Very much underwhelmed by this guest house.  We stayed in the Maid's Cottage.  There is a nice bedroom with a wood burner and a modern bathroom - however, the rest of the cottage which houses a small kitchen and living area resembles a converted garage.   There is a small court yard at the rear of the cottage with an outside dining.   Some elements have been done well (like the wood burner) other elements stand out as not so well thought out.  Breakfast is provided - however, its not local produce which is a shame.   The 'cottage' is situated about 500m from the beach and about 150m from town.   So location is great.   I am only giving it 3 stars - as it doesn't feel like a cottage - it feels more like an extension - I definitely did not enjoy staying there and cannot recommend.

Maid's Cottage

This was our 3rd stay but the first in the Lady Hamilton Suite. We arrived on a cold & windy afternoon. The Suite was wonderfully warm & cosy. With a lovely warm fire & access to movies we just snuggled up for the rest of the day. Lovely comfortable bed, great bathroom & everything you could want in the kitchen. We will definitely be back for a 4th visit.

Perfect Romantic Winter Weekend

Perfectly located at the quiet end of The Strand, Port Elliot, but just 10 mins walk to the iconic Horseshoe Bay, our Trafalgar Premium Vintage Suite offered the cosiest of comfortable stays, with easy access to all that Port Elliot has to offer. 
We enjoyed meals at the Hotel Elliot and Thunderbird restaurant during our 2 night stay. Both were excellent and both just 5 minutes walk down The Strand.
Our suite consisted of a very comfortable and well-appointed bedroom with en-suite and a cosy sitting/dining room with all mod cons and an excellent array of breakfast items. 
If you’re into Whale Watching, you couldn’t be better placed. A walk along the shoreside walking track will lead you to Crockery Bay and Basham Beach in one direction and Victor Harbor and its whale magnet, The Bluff, in the other. 
Bring your walking shoes, as there are great trails along the beautiful beaches of Encounter Bay.
You can also hire bikes in Port Elliot. We didn’t see a single whale on this trip, but had a wonderful time looking. 
A trip on one of the Spirit of the Coorong cruises from the wharf at nearby Goolwa is a great way to explore the stunning Coorong National Park and the Mouth of the mighty Murray. Our cruise included lunch and afternoon tea.
We’d also recommend the Port Elliot Bakery and the Flying Fish Café, both must-visit spots in Port Elliot and both only 10 mins stroll from Trafalgar Premium Vintage Suites.

Cosy Getaway in Whale Territory

We stayed 2 nights in the 2 bedroom Maid’s Cottage. The host, David, called a couple nights before to check what sleeping arrangements we would prefer for our 2 year old. 
We were enjoying some lunch at the beach when we got a text saying our room was ready. 
The Maid’s cottage consists of 2 bedrooms in the original cottage and a modern extension for the bathroom, living and kitchen. 
Good sized courtyard with an outdoor shower. 
The beds are comfortable, the kitchen well fitted out, and the bathroom is gorgeous with a lovely stand alone tub. 
The TV has access to Stan, there’s a good selection of books and DVDs. Good sound system with speakers in the ceiling. Some board games as well. 
Breakfast provisions were excellent. Local Fleurieu Peninsula dairy products are a treat, as well as bacon and eggs, and their own muesli mix. Offered a bottle of wine when we arrived. 
The only thing I would improve is a new Teflon frypan. The eggs got a bit stuck! But literally I’m just thinking of something negative to write. 
The host provided us with umbrellas on an unexpectedly rainy day. 
Location is within walking distance to the major cafes, cockle train station and the beach.
All in all for the price and location, we will definitely stay again. A lovely stay.

Awesome clean home away from home in TOP LOCATION!

The owner of the property could not have been more helpful.  Our room was perfect, bathroom was neat, clean with plenty of hot water.  Parking was right out front. The bed was comfortable and it is not possible to describe how quiet.

We were a 5 to 10 minute walk to several great restaurants.

Great Choice

My fiance and i stayed in the maids cottage back in June and it was just perfect for what we were looking for as a weekend getaway. Arriving late at night wasn't a problem for the owner, and the location is fantastically close to the beach, shops and food. We chose this property as we wanted something luxurious and romantic and it certainly hit the mark. Being able to use a proper wood fire was a nice touch and the four poster framed bed something not seen too much. Despite the heritage listing of the property it was heavily renovated to be modern but still held some heritage appeal which worked really well. My only complaint and the reason for preferring a 4.5 star review is that i despise showers with no doors. The shower was framed on two sides by wall and one side by glass but then the entrance was open and without a door. I found it hard to work out where to put my towel and the floormat as water just went everywhere and didnt stay contained in the shower area. It was an awkward shape to put a door in, I'll give it that, but it just made things very awkward when trying to not slip on wet floors or by trying to not fling around so much water.
 Other than that, an amazing experience and we hope to visit again in the future!!

4.5 star experience 

What a wonderful find in beautiful Port Elliott. The accommodation was fantastic with a fire in the sitting room, breakfast provisions were plentiful and lovely. The owners were very helpful and allowed us to use their washing machine which we greatly appreciated.

Great accommodation at Trafalgar Vintage apartments

Firstly when we said we wouldn’t be arriving until late they went to the trouble to find out where would be open for dinner when we arrived. We stayed in the vintage suite and it was lovely. The location is fantastic close to boomer beach and horseshoe bay and right on the shopping and restaurant strip. Thank you for a lovely stay 

Lovely place

Travelling with with an interstate family member we decided to seek out the best Port Elliot had to offer by way of B'N'B. Trafalgar vintage Suites is well located only minutes walk from the rugged south Coast  close to Centennial Steps.
We stayed for several nights in the old,restored cottage with its  large bedrooms and bathroom with an unusual long ,narrow living area from the kitchen. Lots of nice touches ...lots of towel rails and hooks in the bathroom with its roomy, modern shower....just the best museli mix...bacon/eggs/juice and wine.Big screen TV with Stan in the living area with new,comfortable sofa. plenty of room for the 3 of us.Nice and clean.
