The staff were very friendly, the seafood platter… hmm I think was over priced for what it was. I was a little underwhelmed at the platter,I paid extra $2 to get kilpatrick oysters instead of raw. (2 of them) they didn’t come out kilpatrick. I mentioned to the staff, she apologised and yet didn’t offer the refund or even better 2 cooked oysters 🤦🏻‍♀️ a couple pieces of lemon would have hit the spot too. 
It’s a lovely spot, and again very friendly staff. I would go again, but I would definitely try a different meal.

I am not used to staying in Pub accommodation so did not know what to expect. My husband has stayed in quite a few and said it was better than most. The room was quite basic but did have all that we required.  The bathroom was in need of a spruce up with a few broken tiles but overall was clean. We were warned to close the door and put the fan on when having a shower as the steam could trigger the smoke alarm. The washbasin was annoyingly in the corner of the main room. The communal kitchen was stocked with everything you need for a decent continental breakfast and available for use 24hrs. Overall a good value basic stay.

Classic Pub accomodation

We ended up at The Pier because our air BNB booking was stuffed up. Firstly we were grateful that we found somewhere last minute. You could not ask for a better location and friendly staff. But for  $130 per night  it was definitely over priced. But as I said at least we had a bed. The rooms are small and claustrophobic. No window other than where the AC is installed. Cables hanging from a VERY small TV. The noise from the bar below did not worry us we had the noisy AC running and this was located right next to the bed. At bed height. The wash basin is in the bedroom with a shower change area and toilet in the ensuite. There is also one bedside table and lamp and a bar fridge. We were warned that if we didn’t have the fan going and door shut when we showered the alarm would go off and result in a $450 fine. The windows were plugged with wads of paper. Maybe to stop them rattling. We were advised to leave used towels on the floor if we wanted fresh ones. Unfortunately the room was not serviced in the 3 days we were there. So no fresh towels. Taps were not marked as hot or cold. They could use some double adaptors so 2 people could charge phones , devices. Communal kitchen was well stocked and clean. Good meal in the bar was enjoyed with a beautiful view.

Great location, but ...

Classic older pub accommodation! Staff were friendly, and everything was very clean and tidy. Breakfast room offered simple continental breakfast - help yourself and clean as you go. Very relaxed place.

Neat and tidy. Suited my needs. Good value.

Really liked it here. Had a lovely big room with a heritage feel. The dining area is also full of character and it's right on sea front. 
Comfy bed and good sized bathroom with added bonus of a sea view. 
Only issue with room was the air con which didn't seem to be working properly for start of the night but finally started kicking out some cold air around 1am.
We ate in the hotel restaurant in the evening and I can recommend the blue swimmer crab and prawn pasta dish as long as you like it hot! 
The free breakfast was an added bonus with a choice of breads and cereals as well as tea and coffee. The kitchen was also spotlessly clean. 
The girl on reception gets a special mention as she was very welcoming and helpful. 
We left the morning the rains came down and just missed the floods, hope hotel was OK. 
Definitely a good choice at a fair price.

Liked the character of the place, large rooms with sea view and free brekkie!

Ate here on our first night in port Lincoln. Arrived at happy hour so good value beers but we were a bit early for food so sat and relaxed whilst enjoying our "goat" beers.

We both ordered the crumbed prawns which came with chips and salad. Generous sized portion and tasty food.

Nice meal

Large sleeps 3 room with en-suite and water views on main CBD road. Great seafood dinner in front of a roaring fire.  The hotel is old and room decor bare and basic. It’s also very inexpensive. Great for one night passing through this lovely Port. 
Shared kitchen for included continental breakfast.   Very clean too.

Refer to Karinda H's review, a booze palace downstairs and a 1920,s flophouse upstairs, the owner is not interested in accom. and it shows.
Crap food, tiny rooms, disinterested staff, loud music all night and nothing like advertised.
Aoid this dive at all costs!!!!!!

Wish we had read recent reviews before eating at the Pier.  We last ate here a year ago and the service and food was great which leads me to believe that Chef/Staff/management has changed?  Our chief complaint was that tables that had arrived and ordered after us, received their meals before us. We brought our concerns up with wait staff twice, More than an hour after our order had been placed it still hadn’t arrived, so we asked for a full refund so we could go eat somewhere else. To get us to stay one of the managers offered a free bottle of house wine as our meals were almost ready.  Our meals did arrive, however the promised wine didn’t, and to make things worse, the chicken schnitzel and seafood platter were very disappointing. We then asked to speak again to the manager about why we didn’t receive the complementary wine and we were referred to yet another manager who said the waitresses were underage and couldn’t serve wine even though one of them was also working behind the bar. She blamed untrained staff, and a busy evening for the mess up, which is understandable (despite it not being busy when we ordered). It took 45 minutes of discussion with various managers to get the point where her only offer to us was a $30 discount and saying she couldn’t authorise any more as she needed her managers approval.  All the manager had to do was apologise for the bad service and bring either the offered complementary wine or perhaps a few free entrees and we would have been fine, instead it took 45 minutes of fobbing off to other managers to get a measly $30 refund on $300 worth of meals and bad service.

Bad service, average food, managers have no idea how to handle complaints.

How can a Caesar salad go wrong! My $26 Caesar salad arrived minus the chicken I ordered and anchovies.  The egg on top of the salad was so dry and crisp.  I advised the wait staff who took my salad away only to have it returned with cold smoked chicken, a bowl of anchovies and another egg that was drier and crispier!  Needless to say I complained when the wait staff asked “did you enjoy your meal”!  Instead of offering a free meal, my friend and I were offered a berry parfait which, fortunately, was very tasty.
