The house is amazing and we have stayed there 4 times now. It's in a large garden and there is a lovely walk down to a big lake with huge frogs. The rooms and the self catering are all great. Try it, well worth it.

Great place to stay. Rural and scenic and very unique also.

One night in this beautiful haras very well maintained with superb horses, a professional welcome, remarkable cleanliness from the entrance and to the room. Very cozy decoration. Very comfortable. Everything is made for rest. Simple but fresh lunch. We would have taken a bread supplement, but no one for the service. Not suitable for purists frequenting the guest rooms (owners barely visible ), but for us it was perfect.

Fantastic place and location.

Very comfortable and extremely clean rooms, a very complete breakfast, a park full of serenity and beauty with free animals, a large swimming pool...a haven of peace to which we will happily return.

Everything was perfect.

Three lovely castle nice breakfast room limit...without explanation you have to dig around to get by..the owners are not made to hold dhotes rooms we feel good that they chose this option for the money to come back and not for the human side..the park with the horses is very clean..the bathroom is big with bathroom and toilet connected..laughter guaranteed...

Yes, but...

We booked this place in January 2019, without reading any reviews. Being our first time in the South of France, we were taking a risk. 
We arrived the Château quite late on Tuesday night, Gabrielle was there to welcome us. In fact she came to meet us outside by the car, she was very warm indeed. So in our minds we thought so far so good. She showed us around and then to our bedroom. Our room was beautifully decorated, my hubby was particularly impressed with the wooden floors, I was impressed with everything really, especially the little tray on the side table with the welcome note and a chocolate.

We were in South of France for a wedding, so we had the opportunity to visit another Château which was equally lovely, but there was something about Château Bellevue that differentiated it, It was homely, it was serene and Gabrielle and Urs made us feel welcome. They have beautiful horses, a pond, a home cinema and a large games room. They saw us in the mornings and stopped by for a chat. Gemma was the cook/care taker and she was such a lovely person. She knew the best places to take photos too. That is important for me :-).

The Château has a nice pool, unfortunately we didn’t have time to take a dip. There was soo much we didn’t explore while at the Château, which is ok, because we need another reason to return some day.

We spent 3 nights at the Château, when we drove out on Friday morning after checking out, we were very glad we by stayed at Château Bellevue.

A Hidden Gem in St. Avit

Beautiful frame and building extremely well renovated Perfect cleanliness and hospitality as well very large room with charm decent room reserved via booking and not cancellable... despite my phone call... I paid two rooms for not using one... I would have liked a gesture

Three good standing

A very beautiful 19th Château very well preserved and maintained. Spacious rooms, well decorated and comfortable. Located in a forested and quiet countryside near Chalais and Aubeterre it is an exceptional resting place. The owners, Swiss, are very welcoming and courteous. We went there in December which is not the best time for nature, in summer it must be a wonderful place for a stay.

A Lovely Institution

This is an absolute gem . The views are amazing and the chateau is gorgeous and packed full of lovely antiques and interesting art work. The owners were very helpful and friendly and definitely enhanced our stay. Small extras like a fridge to store drinks, glasses provided and, a beautiful terrace to watch the sun go down were really appreciated.To have such a beautiful pool included in the room price was the icing on the cake. We were attending a family wedding nearby and this was a lovely start to our visit.

Perfection!

The location of the chateau is brilliant. On a light hill, you have a view that we enjoyed very much. The staff were friendly. The exchange with the owners was also valuable. The quality of sleep is enormously high because you have peace and the beds are very comfortable. At breakfast, there are the things we needed for breakfast. Everything is right around here.
