Casa de Angel is an inn at the foot of a favela, very close (500 m) to Copacabana / Ipanema. I've been staying in this inn for several years and this year I booked it again for January. The area is very authentic and very safe, the inhabitants of this area are very friendly and care a lot about tourists, in fact once a guy asked me for money and went out as 3 or 4 neighbors to recriminate him, it's very safe, I think more than a full Copacabana. The inn is simple, well priced and has everything, for me, necessary, air conditioned, a good bed, TV and beach facilities. Access to the inn is through a busy street that many times you don't want to go up, but you have the option of taking a cheap taxi or a motorbike.

This is an excellent option for searching for everything.

Location: On the edge of a favela. Entrance door is hard to find, as the numbering is barely visible from the street and the sign is torn down. One has to ask what is uncomfortable in the area, especially at night. Rooms: The windowless room is partly built up. There is a modest smell and look in the corners, the outstanding veneer of the furniture and on the small dehumidifier. One also knows why. It molds in the corners and especially behind the box. At night the bedding is always staffed because of the humidity. Even if one does not like staying in the room after the dark is over, one does not have to cling to it, but no water is pumped unless one cleans the bathroom by the dehumidifiers. Very good reception and excellent price ratio for a small hotel. The common areas and rooms are well decorated (beautiful painted canvases) and very clean. The managers are extremely kind: we lost our credit card at the airport and the hotel at all to help us contact our bank in France. We will definitely return there one day. I recommend!

I am very pleased with the stay. Service very nice. Rooms comfortable . Pleasant terrace . Very close to the subway and to COPACABANA or Ipanema few minutes on feet. I wish come again. Thank you for your hospitality.

Perfect and nice

The room has no windows, it's very wet, they change the towels every 2 days, that is, in the middle of the day, you dry with a wet towel. They don't even shake the sheets when they make the bed, also every 2 days, or clean the crumbs that are there... In the reception there's never anyone. They offer you a kitchen to use but when we need it they told us it was closed.

Our first pusada at the brassil!! We arrived with a 7h delay on a Friday night but the receptionist waited for our approximate arrival as agreed by phone, it was very pro and pleasant for our first night!!! Very well placed between copa and ipanema is 5 minutes walk away!!! A favela has 2 steps but very secure nevertheless!!! Very large room!!

House of the angel

I was a guest at the facility located at the beginning of the Favela Cantagalo, very safe, controlled and peaceful. The climb to get there is quite steep, walking several times a day is definitely not recommended. Once I got down, I found myself in a nice square in Rio, where they often organize evenings with themed dinners, markets and other things. Very close to Ipanema, barely 15 minutes walk. PRO: -Exquisite staff, Claudete did everything to make us feel comfortable, always available, the same for Jorge. We had room 1, probably the beautiful, very entangled room, -Pulicia phonetica, to our return we always found a bathroom on the very clean shampoo, the very quiet fridge that I can get to.

Great management, but there are flaws.

I simply chose this place for a friend and I travelling as it was cheap and close to the beach, and booked a room with 2 beds. When we arrived they only had single bed rooms or a room with multiple beds and mirrors everywhere (no desk, chair or anything, just beds and mirrors). It stank of mildew everywhere, the place is covered with nude male art and when we asked for a refund the manager all of a sudden could no longer speak English. If you are not looking for cheap gay sex, I suggest you book someplace else.

This is a gay sex hotel

In the middle of Copacabana and Ipanema, a comfortable and quiet place, is rising the Rua San Román near a favela yes, but a lot of vigilance makes you feel safe, going up and down several times that fireplace is not for anyone, so it is recommended for young people and in good physical condition, the only detail that I didn't like was having to draw the water that stagnates in the sink, they could do something about it, highly recommended for those who only use the hotel to sleep.
