My expectations were very low given the highly critical reviews of this hotel so I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was okay in the main. It is a bit of a drive out of town with nothing around within walking distance. Rooms at the front have balconies with a view out to sea although I couldn't get my balcony door open and anyway the winter weather was a bit too chilly for sitting in the morning open air.  There is a spacious and reasonably appointed reception area. The wifi worked fine in reception but not in the rooms. My room was quite big with bed and a couple of chairs. As others have noted the mattress was unbelievably hard. Why would you buy a mattress like that - and why would anyone sell them? The lighting was good once I worked out the switches and dials which were unnecessarily complicated. It's worth persevering because all the lights worked but others traveling with me failed the switch/dial test and sat in half-light in their rooms assuming that some lamps were broken. The room had a fridge and safe but no kettle, cups or even glasses in the bathroom. Very odd. The bathroom looked newly renovated with a very nice shower. 

The breakfast buffet was adequate. I didn't take any other meals. Overall, the Infotur seems like a reasonable place to stay for a night or two provided that you have transport to get to and from Namibe town. 



Reasonable Choice

The location is magnificent, the room space too, BUT since they gave a key to two rooms, the dirty balconies, the curtains that could help to rest until a little later are hung by wires, and do not cover the windows completely, which caused that at 5:30 more anything less, had immediately the entrance of the sunlight in the room, a towel per couple, an employee who is simply unstable, broken tiles on the stairs, outside spaces of the hotel without any care and a manager who when I asked to call you to solve some of these items, was not even in the space (Saturday at 16:30) and was contactable, according to the receptionist.

An experience not to be repeated, not by space but by its mismanagement.

On arrival the power was off. Fortunately I work in power generation and my colleagues soon had the power on again. At check in we were barely acknowledged and given actually occupied rooms. then a porter took the luggage to a completely different rooms so when we went up no bags . Only half of the lights worked in the rooms and all 3 lamps had no bulbs. 
During the night the power was off more than it was on so no AC. or shower 
The Beds ... probably the hardest mattresses i have ever encountered  absolutely no give it was like sleeping on a board. No one at reception seemed to care and feigned ignorance while we tried to get rooms.. never mind fixing their Generator.
on check out it was amazing to find that half the staff had learned English during the night as at check in no one could.

probably the worst hotel of its class I have ever stayed in

Not much was working in the room, the curtains were torn, the shower head fell off, there was no soap, and the bathroom didn't look particularly clean. The staff, however, were very friendly, and made up for the lack in the rooms.

Needs a clean up

For a flight cancellation, the airline accommodated the passengers in Infotur. It's a shame to see a public investment being mismanaged and misconstrued. After we got the keys, everyone who had already gone up to the rooms was going back to the reception because they couldn't access them. I also went up to mine and nothing. On the second attempt it worked. All the cards worked in every room! The system was broken and to dispose of the subject the reception types went the simplest way. We went down for dinner, our group occupied a large table. Due to the sudden assault of the guests the kitchen had only four possible dishes: biscuit, chicken, parlour or a light.

It's a shame

On the surface this is a nice hotel. The decor is generic but good. The service was seriously impeded by the fact that no one spoke English! A tourist hotel with no one who speaks English so communication was challenging. The bedroom was fine apart from a bed which was rock hard and a shower which emitted water from everywhere except the shower head! Breakfast was truly disappointing. Instant coffee, desiccated scrambled eggs and a very limited choice. Fruit abounds in the markets, why not in the hotel? Tourism is in its infancy here but a hotel like this, with western prices, should be conversant with the need to provide a good service in all areas! 

Functional but with many shortcomings

The hotel is a recent Chinese construction that offers large, clean and relatively well equipped rooms with terrace. There is an indoor courtyard with a well-maintained swimming pool. The staff is very friendly and attentive (as often in Angola). The breakfast is very good. On the other hand, it may be better to have dinner in the city or we can find good restaurants with more friendly rooms. This one is really very (too) large. There is a large closed parking lot just in front of the building, no worries about your vehicle. Located outside the center, you will not be disturbed by noise and/or music all night.

It's perfect as a hotel.

Large rooms with a suitable bathroom. It's four kilometers from downtown, which means almost nothing. It has a beach in front of the hotel. The spaces are bigger than the chick chick hotel in downtown. At the time of my stay I had bad luck with breakfast because they claimed technical problems in the kitchen, which caused a miserable breakfast. Otherwise it would give me another point in my assessment and would undoubtedly be the right choice for me in Namibia.

This is a nice place to spend some days in Namibe. Rooms are big and clean. Conference rooms are good too. The best of all is the staff. They are great in the restaurant, the bar, and the front desk, especially, Erica who was always helping our group with everything we needed.


Great Staff

It's probably supposed to be a luxury hotel but it's nothing more than a mere 3-star hotel with construction problems. Acceptable in Angola and a distant place like Namibia, but not impressive.
