Great value, lovely pool and the rooms are nicely decorated. Location is excellent, room on the 1st floor have a private balcony. No breakfast but the good thing about Kampot is all the breakfast places anyway!

Good location but still quite quiet.

Basic room, I was on the ground floor, with table and chair outside. There is a cleaning service in the rooms but it's better to call if you want to make sure you have it because they pass a little quickly! No private fridge but a collective fridge at the entrance and locked at night. When I visited, the pool was clean but the water was a little cold because the sun exposure is too short. The staff got the entrance done their job but a little to the minimum: to wonder if there is a manager in this establishment?! A ration of the hotel remains is really necessary in whole or in part. Otherwise, well located and cheap.

DIRTY TO AVOID

We had paid a pittance for a one night stay at Vibola so we weren’t expecting too much. We had an upstairs room , no problem with any showers leaking through!!  The guy who gave us our key was not overly friendly , but he efficiently showed us our room.  Yes it’s basic. There was a small crack in sink but remember we had paid about £12.00 per night !  The bed was surprisingly comfortable and sheets were spotlessly clean.  We are in our late 50’s /early 60’s , so not your back packer age who I am sure this guest house is aimed at.  Fro value for money you won’t go wrong. It’s not The Ritz, but you aren’t paying their prices!!   Really well located for loads of restaurants

We were pleasantly surprised

Arrived to reception. Staff disinterested, waited 30 minutes to be given key. 

Room was dirty, hole in bathroom wall, toilet seat broken, basin cracked, room smelt of sewerage. 

Aircon broken, was repaired and a broken tooth brush used to hold it open. Never cooled the room and the outlet from the aircon flooded bathroom. 

Room and bathroom flooded when it rained as the water entered the room through the hole in bathroom. 

Shower didn’t work. No water pressure so impossible to shower properly. 

Room dirty. Bedside table full of rubbish. Mattress lumpy, old and stained.  Black mould on ceiling. 

Pool dirty very small. Pool surrounds full of rubbish. Staff sit around on phones. Not interested in cleaning anything. 

Booked 8, left after 2.

Avoid, avoid, avoid

I ended up staying here 5 nights and it was perfect and clean. I enjoyed the pool every day. Swim at 12 when sun is out! I had a nice Belcony, a nice clean room, a hot shower and the location is perfect. They clean your room daily if needed and supply 2 bottles of water a day. Next time in Kampot I'll be back here!

Great cheap hotel with nice pool!

The pictures are far from reality. The place has a very nice potential, but the pool is not maintained, (rough water, missing tiles), the rooms are brief (no bedside table for example, missing light bulbs...), we haven't seen any housekeeping service, and the reception staff is just there to watch you pass... Add to that a population that seems to live here every month, it gives a bit of a strange atmosphere at times... In short, there is better for the same price in Kampot.

Very disappointing.

Not sure why there are so many bad reviews about this hotel. The reception fellow Bro was super helpful the whole time. My room was neat a clean. Plenty of good tv channels. No kettle in the room but you are able to use the kettle at reception as well as the fridge. I didn't get to swim in the pool but it certainly looked clean enough. Honestly this hotel is a great pick for the price. You actually get more than what you pay for.

Vibola Guesthouse is a guesthouse located in Kampot. can not trust as i booked and when i arrived they said no booking. As During the sea festival all hotel and guesthouse are almost full. Crazy services and not clean.

Bad Guesthouse and untrustable services

Very bad experience staying here. I booked double room, they put me into twin room with two single beds without saying why. It says online that they accept credit card, but when I asked to pay they said it’s not working, I asked for bill, they said they ran out of bill.
