We chose this hotel because we've lived in this area for about two years and we know the district. The room is big, every day when we clean we bring one-time slippers, toothbrushes, pasta and other accessories. The windows are sealed, street noise is not heard. The stores are dense and the light is not allowed. These two factors are very good for a normal sleep. Near the metro station, a large store or an electronics market. There were no problems with food, too. Everyone is nearby.

Convenient location

Location is superb. 
Walking distance from XijiaHui subway(Line 1) exit no. 2. Area has lots of malls and restaurants. Few blocks down theres a city super. 15mins walk is a Carrefour.

Room is clean and organized. 
Very happy about accommodation but I called a couple times to check if the booking was correct. Previous reviews said to ensure the room had no smell and they were competent enough to check. Check-in/out was smooth but very little english from the staff.

Overall: 9/10
Lobby area is a bit worn down but functional. Glass elevator up front is a nice touch but also a bit old. Got the room on promo so was not super expensive and happy that I got my buck's worth.

The room was very large on the 14th floor, the carpet was a bit old, beds were wide and comfortable, without a drawer and closet with sole ante essentials. TV with only Chinese channels. Very few staff speak English (and bad) at the reception. Bathroom would be to be refurbished. Cleanliness at the limit of what is acceptable (found some women's hair cleaning around in the bathroom).

Good hotel if you don 't have big claims.

staff is very cooperative,restaurant is good 24hours taxi is available,though it is far from pudong airport but in down town marketing facility restaurant facility shopping malls bank and sub way station is at walkable distance

I mainly have only positive points :
1) Location (100m from metro / "Xujiahui" metro station, line 1 / metro station located at the crossing "Nandan road" and "Coaxi road");
2) Cost effectiveness : 50€/night (large double bed, Breakfast included);
3) buffet breakfast : english and chinese food.
If I had to underline perfectible points, I would say :
1) Personal speaking a poor English, when they manage the language :);
2) TV : only Asiatic channels;
3) WiFi : connection to be improved.

Hotel is located conveniently and easy to find with bus stand and metro nearby. Taxis are available 24 hours. Rooms are quite large with comfortable beds,
flat screen TV,sofa set, mini fridge & tea/coffee maker. Bath room is of fair size with bathtub and running hot & cold water. Wifi is free but very very slow. Standard Chinese breakfast is included in tariff.
Hotel staff are efficient and courteous. However the language barrier is there,very few of them understand English. There is a nice bar cum restaurant with a nice view.
Over all, the hotel is good for a comfortable short stay with good value for money.

Comfortable stay

New East Asia  Hotel is a good pcik in Xujiahui area, price is medium but room are good enough : it's not very clean but at least it reaches Chinese standard. So for people who don't mind and doesn't spend too much time in the room itself AND need to be staying in Xujiahui (not the most touristic area in Shanghai), this hotel is a reasonnable choice.
Internet is provided for free by WIFI, breakfast is expensive and Xujiahui is full of better options (for instance all the undergrounds malls around metro station or on Tianyaoqiao Road).
For myself, I chose this hotel only for price reason and location. However, it's possible to find cheaper option on this road (Xietu Road or Tianyaoqiao Road), but at lower standard.

Convenient hotel

The hotel is good. The room is spacious and clean. The breakfast is varied with many Chinese options. The location is close to a shopping center area. There is a metro station nearby. The attendants are attentive.

Good hotel

Spend a weekend at this hotel.The stay was not as pleasant as it could be, small room, small bathroom as well.They offered free wifi in the rooms but it was impossible.Only in the personal reception with clear limitations on English.The elevator is always busy and noisy.No recommendation.

 Disillusioned

I just arrived from my trip to China, and this hotel recommended by the travel agency, has disappointed me, not so much for the rooms that are large, but the breakfast is third world, if there was an inspection it would be closed at the moment, exclusively Chinese food, for us Westerners nothing but a quality... which I prefer not to comment on.
