We stayed at this hotel during our stay in Svilengrad (a week for work reasons), paying 35€ for a large double room and breakfast. The room has its own bathroom with shower and dinner (when you shower if you drink the water, it's a single room), mini-fridge, cupboard, TV, desk and a terrace. The breakfast is blunt: salami, two different types of cheese, bread, butter, jam, cooked eggs, cookies, a sweet pasta cake, infusion, etc. Since we have a good day breakfast in the terrace, we were told to have breakfast in the room. The wifi works perfectly. The problem is that at the reception they don't speak a word of English, so we have to use our internet translator and we understand that during the construction of the hotel, the hotel is very quiet, but as a whole village, the buildings are very quiet at night.

The right hotel

I was in Svilengrad on a service trip and my colleagues booked a room for me at Pontos. When we arrived the reception girl made some adjustments inside the room and gave me the key. I was really surprised because the room she proposed me was the only one located on the ground floor just in front of the reception desk. Anyway I would accept, because it was just for a night, but the surprise continued: when I entered the bathroom, I was horrified: the WC was used and not cleaned and worse for the washbasin, it was dirty, wet, and greasy. I was shocked, rushed out of the room and asked for replacement. The receptionist was so indifferent and replied me that it was not possible because they did not have another available room. She asked me what the problem was and proposed me to call the chambermaid to re-clean the room. I refused and left the "hotel" scandalized. In a few minutes I booked a room for the same price in another incomparably better hotel, Svilena.
I kindly ask you to avoid "Hotel" Pontos in Svilengrad.
