First time visiting Hyatt Place Ottawa West. Love the decor. Hotel was opened in 2021. Room has nice bed and sofa bed. Room is adequate size. Pool was not working but hope it would be fixed soon. Staff are friendly. Location is far from downtown, but it is accessible with car and some what doable with OC Transpo.

Beautiful Hotel

I went for a hockey tournament with my school’s team.  It was in very good condition and the staff was helpful.  The rates were very reasonable, and the rooms were spacious.  Each room had a sitting area which included a sofa.  The quality of the construction made it such that very little noise could be heard from the hall.

Pool was completely drained with no sign of maintenance work. We were not informed of the pool being out of Service at booking.
They offered for us to swim at a nearby hotel to compensate. 
Other than this set back, the rooms were spacious and comfortable, the breakfast was delicious, and the gym was fantastic.

This facility is clean well maintained and modern.
The staff are professional, accommodating, and super friendly. We enjoyed our entire stay immensely. The only downside to our trip was the fact the Rangers lost to the Senators 6 to 2. 

Lovely stay!

Hotel is very well maintained and clean.  Rooms are clean and kept very updated as well.  Bathrooms are clean and well equipped with the basic needs.
Surrounding area of the hotel are also well kept and parking has decent space to accommodate a good crowd.  Complimentary breakfast is a good thing, but there are other eatery options around as well.

Good decent hotel

Staying from December 27th to 30th. Well located, nice comfortable room, good Wi-Fi. Pool of cold water and lack of towels during our stay. Lunch can be improved, no pancakes or waffles, just one morning, golden bread.

Well, the pool is cold and it's hard to get better.

The hotel was modern and clean. The room was fine. However, we were with a group and were treated very badly. We had a few simple requests, and we were not accommodated in any way. For example, we wanted to share pizza and were told if we ate anywhere other than in individual rooms, that we would be kicked out. There were ample available communal rooms that we could have used but there was zero negotiating. I do not recommend this hotel based on terrible customer service.

Terrible customer service

Rude and unhelpful front desk staff and manager. Pool out of clean towels multiple days in a row. Front desk said they were out of towels and couldn’t get more. I had to walk back to my room soaking wet. I was asked to take my trash out to the dumpster myself. 

Front desk staff rude and unaccommodating

Rooms are clean and spacious.  Beds are relatively comfortable.  Breakfast is pretty good (french toast was the only breakfast item that needs improvement, rest was very good).  Very clean, and very helpful and friendly staff all around.  There's only one restaurant w/in walking distance, and it's pretty good, I ordered takeout there twice and brought it to my room.  There is a gym and swimming on property, but I got too busy to partake and check those out.

Hyatt West is great for business travel

Rooms were fine in itself. Appeared clean. 
Pull out couch cannot be used for an adult because they are so thin it’s like sleeping on springs. 
Pool was so cold my kids had blue lips within minutes.
We were put beside the elevator amongst a large group of hockey families! They were partying in the hallway for hours each night of our stay. It was awful. Hotel appeared to have little control over the situation. It required 3 calls to the front desk before the halls were finally cleared.
