Nice house, nice frame, nice decorated rooms, but wet enough for the ground floor, very nice bath towels, and just a little bottle of cold jelly for two, just too much, breakfast is good, enough, I'd like a real coffee.

Nice but can do better

Great address!! Florence welcomed us with a last minute reservation 😊 Spacious and very well equipped room. The +: bathroom in the troglodyte and small intimate terrace. We had a wonderful time. Breakfast is delicious, served on a large generous table. Florence is a lovely person, sure we will return to this haven of peace 🤗.

Hostel Troglodyte

Excellent welcome, very neat rooms, perfect little lunch, able to have the appetizer with small cakes, finally briefly the top! Troglodite rooms to snack on! Really do not miss this quiet address.

It's a beautiful place.

A fairytale place, run by a lady from other times, who conveyed to the structure her class and love for the beautiful things, from the most elaborate to the simplest. The room is huge and the bathroom is made from the rock from which you can see the walls. We also have a private garden at your disposal. You dine right outside the room, tasting the specialities cooked by the housewife, Madame Flo, and in the morning you access her kitchen where you are waiting for a rich and natural breakfast, where everything is personally taken care of and cooked. Absolutely to try.

It's fabulous.

We stayed at Clos Mariotte, unfortunately, for only one night at the end of a week in the Loire Valley. How we wish we had planned differently and spent more time here. The lady of the house was warm and welcoming and when we arrived we were due to, and had paid to, stay in an upstairs room but we visited during very hot weather and she kindly offered to move us to the downstairs troglodyte room as it was cooler. The room was perfect for us, clean and comfortable.
Breakfast was very good, the lady makes her own jam and a fruit compote to accompany the yoghurt. Wonderful and not too "hotel-like". Staying here truly felt like staying in a family home. With my very limited French I was welcomed into the vegetable patch and the man of the house proudly showed me what was being grown. Wonderful. We certainly hope to have the chance to stay here again on a visit to this lovely part of France.

Relaxing, lovely stay !

What can I add to all these disconcerting opinions, if not to confirm that the rooms are very beautiful, the beds are well laid, the breakfast is excellent and the conversation of our very warm hostess is complete calm and good isolation of the rooms, especially the one in a cave!

Beautiful rooms and charming hospitality

We had just a one night stay in two rooms with Florence at Clos Mariotte. The rooms were cool after a hot day of walking since they were set into the cliffside. Florence welcomed us warmly and we had a very nice dinner there with local wine. The rooms are very comfortable and nicely decorated with modern baths, so pretty! We loved her sweet pups and cats though she did keep them out of the way. Breakfast was delicious with a nice fruit compote to add to our yoghurt, good coffee and croissants! A very pleasant stay!

Lovely semi troglodyte dwelling and lovely host

We were convinced that we were sleeping in a troglodite room (i.e. dug into the tuff rocks) and instead ours was a normal room that wouldn't be bad if it weren't for the tent that covered the bathroom opening. But the doors don't use? The bathroom was also beautifully large and new with a nice shower but the fact that the top was open and only had a tent was a bit of a bit of a surprise. Let's say that in the bathroom a person would have the right to have their privacy!

We were just passing through Touraine and we chose to spend the night in a troglodyte guest room. It was a wonderful experience, especially since the room was very nice and very clean, as was the bathroom, very chic in their rock walls giving a very nice look to the whole thing. Our host was really very friendly. The breakfast she prepared for us was excellent. The jams and the fruit and dried fruit compote were homemade. We highly recommend this very pleasant place.

One night in a troglodyte room

A large green metal gateway to enter a haven of peace and tranquility. Everything there is thought out, cared for, worked to stay natural and enhance this naturally beautiful place. A basket of vegetables on the table that descends from the garden above the house, on the border with the vineyards. The rooms of natural materials are gentle which accentuate the contrast with the rock. Decorated with passion and subtlety, everything in its place to serve you. A small hollow, gourmet plate, the country girl to chatter, welcomes you to share the flavours of her childhood and the taste of good things. Everything in the heart of the vineyards and therefore a place of wine that rests in a single place so that you can find your own events in the stone part of the castle.
