We had chosen the Guest House Fun and Rest in Plovdiv attracted by the central location and the slick balcony overlooking the square... from the reviews we read the structure looked clean, but it wasn't so! we would have adapted without complaining to the discomfort of the mattress often a few centimeters, the insects on the walls and on the furniture and the tiny bathroom that is lit using the floor-wheel shower, to the dust everywhere and to the crumbling sheets we smelled to the sewer that is already heard on the very dirty dangerous stairs made of wood and the fact that there was only a window... to the beauty of the Plovdiv building you can resist a bus! but the refusal of the windows on the walls and on the furniture and the tiny bathroom that is lit using the floor-wheel shower, to the dust everywhere and to the scratched sheets we smelled to the sewer, to the smell of sewage that is already on the very dirty stairs and to the fact that there was an interesting stairs in the building! We did not want to stop, because we wanted to make

This is a thriller reception.

The location is EXCELLENT! You will be at the center of everything, very convenient. The meeting place for the Free Plovdiv Walking Tour is just across the building. The fountain is the first thing that you will see when you get out of the building. There are lots of restaurants nearby. Georgi and Daniela are amazing hosts. They are friendly, very helpful and even went out of their way to make sure I see the lavender fields which was the main reason for coming to Bulgaria.

Excellent Location! Clean & Very Affordable

On the advice of our host we parked at the Hotel Trimontium Ramada 16lv for 24h. Very charming welcome of our host and his adorable dog. Time to pay and exchange a few words it's time for us to go to eat. Super super super clean room, very clean Bulgarian bathroom too. Efficient air conditioning to cool the room atmosphere. In the center.

Downtown on foot

We picked this place for our stay in Plovdiv mainly for its location, which is on the central square adjacent to the town hall (not that historic Plovdiv is that huge). As the room was located on the back of the building, the view isn't nice, but on the plus side you can enjoy a good night of sleep, which in my opinion is worth gold during holidays. The room itself is pretty basic while the bathroom was quite new but both were tidy. The shower is an 'open' one so the bathroom becomes mostly wet when showering. Fortunately it dries pretty fast thanks to the ventilation. 
Prices are ok, even though breakfast is not included (there's a Costa coffee bar 10m from the entrance as well as lots of other places nearby, so it's not a big deal). 
The owners are a young couple who are really nice.
One minor point: you might have some trouble finding the entrance. It's a small corridor on the main square and then a door on the right and at the time of our stay we did not find any sign with the name of the place (admitted, there were some constructions going on).
Definitely worth a recommendation for people who don't need luxurious stays in Plovdiv.
