I stayed only one night! The reception, living room, terrace are cozy. Then I wait for a simple but nice place. The boredom starts with seeing the kitchen. A refrigerator is open with food inside. A fan serves as a cooler. Then the bedroom number seven on the ground floor. A nauseating garbage dump! 4 beds overlaid with 3 beds. No security barriers for the beds on level 2 and 3. The ventilation, a ceiling propeller is close to the beds on level 3. So the mattresses are super dangerous.

What a horrible place!

The only positive thing is the location, the quiet street, not far from the subway, near the shops. However, the rooms are overcrowded, it's unbearable heat, there's only one bathroom for 15 people. Breakfast has just the strict necessities and you can't use it once! The staff is dishonest (they don't return the money) and there are a lot of clothes thefts.

Get out of here!

I have nothing good to say about the hostel.The room that touched me was a small, 2x2 room where they put 9 beds!!!!The mattresses a sheet of paper!!!The rubber of the broken bed!!!Impossible to sleep!!!The bathroom was almost a chemical bathroom, the smell was unbearable.The shower was terrible!!!The breakfast was very poor!!!

The worst hostel I've ever been to in my life.

Really good value for money. Nice location, very central in Botafogo. Good cooking facilities and friendly communal area. Air condition was a nice surprise because of the price! Lack of bathroom facilities was a problem at busy times of day.

Short and simple: Give us your money and dont bother us afterwards!!

We stayed for two nights after we have been in Rio for already 4 weeks. Btw Rio is one of the most beautiful cities I've ever been! To explore different areas we always prefer to change accommodation from time to time, therefore we have seen many hostels in Rio.
I have no idea why and how people can find any positive aspects about the staff... It seems that seriously nobody of them cares even one second for the needs of their costumers! You always have the feeling you ask for private, special favours even if its actually part of their job (no bread left at 9am, no spoons or coffee available, even at the check in the little guy at the reception were absolute impolite! The only reason for them to be fast is when it comes to charge you extra: We wanted a second piece of bread for breakfast, they asked as for 5!!! Real, store your luggage at the reception they wanted 12 Real, even though they showed us an paper with the price of 10 Real... I can understand that it's hard to learn a foreign language, even though my english skills are quite poor, but at the reception in a city like Rio it is not to much to ask for some basic abilities... And in other hostels it is common for the workers at least to try it! We even witnessed a terrible situation when the staff started a fight with some customers?! 

Worst place ever, 0 Points out of 10!!


If you want to be treated like sh.... this is your spot!!

The hostel is very good, the location is in the center of Botafogo, a few blocks from the metro that takes you to the beach, it is also close to the city's nightlife.The location is a rather quiet narrow street.The kids who attend are very nice.

Very good hostel!

Pretending that the card reader was not working, the receptionist asked me to bring cash to pay the bill. When I checked my accounts I realized that it was a scam, the machine had worked very well, so I paid the note twice. Today I have been stalking the hostel for three months to get my money back. I still have no answer!

Please stay here during your trip to Rio. Very nice staff and available Perfect location, 5 minutes from the metro, 10 from Botafogo Praia, several supermarkets nearby, quiet and secure neighborhood Very nice small terrace, WiFi and computers with amenities, small bar,... Very good hostel, no complaints about the price (about 9€)

It's a very good hostel.

Sure, for 30 Brl at night you don't expect luxury but still. You can have nice meetings there but it's impossible to sleep there, people come home from the box between 1 and 5 in the morning, turn on the lamp, speak out loud, make noise or go to bed. The receptionist was unable to know who sleeps where? No place to store his stuff so he's lying on the floor, bathroom is not washed,... if you want to party, OK. If not, find another place.
