So disapiiting place. 
The ownder doesnt come to welcome and has a help tgat doesnt soeak english. 
No light at night a very dark. 
Did not turn the heat at late Sep even if we asked. 
WIFI is not working! 
We ran iut the day after. 
It is a simple bed and breakfast.

This property is a lovely old private manoir with added rooms for guests. We had the family suite with a large double bed and in the sitting room two small sofa beds. All was renovated to high standard. A few things missing, but they are working on adding a closet for hanging clothes. Wifi worked fine for us, pool was really lovely and clean and the garden! The housekeeper we spoke with discreet but helpful and cheerful. Breakfast was continental with a yogurt. Secure parking on the grounds. If you have mobility problems, the family suite might not be the best choice as access is from a narrow wooden spiral staircase and the bathtub in bathroom is a sitdown affair and slightly hard to get in and out of. Would have preferred a shower stall. But not really a problem for us. This is not a hotel, but a private house with rooms. Everything was fabulous!

The house is lovely however. Rooms are accessed via steep spiral staircases. Not suitable for people with limited mobility.
Breakfast was basic with no flexibility on time.
.Room not cleaned daily,  not well equipped ie limited storage, no fridge in room. Shower hand held in bath. 
Housekeeper did not speak English and the owner was was not welcoming and distance themselves from guests.
Dangerous access to property.

Poor value

A beautiful villa immersed in a large park with a swimming pool: it could be the perfect place to visit the castles of the Loire but there are many pecques. First of all, the welcome, requested to the governess who nevertheless speaks only French and who does not reside in the house should be notified in advance of the arrival (I said that I would arrive between 16 and 18, being around in the car I can't EXACTLY know the arrival time but we still had to call and wait).

It Can Be Improved

However, the Hotel is really beautiful... a mansion of 700/800 elegantly furnished, with a very large and well maintained park, accessory pool, our breakfast room looks like one of the castle's gala halls, all really from Favola. The location is strategically located to visit the castles of the Loire, Tours with its culinary proposals is only a few minutes drive away. The Hotel has 5 rooms of which 3 in the central body (probably the double rooms) and 2 (the familiar ones) in the dependency, our room in the central body was tastefully furnished, bed with a rigid mattress and various cabinets where to store our things, the spacious bathroom equipped with a bathtub in the summer where there are no protections for clean pancakes (not so much water) and the bathroom is not too hot to do so much.

Beautiful location and surroundings, perfect for a visit to the region. The building is charming, full of feeling of old traditional Europe. The pool area is very inviting and the garden terrace looks out over the mansion park (ask for a room with view on the pool). We only stayed one night, and were well taken care of by a very efficient housekeeper. Breakfast was fine, although not fantastic (croissants, bread, boiled eggs, and unfortunately the coffee machine did not provide very good coffee).

As for this mansion, we must distinguish between two things: the mansion itself, its origins, and what the new owners do with it. The building in its juice reveals a certain charm that many homes of this type no longer have. The property itself is of a beautiful beauty and a real romanticism (in the historical sense of the word). On the other hand, and this is where the mansion itself is seriously deteriorating, the new owners have not quite understood the meaning of the word guestroom. All to please, and yet...

Very nice mansion set in a tree-lined park. The interior is decorated with taste in symbiosis with the construction. Beautiful bedroom, comfortable. Spacious bathroom. Wifi in good working order. Large secure interior parking.

Charming manor and perfect service

Nice mansion in 1 very nice property,increased by a heated swimming pool, where you can find all this French elegance  which we personally are looking for.Good location for visiting the castles but unfortunately no nice restaurants in the village which involves a car ride in the evening to restore. The rooms are pleasant and clean.The owners have changed over the last few months and the reception is provided by a charming woman's room.

An elegant manor house

The Manoir is a beautiful property in lovely grounds with a swimming pool and several acres of woodland. 
 Our room on the first floor was reached by a narrow staircase which was a little difficult to negotiate with heavy luggage but was beautifully decorated and had a very spacious and well equipped bathroom with good toiletries, a decent sized bath and plenty of piping hot water. Breakfast is served in a very elegant dining room - a help yourself affair with a wide selection of fresh fruits, croissants, chocolate pains etc... 
 Our only real criticism concerns the location. Whilst ideally situated for visiting many of the Loire chateaux (particularly Chennonceau and Amboise - both mind blowing), Larcay itself is very quiet and strung out along a busy main road with few restaurants within walking distance. There is a bar across the road with a pleasant patio area at the rear but otherwise one is pretty dependant on getting in a car to find any sustenance in the evening. The entrance to the property is also a trifle awkward, being on the corner of the said busy main road.
 However, the owners are delightful and the maid extremely friendly and helpful. Sadly because of the location we probably won't be returning - a real pity as in almost every other respect this is a really super place.
