the hotel is OK. Clean and fresh, in the start of town. Which is a delightful little street. You can get nice meals and a stroll to the water is nice, to sit and watch the fishermen under the bridge and on the wharf. The hotel down stair is a typical country pub. I liked it, and I don't visit in pubs, unless I have to. 

That Country feeling

We (a family of four with two young kids 6 and 7) were fortunate enough to stay at the Clyde River Motor Inn over the years and sadly, we stayed for the last time on Sat 28/5/2016. The Motor Inn was basic by every standard imaginable but for us it was perfect. It was cheap, clean and in a location second to none. The kids loved walking across to the mall and playing at the park, alternatively they loved walking out the other exit across the road to the river where they could ride their scooters. The staff were always nice and helpful and nothing was ever to much trouble. I know progress is considered necessary by some, but it will be a shame to see a place where we had so many good times as a family turned into a car park. Thanks for some great memories Clyde River, we will never forget our times there.

Great family memories

The motel is very central ,across the road from the Clyde River and within a five minute walk to supermarkets.
The rooms are a bit dated and in need of an upgrade but still the room was large enough and clean
There are plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby
Staff were very helpful and friendly

short getaway

Very basic. Would never stay here again. Extremely noisy till all hours and then again from 5.30 onwards. Got very little sleep. Rude receptionist who had no customer skills and no manners. Left before office opened and could not find box to drop room key off as it was not at front of office but around the back of the office. Receptionist should of informed us of this but no she wasn't interested at all. Good customer service goes a long way and I'm afraid will never stay here ever again.

Not good

stayed in this motor inn for two nights and found it to be a great place to stay as it is right opposite the river clyde and all the restuarants shops  eateries clubs are all within walking distance. The room we stayed in was clean and tidy although the whole building is getting a bit dated but overall it was a pleasant place to stay and the nightly rate was quite acceptable for the area we were in.would definitely stay there again when driving down the south coast.......

close to everything

For AUD 160 the night transformed into the most expensive hotel of all holidays. At most it reaches two stars because everything is very old. Even a radio that doesn't work from the 70s is inserted into a light desk and to achieve some symmetry, a bible on the other light desk. In the bathroom there is no shampoo. Pros: the manager or owner waits for us after 9pm as this establishment closes its offices to check in at this time. Parking included and a small swimming pool that we do not use rain. For the price they charge, it is a robbery.

An old and expensive motel.

Next to the motel are restaurants and grocery stores. The reception is nice and the wifi is free. The room (100$) is large enough for a couple, clean and simple. Ideal for passing travelers who would like to stop to rest.
