I hate to give a bad review to any business, but our experience here was nothing short of insanity.  I knew there was something up the second we arrived when I was blatantly lied to that the credit card machine was not working and we should pay cash.  The credit card machine worked instantly and perfectly when I refused to pay cash.   

I asked for wine glasses and an opener, that I had expected to find in the room and was first told they did not have any.  And then given filthy glasses with the comment "that's all we have, sorry".  We chose their most expensive room with a panoramic view of the village, I don't know what they think people will be doing on a balcony with a panoramic view (blocked by a weedy tree) in the South of France, but apparently enjoying a glass of wine does not seem to be an obvious option.  

I asked for soap, and was told "sorry, we don't have any". I kid you not!

I went down to the pool, which was filthy!  I did not go in and promptly left that area.  Wet towels were still in the same place next morning. 

At 9:30pm we went to leave for dinner but the entire parking lot was on lockdown and I had a frantic email and phone call to the hotel which was never answered, begging them to let us out!  The only way we managed to escape for dinner was because another guest was returning and knew the secret code to the barrier.  During this time I had also ran back into the hotel office/laundry room/security video center which was wide open and deserted. The gate to the property for human traffic is left wide open day and night, as is the "office" which leads to the guest room we were in.  

After dinner, we returned at about 12:30 am, had to park on the street because of the lockdown with no information given to us of how to open the barrier.  Walked in through the wide open gate and got SOAKED by the sprinklers!  By this stage we were laughing at the craziness of the whole debacle.  

There was NO way we were touching the breakfast given the state of everything else, but we did receive a sharp knock on the door at about 9:30am asking us what time we would be checking out.

I know there were a lot more things so wrong but I will let the pictures speak for themselves.  

Worst accommodation experience ever! Fawlty Towers

To start our tour of Provence I decided not to opt for a normal hotel, but for something more characteristic, small and romantic: and it was a very neat choice, because this bed and breakfast fully embodies the idea I had made of Provence. It is a delicious green house, with few rooms and one of the most pleasant swimming pools I have ever tried. Our room was a little small (especially the bathroom, tiny and low ceiling), but tastefully furnished, with a terrace with spectacular views over the pool and the village of Saint Paul de Vence, and another terrace on the back, in which a nice and splendid breakfast was served (fantastic little fruit plate is cut and filled with dishes).

The high point of Provençal romance

The place is very nice and in perfect Provencal style. Excellent reception and care in all the details. I recommend making breakfast you will definitely be amazed by the presentation, I don't want to go into the details so as not to ruin expectations, but if you are here for a birthday or special event, you definitely have breakfast that you will be amazed by the simplicity and beauty of the way it is presented. The rooms are very nice and welcoming, not huge but welcoming. If you are in the area, I recommend it for the swimming pool that makes the holiday even more beautiful.

Provençal style

We decided to revisit the blue coast after several years and this time with the whole family. The classic hotel we opted for a bed and breakfast a few kilometers from the coast and were enchanted by the beautiful images of this chambre d'hotes in Saint Paul de Vence. As soon as we arrived we were greeted by the smile and calm manners of Mrs. Josephine. The house is very well kept and well furnished also outside, the typical French-style rooms are spacious and cozy and clean, the bathroom (with sink) is equipped with shower fittings and a small occitane bathroom set. Beyond a refrigerator and a small air conditioned TV: there is a small area of fresh milk on the side of the coast and well-equipped.

Relax and be discreet!

I stayed in this b&b in August for two nights. immersed in the green and quiet with a spectacular view of the Provence hills. Very comfortable 15 minutes' drive from the sea and the beautiful towns of Vence and Grasse. Very well maintained structure, very beautiful room, well maintained in every detail, very large and complete with every comfort: refrigerator, boiler, television, cleaning room. Very nice bathroom in typical Provence style and products from the private bathroom of L'Occitane en Provence.

A tape at St. Paul's

We stayed at the Maison du Frene for a week, this amazing Maison d'Hotes! Excellent location, run by two fantastic, hospitable, very kind, very professional people who make the guest really feel at home. Guy and Thierry really deserve the highest judgment. The B&B is full of modern art pieces, every corner brings excitement. The rooms are all beautiful and difficult to choose. We chose POP ART and it's a tripod of...pop art exactly! very spacious, clean, bright. Excellent breakfast and enriched by the company of Thierry and Guy that every morning offers interesting things to do and see.

The Commission has decided to extend the period of validity of this Regulation to the following three years:

You will enjoy it as well when you arrive as the morning or breakfast will be served on your small private terrace. This French breakfast will be composed of succulent Viennese, but also plates of fresh fruit, and the one never seen in hotels, fresh fruit and completely sparkled!! Because not only is the place fabulous but the couple's welcoming assures the management of this house is remarkable with attention and moderation.
