I went to the hotel with a friend and I arrived at the hotel first, when I saw that the hotel was already half-strange, even though it was a bar of soap, so much so that the driver of the Cabify who also thought it was strange said that I would wait until I check-in to leave, because it was already evening. When I got there I came across the surprise of being informed by the receptionist - let's say one of the passersby was the only hotel employee there - and when I said that the hotel was already locked up! I showed the reservation and even the 50% signal that we had already deposited, so he said that I was going to wait until I checked-in to go away, because it was already evening. I went to the hotel to check-in to check-in to get out, because I had to check-in to check-in with several people.

It's cold, I don't recommend it, the worst stay of my life.

I booked the hotel at hotels.com (I've never had a problem with them and I'm a Gold customer there) and when my employee arrived they said that I had no reservation, but if he wanted it was only to pay R165.00 a day (R90.00) more than I paid that they accepted. After a while the excuse was that I didn't have a job, that I was retired.

Get out of this hotel.

The reception desk is very nice and helpful. It has a good parking lot and is very well located. It is close to the supermarket, bakery and pharmacy. What leaves you wanting is the physical structure of the hotel, which needs to be renovated urgently! It still has a carpet on the hallway floor... I haven't seen this in a long time! Breakfast is very basic. Another problem is the street noise to the rooms facing Barra Road... I confess that my sleep has been impaired! When I was there, I booked by Booking and at no point was notified that the hotel does not accept cards (credit or debit), only cash payment... I thought it was fine and there is still a gasoline bank with a 24-hour side...

Needs to retire

I was quick on the job and I can only evaluate the staff, room and breakfast. My need has been fully taken into account. I will certainly return to make the most of what the Barra da Tijuca has to offer.

I'm going fast.

We stayed in May 2014, the first room, the shower didn't work and the pit smell was horrible. They changed our room, the second one, the noisy air conditioning and busy road didn't allow us to have a good night's sleep. Finally, our third room, requested for the second night, improved a little bit. Next time I'd rather pay a little bit more, but I never set foot in this hotel again. Except for the service, everything else was bad.

Depending on what you're looking for...

Nice hotel to if you want to get out of the hectic Rio de Janeiro. Barra is an american neighbourhood in Rio which is very spacious compared to the city centre. The beaches are great and everything is new.

reasonable

We have stayed in some dingy budget hotels before, but this one takes the prize. No cupboards, painted brick breakfast nook in room, overpowering smell of citronella, presumably to get rid of bugs. Tacky, pink curtains and bed covers. Very far from attractions. Expensive, but accepted that Carnaval pushes up the prices. Only stayed one night, then moved to nice hotel on Copacabana Beach for only slightly more per day!

Breakfast was limited, but surprisingly good. Fresh fruit juice, fresh rolls, excellent sausages and ham and cheese.
