It's a nice, quiet place. It's a good breakfast. It's included. You can walk in the quiet streets in the evening. You can go out to the water, get some air. There's a sauna with a swimming pool.

A trip to Savonlinna

The place is basically clean, but everything seems to be as they were in the 80's: the furniture drapes and even the TV (an old 20" tube). So, the place is in a desperate need of an refurbishment.

The complimentary breakfast was rather basic, yet still ok.

The location is quiet, the rooms are small and very basic. All in all, one can get a good night's sleep, but it still isn't worth 60 euros, in my opinion.

A Place Where Time Stands Still

Next door is a wood factory or something like that that starts working at 7am. You come and see a bunch of keys on the counter with a post it with names. There is no one. In theory, you knock on the pipe if there is no one. That there is almost never anyone. The hotel door (rather is a bed & breakfast that doesn't dare to say its name) never closes.We are lucky because if there was a man and, I suspect, who owns it. Ample. Little knowledge of English. I get the impression that your clientele was basically Finnish and Russian. Simple rooms and there is no cleaning service. It does a lot of heat inside and the windows can't be opened. Breakfast is hot, but, when you have to take the dishes to the kitchen, you can't look at the simple nature of the house.

I went to a hostel and there was no one.

I always feel sorry when I have to make such negative judgments, because I think that maybe I may have been unlucky and that others may think otherwise, but the night I spent in this guesthouse was not the best. Already the village where I slept was not a good choice, there is really nothing..it is also difficult to find a place to eat a bite..there is really nothing! When we arrived the owner was not there (and we did not see him until the next morning), he had left the keys on the bench and we did it ourselves. The guesthouse is an old one, the room was small, the curtains did not allow to darken the room to sleep well, the cleaning was not impeccable, the bathroom was clean..but above all the paddock seemed to be coming for a minute to the wrong side.. we could not even ask for the water to be moved to the wrong side of the toilet, but the pool was not a good choice, if it was not a good choice!
