This is a lovely place for a treat.  Proprieteurs are Anglo-South African and they present a truly French haute cuisine.  We have dined several times at the Hostellerie since Sim and John arrived.  He is a very imaginative and talented chef and she a very welcoming and attentive hostess.

Dinner at the Hostellerie in late November was a pleasure.  Vin chaud kept out the wintry chill, and a lovely main course of (sustainable) pollack on a bed of very fresh seasonable vegetables was just what we wanted.

A chocolate creme brulee was a lovely follow-on for me.  

In the winter Sim keeps a lively fire going in the dog grate of her magnificent fireplace.

A haven.  Give it a try.  Goujounac is a tiny village but it's worth seeking out: the restaurant is right in the centre.

Good food in a peaceful, homely setting

We selected the location because was ideal in our trio from Gordogne to the LOT region. The hotel IS very comfortable and rooms very news. But was really a Great surprise was the delicious dinner .. dishes and dessert . Without Forgeting the hospitality of the people

Excellent room and delicious dinner

Visited as party of 6 for brunch. Wonderful service, fabulous food, great setting. Eggs benedict delicious as was the yoghurt and granola. Loved the 3 mini pastries which were great value at 2 euros for 3. Very pretty village. Will definitely visit again when in the region. 

Great brunch

For a variety of reasons, this was our first visit to the restaurant since change of ownership..I can give no review of the hotel facilities other than it's a Logis Group family run establishment so quality is assured !
We went for lunch and chose 3 courses from the menu available (it does change every month apparently )..there is no set menu choices which is different from the vast majority of eateries in the region so be prepared to spend the sort of money one might expect to pay for dinner out i.e about 65 to 70 euros for 2 people and that was with a half litre carafe of wine rather than a bottle..starters range from about 8 euros to over 10 and main courses around 14/15 up to over 20 for a steak..I have to say I was somewhat surprised at the bill for 4 when it arrived considering how little alcohol was consumed but have no issues with the quality of the food nor the service & ambiance in a full house that particular day.
Of course, you could opt for a main course only but given the variety of set menu lunches that abound currently, I would probably not spend that sort of money at lunchtime and go for a special occasion dinner instead !
The new owners are certainly doing different things and should be applauded for that.

Very good lunch at a price !

Charming surroundings in a small village flourishing with atypical houses. Old hotel with 4 rooms with short renovation and reduced insulation (simple glazing).

Well placed but noisy

The hotel is very clean and rustic, the rooms are modern and generous, the staff are very friendly and hospitable. The food is fantastic, the menu is not huge, but everything is fresh, the quality is excellent. The service is humorous and competent, the staff is almost familiar, you get to be integrated and you almost forget that you are a guest. The price-performance ratio is very good.

A special experience

This place is a wonderful new addition to the region: great food, fantastic value and outstanding service. Because the menu changes one has an added incentive to return again and again. Friends have also told us to go for the Sunday Brunch, something new, at least here in the South West.

What a lovely change

Restroom: very average basic cuisine not worth the price of the menu at all... Hotel coté: it's even worse. Hair and hair in the sheets. We suddenly slept dressed on top of the bed. Morning shower: we had to rinse our hair in the sink because the shower was clogged. In the room the tile was broken. Bathroom and dirty toilet The breakfast: dark orange for one of the glasses served... ill after one hour. We had to stay two nights, we were on our way the next day! Run away...

Hair and hair in the sheets!

The reception is cold. We couldn't have lunch for the following reasons: - our 12-year-old son wanted the calf... more calf. Then we ask for a plate from the children's menu. We are told that the children's menu is up to 10 years old... ok but what alternative do you have... nothing? - we order a snack for our 8-year-old son and ask for fries instead of grated potatoes. The waitress who also seems to be the owner looks up to the sky explaining that there will be an extra. For a dish over 20€ I think we should be able to adapt!! Anyway we left before the welcome was unfortunate. Addition 2 and 1 abric...

A restaurant is first and foremost a business!!

Nice hotel nestled in the heart of a nice village that seems to have come out of a dream. The bathroom is a little old, the one in our room is even slightly crazy with the shower exit stuck between the wall and the small platform on which the toilets rest. Contrary to what I read in another review, the owners, Dutch, speak very well French, you really have to be ill-will (or bad faith) to not understand them. A small library is made available to customers. And the restaurant is very good too, with a lovely terrace. Frankly, I hope I still have the opportunity to return there.
