I give it a 5 because I had exactly what I wanted : being alone in nature with jungle views. The island itself is very calm and unique and you can rent a bicycle to cruise around the place. But on the property's side, maintenance and cleanliness should really improve. It was probably very nice when they first opened but the place is really run down. Overpriced for what you get in terms of quality. Khmer food was good. 

Nature

We spent one night in this guesthouse where we had booked by mail. When we arrived, we felt like we were disturbing the people taking care of the place (finally taking care of it is a big word...). Then when the person finally realized that we had a room, she offered us a clean room, but without water... so we told her, which surprised her. Apparently this room hadn't been occupied for a while... So she offered us to go to a bungalow. Since we were the only ones in the guesthouse, it wasn't too much of a problem... And there, discovering the bungalow that was cute! (mosquitoes at the windows found a nice price or nonexistent, dust from all over B...). And for a nice lunch, not a nice lunch, and not to end up in a nice place, the bungalow is a great place to visit, and Kohlas is a great place to visit, and it's worth visiting!

I'm going to avoid it.

Indeed the price of the room is not very high, but we had reserved a summarised comfort there for three days relying on the different opinions that its far from being realistic, cold water, bottled water at three times the price and no Wifi.

Mediocre

Such a gorgeous island and the guesthouse itself is very special. Unfortunately the accommodation wasn’t particularly clean neither was the dining area (tables, menus, crocks..) the young girl who seemed to be running the place singlehandedly was delightful and extremely helpful but things did break down on her day off when we had to wake the staff for breakfast. Would have been less disappointed if it hadn’t been quite expensive.

Beautiful place but disappointing stay

The bungalows are spacious. The lodge is right on the island in the middle of the Mekong, opposite Kratie. Very quiet, no cars, you can walk around the island on the bike path. The choice of the restaurant is limited but it's good. The young Khmer owners are welcoming and organize the dolphin day and accompany you. Overall, excellent quality/price ratio. I highly recommend.

Charming lodge in the middle of the Mekong

The guesthouse is located in the middle of the forest on an island in the middle of the Mekong. More isolated than that you can't be...and it's a magnificent feeling. The rooms are authentic, you don't expect a 5-star hotel (in this case you don't stop at Koh Trong), but it's above all the staff who work there that will fill your heart.

Charming place.

We're spending two days on Koh Trong Island in this hotel, the room is very simple with a shower, it's clean, the open room where we meet for breakfast and dinner is very warm, we had a lot of dinner.

Very calm and friendly

What a beautiful place and surroundings! The staff, especilly So, is always available to help and serve meals. We had a great time there! Only 3km from the boat, taxi scooters wait for you, just hop on and you'll be there in no time. Perfect place if you need to relax as no WIFI, beach is a short walk/bike ride and not over crowded! Beautiful sunset and sunrise.

Koh Trong lodge

Arun Guesthouse is very poor at night. There is hardly any light on the island. The people are very nice and the food is very good. Please don't expect too much because the choice is local and limited. The bungalows are originally yes and also a little dusty. This is probably due to the wind over the rice fields. Bath is okay and mosquito net is also quite quiet at night. Walk across the island or rent a bike that is pure Indochina

Bungalows in the void

Pros: great service in the guesthouse due to the great powers at the reception. Also an excellent meal! Nice premises and very raw wooden cabins for sleeping. Rollers and wheels are rented. All worked out as agreed (with an exception, see below). Contra: the rooms could be a little cleaner (also on cabinets, etc.). For the ride onwards we were booked a bus. This was unfortunately completely overbooked (mini-van with about 6-9 people more than seats were in front). Here the guesthouse company has to choose the ones who handle the customers responsibly.
