This is the 3rd time we have stayed at Battery Point Hotel. We have stayed in rooms 1 and 3 both times and absolutely love this place. The location is unbeatable. Walking distance to Salamanca, Jackman & McRoss bakery, restaurants and the Shipwrights Arms hotel just down the road. A short downhill walk to Sandy Bay road to a Coles and Woolworths. Both rooms have lovely views of Sandy Bay. The rooms are a bit dated but they are clean, warm and very comfortable. Being able to stay in the historic location of Battery Point at this price point is unbeatable. And a special shout out to the manager Leanne for the late checkout on our last day.

A beautiful room in a historic manor house, which I thought would be a more unique experience than staying in a big hotel. It was! Beds were so comfortable, room was always warm despite the winter temperatures. I travelled with my 2 daughters and there weren't many options where we each got our own bed, but this had a queen and 2 singles, which is a nice bonus. Owner was lovely, no trouble finding the key for check in, ample parking for the number of rooms. The top floor apartment wasn't booked out when we were there so we were able to go up to the rooftop and look at the view, which was incredible. The location in Battery Point is near to cafes, pubs and restaurants, and a very short drive to nearby Sandy Bay for cheaper takeaway and supermarkets if the restaurants are too pricey for the budget conscious (some are, it's Battery Point). It was only a few blocks to Salamanca Markets as well, easy on the way there, uphill on the way back though (be warned!). I would 100% stay here again if I'm ever back in Hobart. 

Stunning, unique stay!

Parking onsite, so you can walk to the downtown area. Rooms were clean and very spacious. Bathroom was spotless. There is a bar fridge in the room, but a big fridge in a shared area where there is also plates,  cutlery etc. if you want to bring your own breakfast supplies etc. 

Spacious rooms close within walking distance to the city centre.

We were a large group of 9 school friends celebrating a significant birthday year.
The Manor had large large rooms, many with impressive panoramic views. Beds were very comfortable. team/coffee facilities, small fridge and  Staff were efficient and unobtrusive. We used the large apartments on the top floor as our meeting place. ( This also had a washer and dryer and dish washer ) Walkable distance to some excellent restaurants and Salamanca Market and city centre.
Would have liked to have seen some tourist brochures in the rooms.  Often quicker and more comprehensive than scrolling through not very well designed web pages.
Highly recommended.

A great Hobart base

Clean, well equipped and about 15 mins walk from the centre of Hobart.  We didn’t see any staff from when we checked in (admittedly mid evening) and when we left at 9.30am, surprisingly. Room 8 has some mould on the wall and was a little chilly when we arrived.

Oh my goodness, what a wonderful 3 nights spent at this accommodation. I stayed in Room 5 & was not disappointed. Beautiful views, spacious & quiet. I almost shed a tear when I left, it was the break I definitely needed. Battery Point is also a gorgeous area with so many lovely old residences & great spots to eat close by. I'd come back to Hobart just to stay here again. 

ROOM 5 ♡

The manager was so helpful as we arrived very late but our room (#8) was pretty much inhabitable due to the rising damp. The smell was unbearable and the windows and doors didn’t close properly due to swelling. Lovely old building in a fabulous location but this particular room should not be rented out. We had to leave by 7am to move to a different hotel.

The rooms at the Battery Point Manor are very spacious, well set out with appropriate furnishings - largest room we've every stayed in.  While the manor is dated and having elderly pains, the new owners are working on the maintenance.  The position is excellent with a great hotel (and great food) within 100 meters and several restaurants and a very good bakery within a short walk.  Walking to Constitution Dock takes about 15 minutes.  Leanne manages the manor and is an asset to the owners - very friendly and did everything possible to make our stay memorable.

Great value and excellent location

The service was excellent and the view is great from the communal rooftop. We were in the cheapest room which was simple, but clean and had everything we needed.

The best thing about it though, is the location. Battery Point is a great place to walk around. You can take a different route each time you walk to Salamanca or the CBD, and there are loads of beautiful old houses and atmospheric streets.

Great location

Our room was huge and had glimpses of the river. Given the location and quality of the room the price was excellent. Needless to say it was very clean and well appointed, and manager was most obliging. The toilet was separate from bathroom plus there was a walk in wardrobe. The building has an old world elegance - it is charming! There is a microwave in a common area for guest use.
