Really nice City/Beach!
The Hostel is basic but its totaly enougth for stay there. Stay like in a family and its perfect located. In a calm region but with good connection from botafago subway.
Close to lagoa. Nice place but for swimming i prefer cooa or ipanema.
Better ipanema!! Take care as soon you pass the hotel. As better you dont looks like a tourist. 
Taxis or Uber is good to travel.


Olympia rio 2016

The hotel is simple. The photos that show the hotel are not so real... It is simpler than what they show. We booked by reservation so we got a room very close to the kitchen and quite noisy. But for one night it was no inconvenience for us. The room was very basic (without TV) but clean. The sheets and towels were impeccable and the bathroom was very comfortable. The staff was attentive, explained our doubts and handed us a map. Also at breakfast time they were very friendly but good. The room was very nice (shared, jam and cheese, yogurt and beverages). The area is very quiet at night. We walked around the neighborhood during the day and well. But attention was paid to all our places.

Simplicity is the key.

Hostal small, pretty, decent. However, when we arrived the room was not ready for 3 people and we had to settle in one of 2, carrying an extra bed from another room. I don't remember if the mattress or a few saunas had a blood stain, asco. We asked to change them. The drawers according to the velator and the closer have a lot of ink smell and some papers like antoguos brochures. That is, zero deep toilet! The breakfast, quite poor. It is appreciated if you get the cookies available 24 hours a day. The location is very convenient for everything. The beach in Botafogo is a very asco, the water is very contaminated, the beach is garbage. What I like about the neighborhood is that the Botafogo metro station has a camel and a few restaurants, but the area outside the metro station is quite rich, and the area is very spacious.

It has potential, but needs to be improved.

This hostel is perfectly located in Rio in a perfectly renovated old building. Since a couple of months we are travelling and this is the most clean, well-equipped and nicest hostel we have stayed in.
Beds are good, breakfast is big!, and every two rooms have there own bathroom and kitchen.
Highly recommend this quiet and clean place!

El Rio Boutique combines the best of a hostel with the convenience of a separate hotel, plus the warmth of the staff and the tranquility of the place make you feel at home.

Fantastic, just like at home.

Very convenient location for this hotel, in the Botafogo district, about 10 minutes walk from the subway. Common room with TV and reading. We had a room in the DRC, which felt a little damp. The bed was oddly made (was there a sheet missing?) and a little hard. Correct cleanliness. Very friendly staff. Right now, work in the building right next door so think of the quiet balls from 7:00. Breakfast is paid (not tested) but padarias (kind of bakeries where you can have breakfast) are nearby.

Good hotel in good location.

It was my first time in Rio de Janeiro and I was really pleased with the service of the Río Boutique, a very cozy and clean place, where I found everything I needed. The attention is very good and I was guided in an excellent way to get to know the city. I am with a couple of people who like to travel and enjoy the essence of places. I would still stay in Río Boutique.

I'm very happy with it.

For travelers without special personal needs kind and available excellent location to reach the most important sites. During the stay the only sin they never changed the towels is re-made the beds but everything overcomes.Good breakfast

Trying

The first thing I have to highlight about Rio Boutique is its tranquility and beauty. It is very well decorated, very clean and tidy. The rooms are very comfortable (at least the one I was in), although the air conditioning made a hellish noise. The owners clearly knew this, because on the lighting table they left earplugs for the ears (or maybe it was just because there was a construction project on the adjacent land). The staff was attentive and kind. Everyone treated us very well and helped us get out of the subway and even order food on a storm day where it became impossible to get to the street. The location was very good, the area was quiet and you could walk at night without problems. It is 5 blocks from Botafogo station, and 6 blocks from the beach.

A simple, warm and well-located hostel.

I was in Rio Boutique with my girlfriend in February/15, and had a great time. The building is nice and clean, and the ambiance is cozy, with nice living rooms on the commom area for the people to interact. Room was spacious and the bed (box) was nice.
