Arrived 2 days before Christmas excited to start our break on the way to visit family. Skipped into the reception office to share the Christmas spirit only to be brought down by the female staff member who did not even acknowledge my existence. After me clearing my throat and announcing myself she barked what is the booking under and then proceeded to tell me that the cabin we had booked would be very cramped for 3 people...I thought that was strange given I had booked a 2 bedroom Riverview Cabin but wanted to keep my christmas vibes high so thanked her, took the keys and found...um...a box that we were to stay in for the night that had zero view and was definitely not the two bedroom cabin I had booked. 
A quick check of my booking confirmation...THROUGH THEIR OWN WEBSITE confirmed that I had indeed booked a Riverview cabin for one night. That's ok mistakes happen...I went back to reception and was again ignored by the receptionist and decided to just kindly say that I think there had been a mistake. A barked 'what' was replied. I stated that I had been booked into a Riverview cabin. She then raised her voice and told me no you are booked in a standard cabin (which are so crap that they aren't even displayed as an option on their website). I then attemped to show her my booking confirmation and she refused to even look at it and stated to take it up with booking.com. I explained I booked with their own website. It was then that I realised I was dealing with a stage 5 Karen.   She breifly glanced at my booking confirmation which I was still holding out and simply said there's nothing available. I explained that we had paid extra to stay in their 'top' choice and would at least like a refund of the difference. Then she hit the roof. Apparently it's a 'tarrif issue' and that I had paid less than the current tarrifs. Ummm yes. No doubt I did pay less as I booked back in MAY and not last minute. The grumpy Karen continued on her rant so I stated. Look it's obvious that I'm not getting anywhere with you but I am not getting what I paid for and am disappointed. 
When I returned back to my waiting family, my husband was quite shocked at the customer service when I relayed my experince and assumed I was being a melodramatic mole. My only response to him going to talk to her himself was 'good luck'. After a minute or two he came back ashen faced to state that she had told him to either take the cabin or leave with a refund (I want to state here that e were both calm and kind and at no point abusive).  
So anyway. After cracking a drink and a swim in the very well photographed, much crapper in reality pool we tried to move on. Only to have my husband bitten by a bee....because of course there was also an entire bee hive in the inner wall of the cabin. Our one night in our 1970s shoebox was spent drifting off to the dalcet sounds of a swarm of bees and the creaky bed that was older than me. 
Long story short. Karen will ruin your holiday vibes before your holiday has even begun.
Also....the actual riverview cabins look directly at the carpark and bins soooo if you like the smell of rotting prawns, then they are for you!

Keep on driving

Whilst the park itself has good facilities  a pool, mini golf and bowls and the camp grounds were neat and tidy and well maintained. The main toilet and shower block were located way too far away, we were lucky we were in a van but those camping had a long walk. The closer toilets near the pool were shared male and female and were often dirty. The owners were not very welcoming on arrival and when one of our bikes was stolen I reported this to the office and the young girl this time was lovely I was informed the owners would be told and was told there was CTV but I couldn’t see it but she did say she would ask the owner to look at this. I thought they may have contacted us regarding this but no and when my husband asked the grounds man if he’d noticed anything he was just told it wasn’t his problem and he smiled and gave my husband the thumbs up. The attitude of the owners despite the nice grounds has made it that we would never come back to or recommend this park. There is little or no security the locks to the shower block have been disabled and the gates to the camping area are continually open. If it had not been for the rude attitude on arrival and the lack of care shown to us when we had our bike stolen this park would be somewhere I would have recommended despite the issues with the ammenities.

Disappointing

Do not bother going here if you are wanting a friendly place to stay with clean facilities , 2 unisex toilets for all the caravans & camping . The office lady was rude the minute we arrived & sounded like Roy from Ted Lasso if you asked her any questions,  nooooo , a big fat 0 stars from us , the little caravan park in Tenterfield was better than this place .

Worst experience ever

The Receptionist Karen was beyond rude upon arrival and was continuously rude through out our stay, she has one of the worst attitudes I’ve ever encountered. The stay was terrible, the beds were ridiculously uncomfortable and not to mention the beds weren’t made either. There was sheets folded and a pillow sitting on the bed and I had to make my own bed upon arrival, quite lazy of the cleaners as that’s their job to make beds. Wifi is terrible and does not work.
The whole room is dirty and covered in mould. There was not enough toilet paper or towels for our 3 night stay, there was no body wash in the rooms.
Don’t waste your money staying here it’s absolutely Pathetic. If I could get -0 stars I would.

Beyond awful accommodation

We only stayed one night, as we were passing through on our way up the coast in our motorhome.  We had a flat site with a double concrete slab which made it so convenient to park. We arrived late in the afternoon & the office was closed but as organised over the phone, an envelope was placed in a safe for us with a detailed map of our site & how to get to it, along with all the info. we needed for our stay. All the facilities were spotlessly clean & well presented. The pool & surrounds were amazing, along with putt putt, mini bowls green, giant chess set, golf driving range, kids playground & fully equipped games room. We can't wait to get back there & spend a lot more time there.

Next time we'll stay longer

I would keep driving and avoid this little place... pictures look amazing on the internet but much has changed since then...
The “beach” is non existent, the blow up pillow has been popped and is now covered in filthy water...
And the cabin, don’t waste your money, just drive on by, unless you want a mouldy couch etc etc

Don’t bother!

We just got home from a lovely long weekend away at your park.

Perfect for our young family, the pool and putt putt were the fav attractions. Shame about the jumping pillow being out of action. But there was plenty for us to do despite this.

We booked the LillyPilly cottage, and it was great for our 2 littles that are both in cots, so we could easily rearrange the second room to fit our portacots. The cottage also had a full kitchen (no dishwasher though haha), on arrival the microwave wasn’t working and within 15mins we had a new microwave arrive. Amazing service! Also a bath which was good for the littles also.

Additions I’d love to see would be blackout curtains (we stayed over the weekend when daylight savings started, so a few too many early mornings due to the sun!) & a clothes airer or a small clothesline for swimwear.

We had a few little insect friends, ants,  visit after a huge storm, but they seemed to be going for the bathroom, not the pantry where the snacks were, stupid ants haha. But some bug spray under the sink sorted them out.

We had zero issues with other holiday makers being too noisy, which was a concern of mine being so close to camp kitchen. The most annoying sound was one bird greeting the dawn at 450am before daylight savings started 🥱.

Carryn was great, and answered all my questions prior to our stay and during.

We look forward to visiting again soon!

Great Park and Great LillyPilly Cottage

The park itself is not a bad location. We stayed here for one night whilst passing through Nambucca heads heading north. Room was as expected for the cost. The only reason I wouldn’t recommend staying here is due to the fact that after checking in, my partner came back to the car feeling rather upset after dealing with the female employee who was on staff at the time. She was condescending and rude and made her feel as though we were inconveniencing them by paying money to stay there.

Try somewhere else

Well appointed cabins. Staff are friendly. Handy location to Macksville for a great pub lunch and groceries. Close enough to Nambucca Heads but quiet for a nice break. River nearby for fishing. Can walk to Macksville if needed. Well maintained amenities and pool was excellent. Pet friendly and spacious sites. We will be back.

Great location

Nice little place off the highway well maintained grounds and camp kitchen/bbq area were spotless not that we needed to use them ad we had our own cooking facilities in our van has a great pool and jumping pillow.You can walk across the road for a fish off the pontoon  plenty of bird life also has a golf driving range.
