My friend Lise and I stayed one night at this sweet Hostile. Candy makes the best complimentary Banana Walnut muffins. There are unique photographs on the wall.
Kandinsky the Russian painter is also on the walls in poster format. We are grateful
for our stay and would definitely recommend it.

Best Homemade Banana Muffins !

Very friendly, very helpful, very clean and great location. The owners are extremely helpful and this hostel is a winner I highly recommend this place to anyone. Fully equipped kitchen and close to everything you could need.

Great hostel

We got into Port Hardy after a 6 day kayak trip. Our return trip was in pouring rain. We were wet and tired and wanted a hot shower and a warm bed. C&N had room for us and when we got there I was beyond pleasantly surprised. We got a very, very nice private room. The showers were nice and hot. The shared areas were very pleasant and clean. The hostel used to be a movie theatre so it's very funky, but very well done. The managers of the hostel were very friendly, helpful and kind. I would stay here again in a second and I'm very picky about my accommodations.

A Diamond in the Rough

The midnight check in after arriving by BC Ferries from Prince Rupert was welcoming and efficient. We wished we could have stayed longer but we had tickets for the morning bus to Courtenay. The Greyhound Bus Station was very close to the Backpackers so very convenient in that regard. 

Comfortable & Nice

In a converted theatre, this hostel offers clean, quiet accommodations in a town which is always fully booked on 'ferry ' days. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Given the wicked ferry schedule (departure and arrival) , they seemed to be on duty 24hrs, and always cheerful. 'Single' means a bed in a dorm, if in a group try to secure one dorm room for all for convenience.the hostel offers a shuttle to/from the ferry which is 20 min out of town by car. Bedding and towels provided, well equipped  kitchen facilities. Great place for the budget traveller.

Quiet clean cheap

On my way from Vancouver Island to Prince Rupert by ferry, I spent one night at the C&N Backpackers in Port Hardy. The hostel is fine so far and for a short night before boarding the ferry is absolutely fine. I had a pleasant and quiet night. The operators are struggling for satisfaction and the shuttle bus to the ferry port is also going well. However, overall, you shouldn't expect that much. For the purpose of a short stay, I absolutely recommend it because it is also one of the cheapest accommodations in Port Hardy.
