We spent our first night in Sianuville in a shed called Ananas and seeing these wonderful cottages in Orchidee, we just didn't believe our luck. Firstly, a separate bungalow with a porch inside the bed, a closet, a ventilator and behind the shower/toilet wall. Here it's very quiet, the staff is so unobtrusive that it's rare to see anyone at all. Cleaning seems to be eaten, but when you live in a bungalow it doesn't matter at all. I first lived in such a house and I can't believe it's worth a try. Firstly, some fresh air, because half of the roof is just open. Secondly, it's on the way to the florist and the fancy of the city.

The natural exotic

Unfortunately most of the hotels and hostels along Otres have shut down due to the construction of casinos. After searching for an hour, Orchid was the first place we found that was open with rooms. Of course we were ready to say yes to anything, but we were pleasantly surprised. Beautiful, authentic bamboo bungalow, mozzie net, clean private bathroom with fresh towels, and a hammock and two chairs outside our front door. Staff are very friendly, and the place is a 30 second walk from food and the beach. Otres itself isn't the haven it used to be, but if you find yourself stuck here Orchid is still a rose among thorns. 

Still Thriving 

We stayed x4 nights and loved every minute of our stay. Authentic bungalow - gaps in floors and walls with a mosquito net which is needed in the evenings and whilst you slept comfortably. There is a fan, several power sockets and cupboard to store your things. Bathroom clean and shower has hot water. WIFI worked well and mini mart on site. No meal options but plenty of choices nearby. Beach just over the road and reasonably clean and nice to swim. Rained heavily one night and no leaks. Staff polite and friendly. Can hear construction and music from nearby venue however it isn't too bad and you just get used to it. Loved the balcony with chairs and hammock out the front. 

Traditional Khmer Bamboo Bungalow

The bed has bed bugs, I got bitten, and the mosquito nets were very dirty since I entered thr room. They don't provide towels and drinking bottle. The room was also dusty and dark.

What I like was I like the ambience, the tranquility, it was very peaceful also the hammock on the porch was fantastic! The garden view is great, staffs were friendly and helpful. It would be perfect if the room was clean. Also at night it was raining, good thing there was no leak. Location was perfect, they don't provide food but there's a small store next door which I recommend to visit.

It was unique but could be better! 

At the last minute, the plans for our vacation changed and we stayed for one night in this resort. We found ourselves very well together. At the reception they spoke English and helped us. The place is simple but nice attached to the beach. Bungalow cute and comfortable.

By chance.

Not value for money to stay at family rooms  the mattress was not properly cleaned I got itchy on my skin after lay down on the couple minutes, the wooden building is not good also. Great location but not a good experiences. 

Not good choice with family rooms

We spent two nights in Otres Orchid and if what you’re looking for is a clean, rustic bungalow experience with WiFi and waking up to the sounds of birds chirping (and potentially loud yawns) then Orchid is the place for you. 

Let’s start with the actual room. Upon arrival we were very happy with the appearance and cleanliness of the bungalow. A quaint balcony with a hammock and two chairs proved to be a great late evening rest spot and inside, a comfortable double bed with a fantastic mosquito net to protect us at night. Three electric sockets are located in the room, each of which worked just fine. The only gripe about the room we had was the bathroom. Clean, yes, but comfortable ... not particularly. Still, for a bamboo bungalow it was more than enough. Being a bamboo construction there is no sound proofing so conversations should be kept low at night to avoid annoying other huts (& vice versa).

The location was great, not quite right on the beach but only a 30ft walk to the beach front and a myriad of different chilled out cafes and bars. You will have no issue with finding places to eat or drink. Having said that, the beach is still quiet and clean, with great swimming. The one issue with the location is that on some nights you can hear the faint bassline from a nearby club. Unless you are an extremely light sleeper, this shouldn’t be a problem. 

Overall we, as a 25 year old couple, were very happy with our accommodation. It had a very natural yet clean feel to it. If you’re after 5 star service and morning buffets brought to your door, this is not the place, but if you want a clean, traditional experience with ease of access to a great beach, this is the spot. 

The Truth - Otres Orchid

After a well-known retreat, operated from everythang, we passed the road and found this charming little hotel of comfortable bamboo bungalows, to the friendly welcome.

We were supposed to stay 3 nights and finally stayed 3 more. Basic bungalows ideally located 2 feet from the sea (just a dirt road to cross). Superb beach. If you want to have an authentic experience this is the ideal place. A small haven of peace. A small safe hotel. No feeling of insecurity. On the other hand, there is almost no derby. Don't go there if you are looking for air conditioning and a pretty clean place because you will be disappointed.

Authentic bungalows 2 steps from the sea

It's just a bungalow, like a shallash))) if you're bothered by insects, lizards and frogs, it's not for you!!! It's a little confusing brown bedding and scratching instead of blankets, there's no hot water, but it's not needed!
