A ghost ‘resort’. Breakfast was an apology; a couple of packet cereals and diy toast in the room. They have tried to do some renovations but it’s a pretty rough job. Really sad to see this place deteriorated so far. No restaurant and we had to ask for the BBQ to be cleaned.

Totally underwhelming - makes Basil Fawlty look good

We stayed at Warrenmang for one night on 26 January and had a fabulous time. Loved the outlook and the beautiful sunset, the coffee in the morning at the restaurant and the staff. So much so we raved about it to family and friends and booked another two nights / two rooms for 24-26 April which we were looking forward to very much. 

Unfortunately our next booking was an absolute shemozzle to say the least. We like to book direct when traveling in Australia to support small businesses to not need to pay commissions through third parties. We did this with Warrenmang via email in Feb and didn’t receive any email response for 5 days which gave us the impression something was up. After emailing about the restaurant hours on 17 April I was advised the restaurant was closed until further notice because they were sourcing a new chef.  Anyway long story short and emails back and forth we were advised by Emma the day we were coming that the price had increased $70 per room per night meaning the total cost was increasing by $280. I tried to phone Warrenmang to discuss this, however, their phone had been disconnected so I made contact over facebook chat. We were told this is the new pricing and can’t be changed. Thanks but no thanks.. with no restaurant, no phone (and we are traveling with a new baby) and dodgy service we cancelled and booked elsewhere. 

Reading between the lines I suspect the business is in trouble but other excuses are being made to hide this fact. I sincerely hope this beautiful place can be resurrected and good management can be put in place again. The Pyrenees region is lovely and I recommend visitors go to the other great winery’s within the area.

Dodgy brothers

Well, that was a tad disappointing.

Having stayed here a number of times over the years and watching the cabins quietly but steadily getting dustier and shabbier, I was keen to go back to see the new update.
And my assessment: dusty, cobwebby and shabby but with some new grey paint and new washbasins. And statues.

What I have liked most about the venue over the years is the glorious location but this night the restaurant wasn’t open so we couldn’t enjoy the excellent local produce nor the views over the vines.  The cabins, once upon a time, provided a cosy retreat from the busy world but now they just feel old-fashioned and, despite the renovation, still seem very run-down with a lot of 1980s timber and rotted verandahs. An example: in the renovated bathroom, there is a brand new hand basin but the old shower screen collapsed on me while I was the shower after earlier not opening at all.  The inside of room was coated with a layer of dust which is partly understandable given the climate and location but doesn’t say ‘luxury’ in any way.  The  bed was comfy and the linens are nice but the slate floors in bedroom and bathroom were freezing cold.  

The staff were pleasant, very friendly and clearly wanted to help. But they seemed totally out of depth - given that the restaurant was closed, you’d think they’d know where to direct tourists for an evening meal. All of their suggested options were also closed but they didn’t mention the one pub in town which was actually serving meals.  And that pub was excellent 

It was a VERY disappointing stay.  

Hmmm, has it really been renovated?

So much potential in this place. New management were incredibly helpful and the restaurant food was great. Beautiful scenery, awesome location and fantastic wine. The kids loved seeing kangaroos down by the water hole. A bit of maintenance is needed on the accommodation and it would be nice to have the pool open! Overall value for money is good.

Family stay

Stay away from this place! Worst hotel experience ever!
If traveling with children, it is a direct health hazardous place to stay. 
On their website they inform future guests that it is a family friendly reccomandation. Its the biggest lie, ever. They call themself a Resort. Also a big lie. There is no such thing as a Resort at Warrenmang Winery. 

The water in the tap is toxic. It is not possible to get hot water to shower or wash hands. When turning on the hot tap it immediately start smelling of gas everywhere.
The breakfast that is included, is not something you can serve for children or adults for that matter of fact.
The rooms are dirty and dusty, and if you use wet wipes to wipe surfaces off after your baby, they become black.
The pool was green and toxic. 
The spa was out of order.

The restaurant is not open for dinner or breakfast on weekdays , Sunday included. So you have to find out for yourself. The thing is, that the nearest town is at least 45 km away.

If you choose to go here, I hope you bring a good health.

We promised the receptionist when we stayed here in January 2019, not to write a review if they managed their stuff fast and at least changed their information about a family-friendly resort online. As they have not done so, over a month later, we feel compelled to warn all other children's families from making the same mistake as us.
It is far from family friendly.
