We are travelling around South America as a late twenties/early thirties couple and we stayed in Hosteling International's Albergue da Costa in an private room for 1 night in a stopover on our way to Pipa.
This was the best HI hostel we've stayed at in South America. It's not the usual cheap and cheerful affair but instead a hostel with a great atmosphere, areas to sit and relax, good wi-fi (seriously!!) and even a small pool.
Breakfast was really nice too and a much higher standard than the other HI hostels we've been to. 
There's a decent sandwich/burger bar next door and the beach is right across the road so location is good. 
The room was also great. Comfy bed, AC, TV, towels included and bathroom. 
We only stayed here having missed the last bus to Pipa but after seeing this hostel and hearing good things about Natal, it would have been worth spending a few days here.

Awesome hostel, well worth a visit

I was staying in a private room, small for the price, yet clean and air conditioned.The hotel is located close to the beach, yet it is nothing extraordinary.

I opted for a cheap dorm room during my business trip and had a lovely time at this hostel with my friend. It has an attractive design, good leafy garden and small pool. I walked all around ponta negra and this is as well located as it gets before you start paying for beachfront apartments. In front is a taxi rank and beside is a market with forro dance area. Come here for simple comfort with lovely staff.

Great hostel next to chilled burger bar near beach

Excellent location a few blocks from the beach and very clean, very good atmosphere, excellent care and staff with a good disposition, pleasant atmosphere, swimming pool, kitchen and refrigerator, excellent bathrooms and common areas.

It's not what it looks like in photos, I was really hoping for something else. We stayed one day and left because we weren't comfortable in the place.

I didn't like it at all.

My experience was very good.The hostel is very well located, very cozy, the breakfast quite complete.Close to the beach, and opposite the bus stops.The only inconvenience was that I was touched by the bed above the women's room, which was too high and moved quite a bit.

Having a JackBurger next door to order hamburgers is inexpensive. If that's what you get and you ask for a cup of coffee to have at the hostel's cocktail party, much better. A place with nice people, where I feel at home. Breakfast is very good. In the small room it's warm, but by hangar, the place has air-conditioned rooms, very comfortable.

It is the fruit of Maracuyá's coffee.

I had been a few times in Hostel da Costa and guarantee not stay anywhere else in Natal. The service is wonderful, family atmosphere and super friend, the staff become your friends as soon as you arrive, are very helpful in everything you need. I recommend to all my friends. Next time in Natal definitely stay at Hostel da Costa.

The best place for your holiday in Natal

Albergue da Costa was my first stay in a hostel that was shared accomodation and at first I was a bit nervous. However the staff made me feel right at home and the rooms and everything else about this place was AMAZING. The common area was so relaxed and has an amazing vibe. The rooms were clean and the breakfast was also very nicely prepared. The location of the place was very good, very close to the beach.
Would definitely stay here again and hopefully in the future I will be able to!!! Thanks so much to the staff at Albergue da Costa for making me feel welcome and for sharing some good times with me in Natal.  Yana <3

Loved it <3

This is the best hostel I have stayed at in Brazil. It is family run and they are very experienced in how to run a good hostel which makes all the difference. Despite being by a main road, inside it feels very tranquil and relaxed. Beautiful garden area. The breakfast was excellent- all nice and fresh. All of the staff, bar none, were helpful and friendly. One thing to note- the rooms are different prices so make sure you are put in the one you want.
