Booked this farm for a little getaway after the wedding. Absolutely stunning grounds and views. We stayed at Bag End cottage. Absolutely clean and well thought out decor, The kitchen appliances were top tier mixed with Chinese porcelain dish ware. The hosts were very accommodating and attentive to our needs. Can’t wait to go back and just relax.

The cedar hot was the main relax point.

Superb location for a stay. The views from Bag End were, at times, jawdropping...... the moon over the hills from the hot tub to the mist sifting through the valley while enjoying breakfast outside. Incredible. Sadly we found the hospitality somewhat lacking. The Hostess did greet us for a brief chat but seemed bored and disinterested. Rivendell is up for sale so maybe they have lost a bit of enthusiasm. The propensity for the dogs to use the front of Bag End as their toilet made navigation from door to car like a scene from the Hunger Games. Nevertheless, the owners have done a wonderful job in establishing such a serene escape and should be congratulated.

Mist over the Valley

We recently enjoyed our first stay at Rivendell in the Bag End cottage. It was absolutely wonderful! Everything about the property and the hosts is just divine and we wish we could've stayed longer. Josh's food is superb - five course feast for dinner with warm pastries, freshly squeezed juice and freshly brewed coffee for breakfast. It gives incredible meaning and is a very genuine paddock to plate experience. The outlook from not only the cottage but all around the property where you are free to explore is simply stunning and altogether calming. I emphasise this was our first visit and when the current madness of covid-19 passes we'll be planning our next trip and taking family and friends along too. We cannot recommend the Rivendell team highly enough and already look forward to our next visit!

Absolutely divine setting and hospitality

Rivendell is the ultimate package.  It has everything you could ever wish for.  Location is amazing & their attention to detail is second to none.  As you enter the driveway you are captivated by the peace & serenity.

Wonderful location with fantastic hospitality

I absolutely love my stays at Rivendell this time we stayed for 3 nights. Joshs cooking NEVER fails to impress. Its just the most serene, wonderful escape for us and one id be excitedly looking to revisit. Happy to be welcomed like one of their family. Support Gippsland. One of the best ways we can show support is by visiting. They genuinely do appreciate it and youll feel it with the way they go above and beyond. Cant wait to go back!

Fabulous food and accommodation 

Stayed here last week in the bag end cottage. My partner and I fell in love with the property, the cottage which is a converted concrete water tank, and the unbelievable service we received. 

Upon arrival Josh was nothing but excellent in showing us around, introducing us to all of the dogs (which are very friendly and love to eat) and if there were anything we needed, he was at our service before we could blink an eye lid.

We booked in for breakfast and dinner while there and OMG. We were both jaw dropped at the effort that had gone into each of the meals just for us. The food is to die for! 

If your looking for accomodation that is not only luxury but where there’s service that comes with it. Josh and his team are extremely hospitable and would love welcoming guests to their farm.

Thank you for an amazing weekend. And as a quick note for anyone concerned about heading to East Gippsland because of the fires, don’t be. They’re back in business!

Super romantic accomodation

So delighted we chose Rivendell for my special birthday. The country setting and homestead is extraordinary and Josh was host extraordinaire offering my 65 guests terrific service, attention to detail, unparalled hospitality and wonderful food. Hidden treasures abound in all the crafted corners of the property. The staff were marvellous and nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend Rivendell for your next celebration or unique corporate event. Stunning place! 

Event Extraordinaire in a Classy Country Paradise

Amazing views, exciting food, beautiful decor and a down to earth vibe. Rivendell has it all. If you are tired of staying at the same kind of bland hotel, Rivendell is the place for you. It has so much personality and the hospitality is on point. Do you self a favor and enjoy a sunrise over the valley, or if you are not the biggest morning person, get Josh to make you one of his special gin and tonics and take in one of the beautiful sunsets instead. I would definitely recommend Rivendell. 

Amazing place with great personality 

After watching Postcards, which featured Rivendell Farm Cottages we decided that we needed a quick getaway, therefore we booked. We stayed in Bag End, a beautifully converted concrete water tank, which just took our breath away.  From the hot tub and hanging chairs through to the most gorgeously styled bedroom, everything that you required was provided for. Josh, our host, was amazing.  His friendliness made us feel quite at home and his culinary skills created the most exquisite dishes. Our dinner was exciting and sent our tastebuds on a tantalising journey. The property itself was  spectacular, with garden spaces, flowering arbors and beautifully maintained grounds.  The pets, which included 6 dogs, 2 horses, chickens, ducks, peacocks and cows made our stay even more wonderful.  We will definitely be back as there is so much more for us to see and do.  Thanks again Josh for your hospitality and look forward to coming again very soon.
