This auberge was charming!  We usually do big hotel chains, so this was a change for us.  We arrived early, 9 AM, and luckily Donna, the owner, was near, to let us in, give us a nice tour and our keys for check in later.  We left our monster suitcases and were off to see the city.  St-Jean is a fun street, lots of eateries and shops, and with the street closed to cars it's a really fun experience, and an enjoyable walk into the main area of the city.  Luckily Donna arranged to have our heavy bags carried upstairs, where we found our room #4 and moved in for our 2 night stay.  The atmosphere is small (they had to put drawers in the walls, not in chests) but lovely.  You need to be careful not to hit your head if you get up in the middle of the night.  The decor of the rooms downstairs is really museum like...I took many photos for possible artwork themes.  The staff is very friendly, using English is not a problem.  For breakfast, yes, it is limited, but enough - juice and coffee, we had banana bread and the BEST most huge croissant I have ever had.  Since we left before breakfast on our last day we dined on our own pastries and drinks (Starbucks bottled Mocha coffee, bought at the market near the hotel) that we kept in the communal fridge.  There is a gorgeous, large private bathroom downstairs available for use - we never had the time to, walking around the city every day.  Somehow we managed to get our heavy bags downstairs - it wasn't easy on the steep, winding steps, but certainly a funny, special memory.  In all, it was a most memorable, lovely stay in a very unique setting.   

Charming Little Home Away from Home 

Quaint small B&B (only 4 rooms) within walking distance to Old  City. Caution: all rooms are on 3rd floor, accessible only by two sets of steep and narrow stairs (do not bring heavy luggage!). Since there is no reception office, if you arrive before the room is ready (usually 2 pm), you can call a phone number for help with storing the luggage. The house is well equipped: it even offered a first-aid kit in the hall. Although we smirked at this, it came in handy for my nose bleed (not related to the steep stairs).

Victorian B&B

We couldn't take our flight from Paris to Quebec because AVE didn't... Nadège cancelled our booking without charge without us asking! I don't know anyone so kind, she comforted us in our disappointment with this missed flight and we are all the more sorry that we couldn't stay in their hostel

Of course, the whole thing has a price. Is that how much you pay for the little room with the sink right next to the bed? Yes. Because next to the central location of the old town, you live right above the oldest grocery store in North America, and the whole house looks like that. Victorian style, very stylish. A pleasure every minute. A lot of public space, nowhere disturbed. A large kitchen for co-use. A large bathroom with a hot tub that you can use. And most of all, a great breakfast with style and the best Croissants in the world.

It's hardly getting any better.

My wife and I spent 3 nights in this Auberge and have mixed feelings about it. Included among the positives are: 1. the interesting collection of antiques throughout the space, 2. location - it was fairly convenient to the Old Town, and 3. it was fairly quiet. On the challenging side: 1. getting up the stairs with a suitcase was a bit of a challenge for a senior citizen, 2. breakfast was a bit of a disappointment - there was limited selection, the coffee was the Kirkland brand, and the only item that appealed to me was the croissant. The negatives noted, I would go back now knowing a bit more about he place.

Interesting Auberge

Beautiful property, great location and outstanding staff. We had access to lovely common rooms, kitchen, and a delicious breakfast each morning. We would definitely stay there again. Rooms are comfortable and well appointed. Short distance to Old Quebec.

Lovely boutique hotel in Quebec City

We loved everything about this place. It was great having total access to everything there. We came in from a damp afternoon one day and thoroughly enjoyed fresh coffee and freshly baked cookies in the parlor by the fire (which was easily flipped on and off). Access to the kitchen and outdoor terrace were also great features. Bedroom was small and cozy, but since you had the whole house it was not an issue.

Great location, all comforts of an old Victorian house - and coffee and homemade cookies in the sunroom!

Hotel in good location, comfortable room, bathrooms idem, the drama is breakfast that starts only at nine and is poor, even if you find the kindest waitress, brings you something extra, the person who welcomed me at check-in was not very affable, price decidedly high for what then the facility offers

Romantic weekend getaway

I'll keep it simple here as very accurate lengthy reviews have already been written about this B&B on Trip Advisor. This is a great place to stay. The accommodations and food both get 5/5. The host and location both get 5/5. I'm not sure what else there is to say. If two people want to go to Quebec City for a getaway, they should consider staying here. I really think they will enjoy it.
