The accommodation is very well equipped and is located near a beautiful swimming pool overlooking Mt. Ventoux. Our Toutouille loved its stay and especially the presence of Illy . We really recommend the Gîte for discoverers and nature enthusiasts.

Kindness, Charm, and Spending

Two years after our last visit, we thought a little visit was a very attractive idea. We were as good as in 2014, the gites are even better! And we still eat as well in various restaurants in Nyons and Vaison la Romaine.

I'm glad to see you again!

Dreamy location on the outskirts of the very beautiful village of Mirabel-aux-Baronnies, one foot in the city and the other already in the hills. Want to move and explore? - The Gites de la Françonne are lined by a path that will take you immediately into the middle of nature. And, a little further, it is the dreamy departure base for trek and hiking, on foot, by bike or by car. Shopping and culture are also within reach since the Gites de la Françonne, in the heart of the vineyards, are halfway between Nyons and Vaison-la-Romaine, all of Orange and not far from Avignon.

Windy with full eyes (and more if you want to!)

A pleasant little gite, very clean and modern decor and furnishings. Very quiet setting on the edge of a small village. Small pool with beautiful views of the countryside and mountains. The gite is situated up several steepish steps, and the bed and sofa are all low in height so not really suitable for anyone with mobility issues. On the less positive side, the information book about things to do, and how equipment works in the house are only supplied in French and Dutch. We don't expect to find English everywhere we go but it would be a nice addition. The owner is fluent in English so should not be too arduous. Through no fault of anyone's the WI-fi connection was not available for most of our stay. This was annoying as we were trying to use it to listen to the radio. The TV was a right off. No instructions in English, the lady said it was very complicated to set up. She did come and show us eventually when we had yet another night with no radio. Unfortunately it was impossible to get it to work again the next day so we gave up! Cooking arrangements were also a little odd. Lovely electric hob, but the microwave was stored in a cupboard and had to be removed to use it. Worse of all, the electric oven/grill was stored in a high cupboard (had to stand on a chair to remove it). Needless to say we only used it once! Very nice bathroom with a good strong shower. Only 2 of us so space was ok, but would be a squash with kids too.

Hiccups in Paradise

The apartment was clean and well equipped, although relatively small for 4 persons. BBQs are available. One can use the washing machine (contribution of 5 euro). Bedding and towels to be rented for 15 euro pp optionally. 
Swimming pool has a great view on Mt Ventoux. There are kids toys at the swimming pool. Unfortunately the wooden floor in the pool area loses splinters very easily, making it a constant hassle to ask your kids not to walk barefoot. Bring your pincette to remove splinters. 
Mirabel is a cute little village. Nearest baker is within 1km distance. Nearest supermarket at around 6km in Nyons. Many restaurants in Nyons. Disadvantage is the long time required to drive to the main highway (route du soleil).

High-quality weekly rental, fully equipped kitchen, total tranquility, large swimming pool, all-you-can-eat village with bakery, small supermarket, restaurant, pizza to take away... nice home by owner, private garden, parking, friendly atmosphere.

At the foot of Mount Ventoux

To continue our stay in South-France we found these Gites and booked one last-minute. We encountered great hospitality from the owner, an excellent equipped gite and wonderful nature. The kids enjoyed playing and the swimming pool (although the temparature of the water can be challenging early May). We loved the beautiful surroundings. Nyons and Vaison la Romaine (both within 15 mins by car) are lovely places with delicious olives and history. The Mont Ventoux is always there and close to the property. The only downside of the gite was the size of it. If the kids are not too old (and preferably no rainy days) you can do it. 

The weather was great. They told us that it's always like that, so heavily recommended!

Wonderful hospitality in an amazing environment

In late March/early April 2014, we stayed a week at Gites La Franconne.  The location was excellent, just up a small hill about 1/2 mile from the center of town. Close enough to stroll into town, but far enough away to be tranquil and away from any traffic.  Our host Juliette was very friendly, gracious and most helpful with information about the town and region.  

La Franconne is 3 gites, each with their own private patio. Each self contained until had a big double bed, sofa, table and 4 chairs in the open living area. A separate bedroom contained single bunk beds and would be perfect for families. The kitchen had everything one needed to cook (cooktop, m/wave, convenction oven, fridge, coffee maker, toaster, and enough plates, utensils and cutlery for 6 people).  The bathroom was spacious with shower, toilet and sink. The patio contained a large table and 4 chairs for relaxing under the arbour!

The property neighbours a vineyard so there are wonderful views out onto the countryside and in the distance is the imposing Mont Ventoux.  Wonderful.  The property also contains a swimming pool, but our visit was much too early in the season for the pool to be open!

The units were CLEAN, neat, tidy and very well maintained. The furniture is in very good condition and everything met or exceeded all our expectations.  We opted to "rent" bedding and linens from Juliette and this was well worth it.  All were clean, fresh and stylish!

We do not hesitate to recommend La Franconne. The setting is perfect for couples, small families or groups travelling together.  The town of Mirabel is charming and has a wonderful bakery and grocery story.  As noted, the owner and hostess Juliette was charming, gracious, helpful and eager to ensure we had a good stay.

Amazing - Tranquil Stay at La Franconne

In the midst of the Baronnies Hills nereby the Mont Ventoux, you will find the 3 La Françonne gites, only 500 meters from Mirabel aux Baronnies, close to Vaison La Romaine, close to Nyons. 

Each gite is suitable for up to 4 persons, with a fully equiped kitchen, air conditioning, a private garden and a wonderful swimming pool with a view on the Mont Ventoux.

Stefan and Juliëtte, the owners, are very nice. They are always willing to give you good advice concerning nice spots, good restaurants or whatever you want to know.

They are Dutch and speak fluently French, English, German and Dutch.
