Our first impression was 'this place is old and needs a facelift.'  We were booked in by our travel company otherwise we would not have selected this establishment.  It's a very old complex.  The beds were a little hard but in good condition and comfortable for us.  The air con was not working and we were lucky we were not there during the hotter months.  We had geckos in our room and others in our travelling group mention the large cockroaches they encountered in their rooms.  The shower recess is aged with an old curtain that has seen better days.  The towels need replacing as they were old and smelly.  My bedside lamp was not working.  On the brighter side - they did a nice dinner and good breakfast, and the staff were very amiable.  The location is good.

Needs a few dollars spent on it.

Given the prices in the NT during this time of year, then this was reasonable. Motel style of rooms. We had the standard  motel room with no outside seating except a chair for smokers and no table. Some rooms have a grassed area in front so if you want a bit more luxury then go premium. We had a later check in as the room was not ready but wasn’t a big deal as we went and grabbed a great coffee from the Black Russian nearby. Staff were under a lot of pressure, probably due to shortages, but they did their best and made our stay really enjoyable. Friendly, down to earth and wanting to please the guests. Didn’t try the pool or tennis courts  as we run out of time but all looked great.

Down to earth, friendly staff and good value for money given time of year and other accomodation around.

First time staying in Katherine and must say totally disappointed in this hotel. Firstly arrived around 2.30pm and told sorry room not ready come back in half an hr as housekeeping running behind. Hey i paid for his room from 2pm ! Then once in the room it became clear why. The room was probably thw worse we have stayed in. Very old. Grubby. Broken/ cracked basin. Curtains that were broken. Grubby tiles. Then  found a note to say due to covid no housekeeping will be done unless booked in..  On 2nd day we asked reception to do housekeeping the next day and they said it qas  booked. Alas no housekeeping done. 
Told by a local that hotel had been sold. Best thing new owners can do is flatten it.
Has to be thw worse Hotel in the group.

nice garden area around accommodation which was very well maintained, room we had was clean and good size, door to room was very loose when locked otherwise good safe location, pool was clean and good size.

Clean!

Clean and tidy. Bbq area was fantastic, tables to sit there as you are cooking your food. Reception was clean and tidy and the guy at the desk was very professional. It is very central to the shops to get some food. 

Close to shops

Had a quick 1 night stay. Friendly welcome at check in offering help with food options in the local area. Lovely hotel grounds in a tropical setting with a nice pool and tennis court. Rooms had ice cold air conditioning and comfortable beds which were welcome after a long drive. Rooms are old and in need of refurbishment though. No power points near the bed and light bulbs not replaced in bed side lights. Staff were helpful in providing power boards to enable me to use my CPAP machine. The on-site  Restaurant appeared to be closed. Overall not a bad choice given the limited number of accommodation options in Katherine.

Friendly staff and nice grounds - rooms in need of refurbishment

We used a tourism voucher to book this accommodation. There was an initial mix up (not the fault of the hotel) and we were unable to have the family room we booked. The man at reception was friendly and apologetic and gave us a free bottle of wine. 

The entire complex looks worn and tired. No doubt that the Australian climate is harsh, but some renovations/landscaping/fresh paint would go a long way. Our bar fridge didn’t work initially, but the man at reception fixed the issue pretty quickly. 

Beds were comfortable, air con effective, seats and tables lacking. 

Overall it was fine for us, but I was glad I wasn’t paying full price. 

Adequate accommodation 

We stayed here for two nights while our house was being packed up for our move interstate. 

Like all things in Katherine it was horrible. It’s not a good sign when you drive in and see that the property is extremely neglected, rundown and old. 

When we checked in we were told that someone had already checked in using my husbands name (I’m guessing no ID was checked).  The girls at reception were apologetic and gave us an upgrade. I will talk about this “upgrade” in a moment.

When you check in  you are given 1 key which you need to insert to allow the aircon to work. So, if you are planning on going out you will need to take your key with you. By the time you return your room will be extremely hot and it will take a long time for it to cool down. 

The room is very basic and consisted of a queen bed and a single and a very outdated bathroom.  Unfortunately, the bathroom constantly smelled of sewage, it was nasty.  Good luck with the shower, the water pressure is really bad. 

The interior was old, it wasn’t aesthetically pleasing at all. The only reason why I’ve given this 2 stars is because my husband didn’t mind the bed (very soft).  

They advertise free wifi, we tried several times only to get “no internet connection “.

Now the upgrade, we appreciated the kind gesture but I’m wondering what the upgrade was???  Is it the single bed? 

The restaurant was closed so I can’t comment on that. 

This apparently is one of the better places to stay in Katherine. 



Don’t bother

Stayed two nights here with two young children. When we pulled up, I was concerned about what the rooms would be like inside, as the hotel and grounds looked run down.  Checked in and was relieved to find the room clean and ok inside. Staff were friendly, but they really need to cut the grass and clean up the pool area and grounds, as it looks terrible. Katherine itself is terrible, and I hope never to return to that town again.

Good stay

Everything about this place was tired and worn out. The first room we checked in to had a running toilet that sounded like a tap turned on full blast, the baggage shelf collapsed forward when we placed our cabin bag on it and when we went to ring Reception the handset was cut off from the phone and the phone line cut off from the wall. 
We then moved to a room which sleeps a family of 5 so had plenty of space. The bathroom was small and dated.
At least the sheets & linen were good quality and comfortable and the air-conditioning worked well in the 42C heat.
The manager was very fastidious and attentive and of a much higher standard than the hotel itself.
