It’s in the heart of the village with breathtaking views

You can bring your own food , but price comes with complimentary cereals, toast and coffee

It’s basic and functional and gets the job done without breaking the bank balance

Nice simple place to stay in Thredbo

Aneeki ski lodge is in Thredbo village and close to the hiking/mountain biking trails. It has shared bathrooms and cooking facilities. 
The rooms are tiny with no storage facilities. Beds were comfy. However, the room became extremely warm due to afternoon sun streaming in and even with the window open it took till 3am for the room to actually cool down. The room really needs a fan as it’s exposed to the afternoon sun making sleep on warmer days impossible. The walls between the rooms are paper thin which meant I was lucky enough to hear the person in the room next to me cough, snore and even break wind throughout the night. 
The property is accessed via a number of stairs which was fine for us but may be not suitable for people with mobility concerns, disabilities or injuries. 
Communal areas were clean and tidy and good assortment of condiments/breakfast etc. 
There is no toiletries supplied such as soap and you will need your own towel. 
For the location it’s ideal but a good night sleep after spending the day on the slopes might be challenging. 


We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the lodge. It was very cosy, had everything we needed and the hosts are very hospitable! The rooms were warm with plenty of bedding and there were a number of breakfast offerings or plenty of cupboard and fridge space to utilise.

You can't beat this price for walking distance to the ski lifts! The time saved commuting daily from Jindabyne was heavenly. The rooms were very tiny making it hard to store luggage and snowboard bags, but the communal living areas were open and inviting with amazing views and a cosy fireplace. The kitchen was massive with allocated spots to store food and cook with all utilities provided. Continental breakfast (cereal, toast, coffee) provided was a nice touch aswell. I was expecting shared bathrooms "hostel style" and was pleasantly surprised how clean and private they all were. Not too many rooms in the whole lodge either so it was never over-crowded.  Had a European vibe. Perfect for a couple, and would come back again with friends. Great stay!

Great Location with Cosy Vibes

To be fair, we did decide to go down to Thredbo a week before our trip and this place was one of the very few places with anything left. Was my husband and I. Paid $900 for 2 nights for a room with '2 twin beds and 2 bunk beds'. Ad said was free parking - wasn't any at the lodge itself - it would appear they were referring to the standard overnight parking available at Thredbo a 10 minute walk away. The room was tiny. Was a bunk bed along the short wall - took up the whole wall. Was a second bunk bed along the long wall - hard up agains the first bunk and it took up the whole wall. No storage other than a couple of hooks and rails on the walls. About 2 square metres of floor space. Don't know how 4 people would manage. My husband and I were dancing around each other and our stuff. Walls were super thin.  We could hear the people in the next room turning over in their sleep. One of the bunk beds had slats and was comfortable but the other was the old fashioned spring kind - noisy and soft as. Free breakfast was a small selection of cereals and toast. 
As a super budget lodge it would be fine. Everything was clean, kitchen was useful, bathrooms were functional, lounge was cosy and warm - but at $450 per night for the tiniest room I think I have ever stayed in - a bit over the top.

Tiny, tiny room

We came to the Aneeki lodge thinking the rooms would be decent...... We paid $500 per night expecting good sadly it wasn't the room was 4 bunkbeds plastic and couldn't hold themselves up... The room to move was minimal 1 metre by 1/2 a metre to stand. No Place to put bags, one hang place for jumpers. There was no desk. We brought the average clothes and items for skiing. We had to bring all the luggage up at least 25 steps steep and unpleasant after a long days walking up with ski boots up was hard. The rooms were bad.. I have been going up to Thredbo for 10 years now... And no wifi.

 I 100 percent say spend the extra money on somethings nicer in the village.

Aneeki Lodge Disappointed.....

We had the best time here.  Great bathrooms, cosy everywhere, great drying rooms, couldn't have asked for a better budget holiday.  Everyone was super friendly and we just loved both the breakfast items provided, and also being able to cook for ourselves.  The kitchen was well equipped and huge enough to fit several people cooking at once, though this seldom happened. Just a short walk out the front door to the nightlife.  We used the free shuttle all of the time to catch up with family on the other side of town.  Overall, our stay at Aneeki was totally awesome - can't wait to get back again.

Location, location, location

Great for families - good price, self-catering (in a very well equipped kitchen). Kids love the fact that the whole family is in bunk beds.

BBQ available on balcony - with very nice views up to the top of the Kosciuszko Express chairlift (Eagles Nest) and of the valley that the village is located in.

Great view - and great value

This was cheaper than staying at a caravan park in Jindabyne! The atmosphere of being in Thredbo is awesome. The lodge is 1950's Tri-level and made from cedar. The kitchen is really good and the lounge was comfortable with great views. In summer it was quiet with few other guests and we never got in each other's way. We had the family room and it's just beds (which were comfortable) and a shower and toilet. However this encouraged us all to get outside and explore each day. I'm comparing this lodge to our usual caravan park villa and it was so much better, the kitchen is gas and has everything you need and there is a BBQ on the deck as well. It was clean and well looked after. The manager was great and gave us all the local information on where to go and what to do. The only negative (which applies to most accommodation in Thredbo) were the steep uneven stairs up from the road (although the kids loved them). Overall Aneeki is not just great value it made for a great holiday - highly recommended.
