The previous reviews certainly are odd and may be another place listed with the same name. 

Easy to find with a sign outside. It's only 30m of the main road. 
Although the woman speaks little English she is seriously helpful. Nothing id too hard. Sometimes her son is there who speaks excellent English
There are 3 private rooms and a huge 8 bed dorm. 
We travel with bicycles and it had very good parking spots .
It's only a 10min walk to town. 
Big common kitchen.
It's very good valuefree washing machine, and great Wi-Fi.
Power and water was sporadic but that was due to a local thunder storm.

Very good place

I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy.

We stayed here in August. Our first day was fine. The second day, the hostel was overbooked and late in the afternoon, we were moved from our room to another premises.

In this premises, we had no WiFi, no air conditioning, no electricity in the room and no running water. All of these were facilities we had chosen the accommodation for and paid for.

After we left a review on our booking platform, mentioning all of these problems, you can imagine our surprise to begin receiving abusive messages from the owner on Facebook. After being questioned about these messages, he continued to send rude replies and denied point blank that any of the things we had experienced had happened.

I would not feel safe recommending this place to anyone, after the volatile and aggressive behaviour displayed by the owner. I can only imagine how he would react to complaints in person. 

All round, from the mix up with the rooms, to the events after our stay, I have to say that the owner displays a complete lack of professionalism or even basic communication skills.

Abusive messages from owner

If your paths lead you through Kutaisi - because you are flying into Georgia by wizzair, or because it's on your way to the Black Sea, or to Svanetia - allow for two days there and stay at this hostel! Super helpful staff, and a very easygoing place! They were my saviour in the middle of the night and shared a magic place in the middle of nowhere with us! ❤️

Charming place with super helpful staff

It's the third time we've been here, it's a very exciting place, I want to come back here, and it's always going to be a joy to meet and tell and show, and there's a lot of interesting things to see around Kutaisi for at least five days.

It's a great hostel.

I stayed for a day after a hike to the mountains. I was recommended this hostel by Marina's guide. I met the owners. It's David and his mother. My dear people!In general, this hostel is half a house in a alley on Rustaveli Street in the center of Kutaisi. In the rooms there is always a large selection of clean laundry, comfortable and clean toilets, there are clean big towels. A large kitchen with a refrigerator, a sink, a teapot, coffee turks for a large number of cups and plates. With me a tourist drank tea straight from 3 h cups. In the cabinets there is always a large selection of tea and coffee that the residents leave. It's unusual that men can occupy one room and add 20 calories to this place. But I didn't like it for a day.

Guests like home.

Spacious, clean rooms. Not easy to find, you should keep in mind that the hostel is located not on the main street (Shota Rustaveli ave) but on a small impasse (the exact address is Shota Rustaveli ave, impasse 8, bld 14).

The main attraction of the hostel is the host: pretty friendly guy which is welcoming you in the best traditions of Georgian hospitality.

The best budget hostel in Kutaisi

Late night arrival, no problem, anything you need, they take care of it. Staff is friendly, shoes off, clean floors, nice beds, lovely experience for my daughter and I. Thank you Old Lviv. Also location is great.

Staff is overwilling to help, share and provide resources needed.

We drove by transit from Batumi to Kiev. We stopped for one night to see Kutaisi and fly home. The name and price attracted us :) The location is slightly in the shed (our guide-guide told the owners how to get there for 20 minutes) but the hostel itself was clean and pleasant, however, as well as the staff speaking Russian and even Ukrainian!

Group overnight for 7 people

The bathroom in particular seems to have had its youth in the Stalinist years and obviously it was never cleaned. In the entrance and garden there is widespread disorder that makes little desire to spend more than a few minutes. I do not recommend this place to anyone.

What to Avoid

I don't even know what to say...good...We found friends through the advisor and called the host.It seems that we all discussed and the price is good for one night.When we arrived we were surprised by the abandoned view of the house and yard.The owner, like a cultured man, took us to the room and asked for the documents.Of the three of us only one had no passport because he left it in Tbilisi.Until then we stayed in many hotels and guesthouses, but there was enough documentation from one of us.When he found out that one of us had no passport, he said that everything could be left but him.It was our evening, because we were in a bit of confusion.Even when the taxi driver who was the most beloved of the world brought us his passport, he offered me a ticket, but I noticed that the taxi driver was not in the same situation.
