Great staff and very clean, comfy rooms however the housekeeper came into our room twice before 8am without even knocking. Large parking lot is accommodating to larger vehicles or those towing trailers.

For one night has a hotel a RDL it does the job can not too expensive in front of highway convenient for those who go to the Maritime Grand comfortable bed with a small refrigerator Practical solo where as a couple I will probably go back next year

good price the quality of the motel

One may shy away from motels, afraid of simplicity and lack of comfort. This place is extremely convenient, right off the Hwy ramp, unexpectedly quiet, very clean, reasonably priced and well appointed. The gas station is practically in its front yard and next door there is a Saint Hubert restaurant. Personally... I could not ask for more.

Excellent Stay

We stayed overnight enroute to Quebec;  it is well located and close to the highway, without any noise.  The room was very clean and the 2 double beds were comfortable.  The a/c was a bit noisy, but it became easy to sleep, as the fan remained on and became white noise :)  It is a bit dated, but had a flat screen tv, coffee maker and small fridge, small desk, wardrobe to hang things and an updated bathroom.  The front desk is inside the St Hubert (attached) so there is a place to eat too!  It was a nice, comfortable stay for a reasonable price!!  We will stay again on our next trip through.

Clean, comfortable motel stay - good value!

I had a "guaranteed reservation" at Motel Cartier for 1 night, Sun. Oct. 3rd, that I booked through Hotels.com. I've never had an issue with this booking company and I've never stayed at this motel before. 

I planned to stay there with my 2 daughters on our way home to southern New Brunswick from Montreal. We recognized that check-in is 4:00-9:00 p.m., and that there is no availability for late check-in.

We arrived at the motel at 7:30 p.m. and decided to eat at the adjoining restaurant (St. Hubert) for a quick bite before checking in. As the motel reception counter shares the restaurant foyer, I left my daughters in the restaurant to go check-in. It was 8:17 p.m. 

I couldn't believe that the receptionist stated that our reservation was cancelled and our room was given to someone else!?! I am bilingual and yet had to have the Francophone receptionist repeat what she had said, due to my disbelief! They gave our room away. It was not past check-in time. I felt sick. 
She explained that she had tried to contact me via my mobile phone and got no response. I do not have my phone on when I'm driving, nor did I think that my "guaranteed reservation" would be in jeopardy. I have travelled to over 30 countries, and I've never had this occur before. 

We had chosen this motel for a variety of reasons: it was conveniently located along our route; the room that had been booked days prior, was going to be perfect with 3 double beds; and a relatively good price compared to other local hotels/motels. 
The receptionist offered to check other hotels/motels for availability for us. By then I was so thoroughly disappointed in how we were treated, I wanted nothing more to do with this motel or receptionist. Despite the fatigue, my daughter's and I chose to drive the additional 4.5 hours to arrive home.
I will never book this motel again.

Our Reservation Was NOT Honoured!

I stayed at this motel for one night on a road trip from Ontario to Nova Scotia. It was OK but not cleaned very well and the chair in the room had the arm ripped off so it should be removed or replaced. It was overpriced for the quality of the motel and I would probably stay in a different hotel next time I’m driving east. On the plus side, I liked having my car right outside the door 😀

Average motel!

Very clean. Friendly overworked staff. Terrible reception area combined with a very busy takeout desk for a restaurant. Staff doesn't know if you come for food or to check-in. No key available for one of our rooms. Before giving us one they made us wait a very very long time. It would be better if they let us in using a master key and then set about finding the room key on their own time. Room was hot and fridge was warm. Window behind a curtain was cracked open but locked. If I hadn't noticed we would have slept like that on the first floor in a busy area. I don't feel this was safe. AC unit in wall missing a control. Not sure if it's actually cooling or blowing in cooler air from outside. Thermostat on wall does not control the AC unit. So sorry to have to say all this as they were sweet to us just not efficient and NOT a good product for $150 per room (incl taxes ).

Hotel right on the highway and loud at night. The front desk closes at 10, so our keys were given to the Shell nearby which closes at 11 (so if you arrive past 11pm, you’re screwed). The motel parking lot was very dark, and felt unsafe. Inside, the door to the motel wouldn’t lock (missing extra security bolt as well). Tiny shower which didn’t have a proper door so water easily leaked everywhere. Poor experience

No security locks, avoid

I'm giving this motel a 4 and not a 5 only because of the communication issue I had with their reception desk.
I booked a 1 night stay for Sunday September 13th a month in advance for myself, my mother, my sister and my 2 year old niece.  We were travelling from Belleville, Ontario to Chandler, Quebec, stopping overnight at Motel Cartier.  I booked us the loft which was a great price.  I am not an expert at speaking French, but I do know some and tried my best while booking.  The first girl I spoke with had a hard time understanding me so she put another girl on the phone who had better English.  I specified the date numerous times during our conversation and gave my credit card information to reserve the booking.  About 7 hours into our drive (an hour away from the motel), I called to let them know how long we'd be.  I was told I had no reservation.  I was shocked and ready to burst into tears.  Since this girl's English wasn't strong, she put on another lady who could speak English better.  It turns out they booked me for the 16th and not the 13th.  The loft was available for us, however.  Quite frustrating and stressful when you're on the road.  When I checked in I was charged a price that was slightly higher than originally quoted the month before, but after driving for 8 hours with a small child, I really didn't have the energy to argue.
My anger and stress immediately subsided when we opened the door to the loft.  It was lovely.  Very clean and cozy.  More than enough room for the 4 of us.  The door opens into a cozy living room.  Behind that is a kitchen area with a small stovetop, fridge, microwave and table.  Off to the side of the kitchen were two separate bathrooms, one with a standing shower, one with a tub.  The huge master bedroom was behind the kitchen.  There was a winding staircase that went up to the loft which looked out over the living area.  There were two beds up there.  There were lots of extra pillows and blankets.  The beds were very comfortable and we had great sleeps.  Even with the communication and cost issues, I will be booking with them again.

Overnight Stay

The room is cozy and well equipped, except the washroom and the shower cabin. That is sooooooo tight. Other than this, the area is quite, close to the highway, and there`s a StHubert restaurant in the building. Chicken soup is good.
