Our family had a wonderful start at the Snowbird. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, going out of their way to help our young family. I want to specifically mention Anna who was so kind to our family. She helped with a late checkout request (as my work event ran longer than normal checkout) and she let our children use a newly opened wooden block set in the activity room, which they loved. The little ones were also given little souvenirs as we checked in... the small gestures made us feel very welcome.

Everything about the room was great and we really appreciate the staff (especially Anna) at the Snowbird. We hope to return in the future!

Great family stay - wonderful staff

e are travelling across different mountain bike parks and called to visit this one. Staff told me snow bird lodge is best of best on property. We booked two nights in their "best" room. No refunds so we were a little hesitant but decided to give it a go.
Immediately upon arrival, big sign says "underground parking is not available, sorry about inconvenience" never had been here before, we were concerned so I asked. I got a long confusing reply as to where we needed to park. I was so confused but asked if our truck was safe. A lady came out of back and said "no it isn't safe! That is why you can't use it". And walked off. The gentleman then again repeated instructions as to where to park. He made it sound like we were parking outside. But we found out it was just another level of underground, away from the bike lock up.
To lock up our bikes, we needed to take them through lobby and through multiple man doors which were blocked by big luggage trolleys. No one helped us get our bikes through, ever. It was so rediculous the process and we received no help.
Getting the room, it was fine. You could tell someone was just in there. TV was on and things were open. Dated and dingy. Not as big or nice as described but whatever. Not worth $500 a night we are used to. We like and pay for comfort and this was not it. We soon realized the room has no air conditioning and it is HOT in there. One fan. We went to go to bed and it was obvious the sheets were not changed. Hair in bed. Obvious print of someone laying on bed. We used our sleeping bags as it was now late and we were tired.
First thing in morning since we didn't sleep due to heat and noise, I emailed. I got a few snarky emails back saying "we told you about parking and it clearly states there is not air conditioning". I looked back, sure it says in description of room "no air conditioning on resort" but it is at the bottom and it certainly doesn't say "be warned it is uncomfortably got". There is also multiple doors to get our large bikes through and no one offers to help. If anything, they make it harder by keeping doors closed and putting items in our way. The bike lock up is other side of hotel from our truck and there is no power (heads up e bikers).
The rooms are super overpriced by would be nice in winter. Our room was 102, so a nice walk out for ski in and ski out. Option to lock our bikes up at our door would have been nice as we could have just booked out from there. Instead there was a grass area covered in dog poop with fast bikers ripping by dangerously right past our hot tub.
Worst thing was I forgot my laundry in the dryer. All my bike clothing. I called and they claim no one found it. Who steals someone's clothing!? I understand I shouldn't have left it and I would have come back to get it. But to claim it was not there? Horrible and very costly! Most places will either call you immediately or keep it in lost in found. 
Over all, this hotel gets 1 stars because location is nice and the rest of resort and mountain area great. This one need to step it up for $500 a night. We had a view room but couldn't enjoy it as we had to sit with all windows and blinds closed to keep it cooler. We would have left and gone somewhere else immediately had we been able to, but they have a strict no refund policy so we were forced to stay and no one even brought us fans for second night. Won't stay here again. Huge step down from Revelstoke, Big Star or Whistler who all charge similar prices for similar rooms and level of service. Room style and conveniences make this one a one star hotel in comparrison their competition.

Don't stay here. Horrible experience at a high cost. They claim it is their best room to boot! 

I ended up needing to use late check in (after 11pm) they made this process so easy and efficient! I arrived there and was able to park in the underground parking lot which was super clean for being a parking lot! The room was exactly as they sent in pictures. Awesome king bed with a lot more amenities in the room than I expected! The view was absolutely amazing out the window. I have taken so many pictures and sent them to friends. In the morning being able to just walk out the front doors down to a cafe (100m away) was a great experience for my family. I will be returning to snowbird lodge next year but for a longer stay. I highly recommend staying here to anyone! Snowbird lodge did an amazing job!

Snowbird lodge was amazing!

We stayed at the lodge for three nights this past weekend. This is truly a ski in/ ski out property. We rented the one bedroom executive lock-off. It was large and very comfortable. We enjoyed the private hot tub at the end of the day too. We had a small problem with our fireplace and the staff fixed it immediately. We asked for late check-out and they were able to accommodate us too. The room was clean (especially important during Covid 19).  The staff had all of our lift tickets, etc. upon arrival and this made it easy and seamless. The proximity to restaurants is excellent. We did take away due to Covid but there are quite a few choices right around the corner. The gondola was outside of our balcony. The other thing is that it was quiet. It was a great place to have a stay-cation and see a change of scenery.

Great location, great accommodation, and helpful staff

We traveled from Australia to Snowbird.  Had a great week.  Typical Canadian accommodation lots of wood in the apartments but clean and functioned.  we are a family of 6 and we all had enough room in the apartments.  Best part was the ski in and ski out and also close to the bakery and cafes.

GREAT WEEK

SILVER STAR is a small ski resort near Kelowna. El Snowbird lodge is an apartment hotel with suites of one, two and three very well equipped rooms. The service is correct. The best is the excellent location, at the foot of the slopes. Good space to deposit all the ski equipment. All the station services across the street. Covered parking.

The best skiing in and out of Silver Star

This is our 3rd visit to Silverstar and our second visit to the Snowbird Lodge.   Great location in the village with respect to ski in/out and restaurants.   Plenty of underground parking.  We stayed in the 2 bedroom executive on this trip.  It is a similar room on the back side of the hotel vs. the platinum room.   We had lots of snow last week thus the snowboarding and skiing was amazing!

Great place to spend the week

We just spent our fifth Christmas season at Snowbird Lodge in Silver Star. We will never again return to Snowbird. Over the last few visits we have seen a steady decline in the overall lodge, the rooms are run down, the housekeeping is minimal at best (rotten food on kitchen floor upon arrival, no toilet paper, ‘tidy’ but definitely not clean, and the staff are not motivated to be helpful. Makes me wonder how their wages are. I expect far more for what I’ve paid. The location is awesome, but it’s not even worth the rest of the experience. I’m glad I’m not an owner at Snowbird Lodge, and I’ll never again be a guest. 

Never again!

We arrived earlier then the strict 4pm check in time.... after a long drive, we needed to use the washroom. Figuring they had that in the lobby like any other normal hotel much to my surprise, instead of giving me a key to the gym area/common area she sent me outside in the pouring rain to another hotel... like are you serious !?!? Did I LOOK homeless?? Wow.  

Front desk service was cold at best and they seemed indifferent whether you stayed with them or not....  not used to feeling that to be honest as obviously I travel a lot....

Room could of been much cleaner, when we moved the coffee table  it was evident it hadn't been vacuumed underneath for QUITE some time and if you had a detailed look around, you could notice areas that needed attention as well.

View out the back was nice, but noisy and everyone who was on their patio could be heard very clearly as everything echoed off the hillside.

Village was small but quaint.

Cons:  When we came into the hotel, the hallway smelled bad.  When we arrived at the room, #206, it smelled bad too.  There was a musty smell under the sink in the kitchen plus the carpet looked very old and dirty.  Once I sprayed perfume all over the carpets and open the windows, it smelled better. I had to keep the windows open the entire time.  They need to renovate and replace the rugs! They need to do some deep cleaning too.  It was dusty in certain areas and the drains could be cleaned.  

Pros:  The location of this hotel is excellent. We could ski in and ski out and there were lockers for our skis in a separate room that were secure. Restaurants and cafes were right next door.  There was heated, underground parking too.  The room was fairly clean (but not excellent) and well stocked, and there was a hot tub.  The cabinets, countertops, appliances, baseboards, paint, sinks, tile and bathrooms are all very nice and new looking and the hotel staff were friendly.  

Honestly, for the price, I expected it to be better than the Fireside.  My suggestion is to renovate the floors and adhere to a little bit better cleaning standards and this could be an amazing hotel.  I think I would rather stay at the Fireside.  It's cleaner, newer and doesn't smell, plus it's less expensive.  The only downside is that you can't ski in and out there.  You have to walk for about 5 minutes or drive across the parking lot.
