Definitely dated and not what you’d call a nice motel but the price was good and the bed was comfortable enough. Not the cleanest motel , smelled very musty and old. Noisy neighbours and bring clothespins if you stay here because the curtains aren’t big enough to cover the window. No window covering in the bathroom either.
Host/owner was nice enough.

My husband and I stayed here for three nights in August, the weekend of the Tri Lobster race.
The room we stayed in was very dated, but had everything we needed and then some! The owner was there to meet us every morning for breakfast (a huge continental style “buffet”) and very personable. He had great recommendations for our rainy day activities too. 
I would stay here again, though it may not be my first choice....

Dated But Friendly!

ok  so I have stayed here for three years in a row on the same weekend and it just keeps getting more run down each year. This year we had a 2 rooms including a kitchen.
T.V.  8 channels
Oven in the stove was so dirty that we had to turn it off because the smoke alarm sounded
you pay before you stay and 3% is added for credit card payments
never enough towels , had to go to the office three separate times  to get more
I've had a sore back ever since I've stayed there because of the beds

Getting really run down

I can’t recommend this place enough to people who want to save a little money, yet are skeptical of what that really gets you.
I have been here twice now. Once in 2017 and again this year, July 2019. 
The first time was just my mother and I. And we LOVED IT. This time I was able to bring my boyfriend and his mother. And I’m glad I brought them here because they loved it as much as I did.
The staff are always extremely friendly and provide lots of suggestions on places to go. And I was greeted with the exact same hospitality the second time around so you can count on on consistency.
It’s a motel, it’s not the ritz Carlton. Don’t go in expecting chocolates on your pillow (I’m saying this because of some of the reviews I’ve read... get real people) 
It’s a great place to stay, and is in a such a great location - centrally located to lots of great amenities on the center part of the island. 

We saved so much money on dining out because we took advantage of the kitchenette available.

Let me put it this way, we were supposed to spend the last three nights of our vacation in Halifax at two different locations. We cancelled them and just stayed on the island until our flight day in Halifax because we loved the motel and the island so much.

Thank you Anchor Motel & Suites for being so hospitibal and proving to my friends why I love coming to the island so much. 
Any time I get the chance to go to PEI, your motel is where I will want to stay every time.

I wouldn’t want to stay anywhere else.

My husband and I stayed here in July of 2019.  While the motel is dated, it's clean and quiet.  The owners are very nice and happy to make recommendations for places to eat and attractions.  The included breakfast is basic but enough to get your day started.  Murray's bran muffins fresh from the oven were wonderful.  The motel isn't within walking distance to restaurants but Summerside is just a 10 minute drive.  Our room had a king bed, sofa, fridge, microwave and coffee maker.  A hairdryer was also provided which is greatly appreciated when travelling by Motorcycle!  Lots of hot water and water pressure was also nice.  Some small hotels have a hard time with that.  We were very comfortable here and would be happy to stay there again!!

Motorcycle Trip

A poorly run motel with an unprofessional host, and unfortunately, understaffed. There is a bunch of "undesirable" locals that live there permanently. The office is always closed, and the owners wife wanders the outside of the motel constantly. Availabilities of rooms, are last minute and "up in the air". The host has an unfriendly, unorganized manner about him. It is located on a highway, so you will constantly hear semis and traffic, the walls are paper thin. Depending on the time of the year you go, it will smell like rotten fish and cow poop, because it is beside a farm, and down wind of it too. A motel is supposed to be a cheap place to stay, not a place you have to worry about leaving "spotless" when you leave. Avoid this motel, it gives PEI hospitality a bad name. Enjoy your tour of PEI elsewheres!

This place gives PEI hospitality a BAD name

We booked this motel and when we arrived there was a sign on the side of the road announcing a discount of $10,00 for the night. When I made my registration I asked to have that discount applied which the owner refused explicitly. He pretended that he no longer had a basic room at this price and that's what we had, when I told him this he changed to say that it was on a different kind of room, in short he didn't want to consent to the discount. In the evening there was only about half of the unreserved units left.

A proper, clean motel with a good choice for lunch

Very clean room some are equipped for cooking, breakfast included very copious at will which is rare, for 115 dollars taxes included, for me it remains a bit expensive, despite the lack of pressure for the shower.

Very good establishment

The owner offered us a good price, which included lending us a little fridge. He gave us a discount because we didn't eat lunch, but he didn't lend us a fridge because of the discount. There's no water pressure, so it's not obvious to take a shower. Then he offered us ice cream for the fridge. Then before I left, I asked him for ice cream, and he gave me a little bit. If I wanted more, he could sell it to me. Plus, he charges 3% when you pay with a credit card.
