My mother stayed in this hostel and went with my children to see her and there was a swimming pool there obviously the children wanted to bathe but they wouldn't let them, since my mother didn't go to bathe, if she asked them for flexibility and there wasn't, apart from that they indicate that children under 12 are not allowed in the pool, that is, if they stay with family the children can't use the facilities.... That is discrimination against children...

My parents and I stayed at Hostal Kay during the solar eclipse. We loved it. My parents had a private room with a private bathroom and I had a private room with a shared bathroom. Katerine, the owner of the hostal, and all of her family were very, very welcoming and looked after us all the time. We felt immediately at home. The location of the hostal is excellent, ten minutes walk from the central square the Plaza de Armas, but also on a quiet side street so it was easy to get a good night’s sleep. The hostal decoration is very cosy, with a wood-burning fire, and spotlessly clean. We really enjoyed the breakfasts and often had warm, freshly-baked bread. We also liked the fresh mint/lemon balm tea. Nice sandwiches and drinks were available, which we had some nights (the beer is local from the Elqui valley). The internet was very good, showers were piping hot and there is a relaxing and pretty back garden (with a swimming pool). We went on a tour to see the Elqui Vally, and the tour company was directly in contact with the hostal to make sure the pickup time etc was coordinated. We really loved our stay and thoroughly recommend Hostal Kay!

Wonderful stay at Hostal Kay

Although it is an orderly, clean, and interiorly beautiful hostel in its common spaces, it has certain limitations that make it uncomfortable.The check-in is late and there is little flexibility to enter earlier.The check-out is at 11am (super early as usual in this item) and in addition if you sell at night you don't want to give a key and you should call to open the door, an uncomfortable subject.The breakfast, very normal, was supposed to be highlighted but the truth is nothing out of the ordinary.

Beautiful but limited.

I love the hostel, it's very friendly, it's very clean, it's very nice, it's very well-groomed, it offers herbs if you need them, and it's very convenient.

It's a central hostel in La Serena, you're a minute's walk from the municipality.The place is clean, served by its owners (very friendly by the way).The attention is personalized, make you feel at home.The breakfast is very rich and blunt.You have a bill if you're on a business trip.The only thing my room didn't have were hangers, which is very useful because when you travel you want to get your things out of the suitcase and not get bored, adds to hanging your jackets and those things, otherwise a 7.

Good stay at the hotel.

It is served by its own owners, which is usually synonymous with excellent care in most cases, and Hostal Kay is no exception. They always greeted us with a smile, they knew how to recommend the best excursions and places to eat. The place is very beautiful, cared for and clean. The location is not the ideal, but not bad.

It is excellent.

My girlfriend and I had only planned on staying at this hostel for 2 nights but then I got sick and we had to stay a further two nights. The owners of the hostel were absolutely wonderful! We owe so much to these amazing people. They offered help in so many ways including cooked food and drink which aided my recovery and got us back on the road. This place is in a great location, it's quiet, spotless, and very comfortable but most of all you are welcomed into the home of a truly lovely family.

Wonderful hostal, wonderful people

We stayed three nights in this hotel and we loved it. The boss is really super nice, knows very well the north of Chile and gives you excellent advice. The breakfast is delicious, the rooms are clean and our bed was very comfortable, we slept super well. We didn't expect that much quality for the price. If we go back to Chile, we will go back without hesitation.

It's a great place.

Very concerned about the cleanliness and hygiene of the rooms, near the Recova and the center of the Serena, a good and rich breakfast and a pleasant atmosphere with the administrators.
