From our stay in Pousada dos Guarás we get to know a little about the Isle of Marajó. As for the hostel, it occupies a considerable green area. Excellent staff service, spacious rooms but Franciscan furniture, simple but loving meals.

The Pousada dos Guarás takes advantage of its structure and its proposal to remain sought after, but lacks attention. It is unique in Marajó, built on a large green, grassed and wooded area, on the beach, with a buffalo walk every day and the sale of typical products. On the other hand, the rooms lack maintenance, especially in the bathroom (we face a disregulated electric shower and a dirty hygiene; our group has experienced some of the hydraulic problems reported here); the staff could have more training; finally, breakfast is a disappointment, very basic, with items that are bought in any supermarket (in other words, without any typical Marajó product, such as groups of cheese, except the delicious buffalo shower).

It's good, but it needs improvement.

Farm and beach practically within the city, Pousada dos Guarás has more than 30 years of service experience. It has buffalo, jackrabbit, ducks, swimming pool and a lake.

Hotel in the countryside and beach accessible

We were practically alone in the hotel, but all the professionals attended us and welcomed us without any restrictions. We loved it!!!! My birthday was different and we counted on the unconditional support of the team, especially Diego, who did everything to make it a beautiful party!!!

Highly professional and welcoming landing

I tried to get in touch with Pousada dos Guaras some times for two years and they simply did not respond, tacitly denying the return of the value. After publishing the complaint in media outlets like this, they finally trusted claiming to be protected by an absurd alternative decree of the federal government signed by President Jair Bolsonaro that unilaterally allowed the retention of values through a supposed No Omni Consumer Credit valid until December 2023.

That was a terrible experience.

It's sad to see how the inn, which was once the best in Marajó, is in decay, abandoned, unattended. I've been staying other times and this was the last. Rooms in need of urgent repairs: the fridge bar fell down the door and they replaced it with an even older one, the bathroom looks dirty, the water smells strongly of rust, the TV only runs a canal, the old towel. The worst part is the outside... Waste in some common areas, stools from the new buffaloes, trees with branches falling apart, the deck of the pool with loose, missing several covers, because we have a dirty outdoor bathroom and a cabin floor. The restaurant with a ridiculously expensive price for nice dishes hosted in the Marajó is not on the cardboard, but with reasonable taste, refreshing.

Decadent

It's good to stay whenever you want to contact nature, well natural and pure, it's good to get away from the city and relax your mind, the pool is great and warm, the room where I stayed wasn't badly cared for, but the air was working little and the TV was interfering, but the bed and the bathroom where I stayed were good, I just think they should put out a better and more powerful internet signal, since I stayed in the last cabin and the internet wasn't there.

Cozy place

The photos are very misleading! Horrible location, terrible maintenance, rooms with traces and spider web, towels look like floor cloth, no blanket. Noisy download, shower with the apparent gambiar wire and you hear all the noise of the other rooms. Terrible attendance, I arrived on a rainy day, there's no one to offer help, not even a rain guard. The restaurant is THE SAME, they don't give you the right, ugly dishes, cold and bad, they put industrial straw in the macaroni I asked for, and the macaroni was of the worst quality, I asked for fettuccine.

Horrible place

We made a package for the carnival and we were disappointed. The facilities are bad maintenance. The air conditioning wasn't working, we changed rooms, the toilet drain stopped working and they didn't fix it, they brought a bucket, the fridge door didn't close, and on the second night we woke up with a rat as a visitor, which repeated the following nights, which made us always leave someone standing.

Horrible experience

I even booked with my wife and two more friends to spend the 21/22 night at the Pousada dos Guarás hotel. The hotel was offered a special package on the site, giving right to dinner and New Year's show, which had to be paid in a short interval and with a very small plot, almost a month before the reception. Considering the high demand for places at this time of year and the benefits involved, we found that even the price was slightly above the average to accommodate the hotel's standard several children. Access to the hotel is relatively simple enough, even though it would have been possible to stay at the end of a small restaurant and show for about 1 km. We also knew that the hotel would be a little intimidating at night. Even if we could not find a good hotel room, we could not find a good hotel room.
