What a lovely gem of a place.  We stayed in one of the cabins (with my parents in another).  Everything was there that we needed.  It had a little kitchenette, fully stocked with plates, cutlery, pans, hob, oven etc.  We had a cabin with a little ladder going up to cots on the upper floor.  We didn't need to use this bit ourselves.  The cabins are self contained units which adjoin each other but located in a way that you have a little outdoor area which feels very private.  My parents had a lovely garden area in front of theirs, some have a deck and we had a terrace.  Parking on site.  The staff could not have been more attentive.  The lady on reception spoke perfect English which did help with the more detailed things we needed to know which our French was not good enough for.  On arrival we were shown to our cabins earlier than expected and we then grabbed our picnic and sat in the breakfast restaurant area overlooking the well tendered gardens.  There is a covered pool which my parents used and they said it was very nice.  Breakfast is available if you book the previous day and is an extra cost but not much.  The bed was very comfortable and the whole cabin was spotless.  Cleaners visit every day if required to change the towels, empty bins, change bedding if needed, vacuum etc.  We had an issue with the outside light and once highlighted to staff, it was fixed the same day.  Lots of things to do in the local area.  We visited the beach a bit further along from the main town and it was gorgeous and pretty empty.   There are many many restaurants in the local area and particularly on the seafront.  If you don't eat fish or seafood, you will need to venture a bit further up the road to find something else.  It's a thriving oyster and moules farming area and as a result, the prices for seafood are able to be kept low.  Recommend the pizza place towards the very end of the road away from the bustle of the seafront restaurants.  They also do moules and frites which were the best we tasted and the pizza and tagliatelle were perfect - you will need to reserve a table in high season.  The hotel gave us some recommendations of restaurants away from the seafront and we spent a lovely evening eating at one of them up high with the most wonderful view of the sea and the rocks and of course Mont St Michel, which is only a 40 min drive away and well worth the visit. All in all Hotel Nuit et Jour is a fabulous place to stay, reasonably priced, great service, spotless environment and very welcoming.  We shall return!  Thankyou to all the staff who clearly work very hard to keep up the high standards of service and cleanliness.

What a Gem - Excellent place to stay

Very clean room. Good mattresses. Very ample lunch. Parking on site. It sounds nice when you arrive, at least at the beginning... The least: very noisy room. You hear the neighbour whispering, talking and so on... And, sorry, change the pillows! You hear the sound of the steps upstairs and the curb, as well as the sound of the bathroom water flowing (there are still noisy CHUTUNYK evacuations) Conclusion: it's good for one night, no more. I imagine summer noise. No access to swimming pools and SPAs, not described as closed during winter on their site though.

Some improvements are damaging.

The pluses: very clean room. Good mattress. Very cozy and refreshing lunch provided by the employees. Small entrance that allows you to leave your belongings. Parking on site. It sounds nice when you arrive, at least at first... The minusces: No windows, just a little velvet. So the room is very dark, the little lights don't light up the room enough and you feel locked up quickly enough, you don't see anything. Bathroom is very demanding. Room is very noisy. You hear the neighbor who is alluring, talking and so on. And every night, change your pillows! Conclusion: it's fine for one night, no more. It's more like a mobile-style campsite than a real hotel. Maybe it's better in summer... '

For one night...

We didn't really sleep much. The walls were so thick that we could hear the conversations of our particularly uneducated neighbors. Showering, water hunting, hitting the walls. Until 1:00 in the morning. The reception is closed at 6:00 p.m. Just an emergency number. Little consideration is given to our experience at the reception. The housing is very demanding but for one or two nights this may be appropriate. We consider the price ratio to be fair. The place is clean. Our experience was not in line with the other comments. We will not return.

It was an inconclusive experience.

We stayed one night at this hotel. Super stay. Clean room and very clear bedding impeccable. Real swimming pool. Very cozy little stay. Very kind and smiling staff. A real happiness in our time!!!!

We spent a very pleasant night in this hotel, a 15-minute walk from the perfect Cancale harbor, a nice room and bunk bed, a nice lunch and a very nice staff, and we recommend this hotel.

It's a nice hotel.

The reception is very warm and dynamic! Buffet breakfast is very good. The cleanliness is impeccable. Unfortunately the compliments will stop here...even if it's only a 2*... the rooms are exquisite, without a minimum of decoration... the very worn towels are too dreary you'll have to think about changing them... ask for towels for the pool they're more pleasant to use... a passing hotel... but to stay.

Very friendly welcome, but that's not all...

Very nice place with an exotic character, lots of greenery and small 1-storey bungalows for the rooms. Parking for cars in the complex, near the rooms and the possibility to put the bicycles in a safe place for the night.

Lovely landscape.

This small hotel located not far from the centre of Cancale is a haven of peace in a beautiful wooded park where the beautiful covered pool sits. The rooms are small but comfortable and clean is impeccable. The bathroom is functional and properly equipped. Very good and cozy breakfast in the form of a buffet; the reception is friendly. In conclusion La Maison de Lucile is a very good address for a few days' stay in Cancale!
