Mark and Cathy are the kindest hosts we have ever had; nothing was too much trouble and we had the most relaxing holiday (I think the kids were even more sad than us to leave!).  The thing I most appreciated was that they took the time to think about what we would need from our holiday - especially understanding about going on holiday with young (noisy, and crazy!) kids.

A little gem!

This was my 4th time staying in challet Himalaya and it certainly won’t be my last. 
Mark and Cathy run an excellent clean tidy, well furnished chalet with 5 star facilities.

Cathy is an amazing chef with top restaurant quality 3 course evening meals served out around a huge comfortable dining table. They serve quality wine and cheese with every meal also.

Mark’s knowledge of the area is first rate and he is willing to ensure everybody has a excellent holiday experience in Les Arcs.

My favourite chalet holiday.

Lovely chalet and good location with good facilities including hot tub.
Owners not child or young adult friendly.
Food home cooked but the food was terrible.  Raw chicken served.
Totally inflexible with dietary requirements and very odd menu combinations.
The chalet has the potential to be good but could not recommend because of the quality of food.



Not a warm welcome 

The website promised high standards, but in reality, I was disappointed by the delivery. There was no welcome meeting to acquaint the guests with the chalet, the resort, the day off and such like, so things were fed in dribs and drabs to individuals

The food quantity was very poor as was the quality. I do not expect to have a burger, albeit local sourced meat as a substantial meal after skiing. Coffee and chocolates as mentioned on the sample menu were never delivered and the cheese board lacked any biscuits until requested and ran low of cheese on the last day. Wine with meal was limited in that we kept having to ask for refills, no croissants at breakfast only bread, limited alternatives for those of particular dietary tastes. 

Having been to many chalets, this was the first in 20 years where the staff (owners) sat with you at dinner and ate. I personally wished to chat with my friends on holiday and felt the imposition at dinner was an embarrassment and our group openly laughed about whom had the naughty seat next to the owner at dinner! 

The hire shop recommend is part of Inter Sport chain, but not offering online ordering and thus prices upon return of skis at end of the week are a minimum 10 Euro more than the one 5 min walk away This is not informed to you on arrival.

Major concerns around PCI compliance and the writing down of credit card details with no clear policy or confirmation of compliance in destruction of details.

Rooms were very lightly serviced if at all, as some guest’s empty cups were left and toilet rolls had to be sourced from communal alternative.

WiFi was very poor throughout and simple positioning of WiFi extenders woudl help provide rooms with WiFi access.

I can see the owners are friendly and wish to be helpful but all in all the web site promised a high standard of service and for the financial outlay and position in the village I was disappointed.  It may be suitable for some clientele but unfortunately not for my future requirements.

Mediocre Chalet

It's perfect to enjoy the mountains in the summer, a very nice Jacuzzi and spa, a nice terrace and beautiful scenery, a clean room and a well-equipped kitchen, free WiFi.

Very good weekend at the Himalayan cottage

First time as a family trip but 11 th time for Andy which shows how wonderful this place is. Mark and Cathy are lovely hosts, delicious food,fantastic location, near the ski lifts and perfect for family or groups of friends, on our way home now but missing them already! We'll be back!

This is the fIrst time we've stayed in a chalet & we're very impressed. Experienced great food, comfortable rooms & great hosts. Cathy is a fab cook & Mark is a really helpful English owner. Enjoyed meeting the assortment of other visitors too.
