We were three and went to the carnival in Cologne. The accommodation had to be booked for at least four nights. The demands were not very high, since we wanted to stay there basically just to sleep. We had two rooms, a kitchen and a bathroom. The facility was made up of IKEA furniture where everything was very old. A basic cleaning would also be more than appropriate. On the dish there were still the food leftovers of the previous ones. The thinnest IKEA mattress was used, so you could sleep almost directly on the lattice. Since the price for the four days was very decent, I can't afford to give points here. With cleaning it could be a solid accommodation... so unfortunately no recommendation.

Unfortunately not.

When we first arrived and walked into the bathroom the bath hadn't been cleaned at all with dead insects sitting in the bath. Then in the cupboard next to the bathroom we found several cigarette buds hiding in the cupboard. The apartment was only 25 euros a night per person but expected more. Didn't have bedding for the fifth person in the apartment and had to sleep on the sofa as the bed hadn't not been washed at all.

Smell of rotting rags as yo walk in, would not go away with all windows open.  No one meets you at the apartment, you have to collect the keys miles away or pay for a taxi to have them delivered. One set of worn out discoloured towels for seven days and one toilet roll.
Serious wear and tear all around, furniture, bed clothes, towels, beds, walls, etc 30 shades of dirty white. In the kitchen glasses, cups stuck to the shelves, pots had baked on food, oven had baked on solid grime, not usable, no cleaning materials whatsover.
Bathroom had a new shower screen, everything else was manky and the toilet bowl had dark brown caked in deposit.
The apartment is in a block of private flats, we were asked for quiet time after 10pm but the neighbors had parties going all night.
The heating was unpredictable,  sometimes cold or warm, instructions to turn it on did not work.
For our stay of 7 days we had to buy cleaning products, rubbish bags, towels, kitchen towels, portable heater, cleansing wipes, desinfecting spray etc.
Good points - exellent wi-fi,  spacious rooms.

Never again if I can help it!

We were in Cologne for a week in these apartments. The bedrooms were also large and spacious. The TV always made noises when you turned it off, or 1 minute after the first morning, and we noticed that the bathroom, especially the bathroom corners and tiles, were full of black mold, which was a health hazard. Also, there were extreme lime stains on the fittings in the washbasin. The bedrooms were also large and spacious. However, some of the mattresses were very thin.

Mould, no cleaning

We stayed in one of these apartments with our friends. It was very comfortable for 5 persons. The apartment is located near to the metro station, 3 stops from the Lanxess Arena.
I missed a little bit the curtain from the kitchen which is well equipped.
In the sleeping areas there is only one kind of curtain so the rooms are so bright in the morning.
If you want to be near both to the Arena and the city centre it is a good choice.
