Let me start by saying - this hotel has changed hands and is now owned by H Hotel group - the new name is Huangxin International Hotel.

Yes, the hotel is old - yes, it is not perfect and time has added to this imperfection. But time had also added charm and dignity to this fantastic property.
Especially good is the service. Every request was met with a smile and the response of, "No problem". I am here on one week of self monitored quarantine before I can proceed to my next city - because I cannot leave my room, the concierge was kind enough to go to a nearby bank and exchange money for me...now THAT'S service. There was smoking on my non-smoking floor one night, and the hotel brought me an air purifier that cleared the smell right out. It arrived about ten minutes after I complained - that was fast!
Some inside rooms don't have windows to the outside world, they open onto an indoor garden area that runs down the center of the hotel. If this is a problem, simply request an outside room when making your reservation.
My host in the hotel was Carrie. She is a gem! Her attention to details and needs was impeccable - her desire to make sure I was happy, unmatched. 
I HIGHLY recommend this hotel. It is a bit outside the city, but I saw on Google maps that there is a direct subway with a station about two blocks away.
There is a mall across the street and many places to eat visible from my window.

Huangxin International Hotel 

The hotel isn't bad, what I'm sure is not 4 stars, the rooms aren't the best, but I'm touching one that had a wall in the window, bad price, bad quality, good breakfast, old facilities and is far from downtown Shanghai, so for my next visit to Shanghai I'd pay a little more and look for another one closer and with better service, I don't recommend it.

This place is good one. Conveniently located on the main street. Good restaurants are nearby. Some shopping malls are also there. The room are comfortable and cozy. The room charge includes breakfast. The breakfast is really good particularly for international travellers. I liked this.

Home Away from Home

We stayed for two nights and we really enjoyed the friendly staff and service. They upgraded our room and cost includes the nice breakfast. Good location, near subway and streets with many restaurants, and enjoy the tasteful decor!

Very friendly and accommodating

I stayed at the hotel for three nights in early November 2013. The rooms are nice, clean, warm and spacious. The cleaning is high quality. The staff is very friendly, they speak English. There is Wi-Fi, it works well. The breakfast table is more Chinese, but you can also find European food. There are shops nearby, many restaurants. Overall, I liked it.

A worthy hotel.

I stayed  at this hotel for two nights, in October 2013. It's a very security conscious hotel, apart from the fact that we were very comfortable. The buffet breakfast was the best we had in China. The service was excellent. One of our guests hurt himself, and the bellboy, without being told , got the first aid box, and tried to stop the bleeding. Failing which the hotel, arranged, on its own, their car, to take him to the nearest hospital.  The rooms were spacious, the toilets were clean, and the linens were changed daily. And, this was very important, at least one person in the front desk could understand and speak English !

Very good hotel in its class

The usual Chinese hotel, don't wait for breakfast in western style or anything like that. The people are friendly but don't speak English. The rooms are clean, decorated nicely. If you can, ask for a room outside, otherwise it will be virtually without windows. The traffic at night is small. It is very well located, 20 minutes from Hongqiao Airport, the metro station is also nearby. If you take a taxi from the airport, follow the delivery. It costs 50 yuan. I went at night, sleeping, paid 20 yuan more.

A typical Chinese hotel.

The hotel is a typical Chinese hotel, so you shouldn't expect a Western breakfast or similar amenities. The people are friendly, but they hardly speak English. The rooms are clean and nicely furnished. You should try to get a room on the street, otherwise there are no real windows, there is not much traffic at night. The location is good, 20 minutes from Hongqiao Airport and also not very far from the subway. When taking a taxi from the airport, please count the change, the ride from the airport costs less than 6 euros, and for an airport taxi, very little. I was too sleepy to check it out almost at midnight and paid 2.40 euros more.

A typical Chinese hotel

The Hotel is a typical Chinese Hotel, so don't expect Western Breakfast and such benefits. People are friendly but nearly no English. Rooms clean and in a nice style, if possible try to get a room to the road side, otherwise no real window, in the night there is not too much traffic.
Location is very good, 20 Minutes from Hongqiao Airport and not too far from the subway-station. For taxi from airport, please check your change, the ride from the airport is less then 50 RMB and this is for a airport taxi very less. I was too sleepy to check it close to midnight and paid 20 RMB more.
