If you are looking for a welcoming and quiet retreat in the old countryside, Jan & Jan is well-maintained.

A peaceful place in the old country at the gates of Hamburg

The spacious parking area around the hotel alone leads to a stay. The rooms are very individually furnished, everything tasteful. Two hamburgers manage the hotel and make it good. Breakfast is sufficient, but could be even better with some marmalades in the glass. Rings around are cycling routes on the pond and a few hundred meters away you can watch the rainy shipping on the Elbe.

A hotel like you can only dream of

My friend and I can recommend the Hessbögel Pension without any hesitation. We have never experienced such a friendly welcome before. The two owners put a lot of effort into each other. The breakfast is very lovingly prepared and is tailored to personal food needs. Also, when it comes to advice on excursion destinations, you are well placed here. Regarding the location and the surroundings, one can say: The pension is right on the edge. On the property there are many beautiful and old trees. Even a small boat owner is part of it. If you are looking for rest, you are right here. But there is also much to experience in the surroundings. So is the city, the Hamburg and Buxholt stations. Pension facilities are very fast packed here: a whole class of leisure and entertainment facilities.

Excellent overall package

My wife and I were at the end of June/beginning of July 2018 in our Hessbögel Pension. Right at the time of the welcome we had the pleasant feeling of having been here several times already, and we felt at home. The host couple were always approachable and very helpful during our nine-day stay. We were also addressed from the beginning with the same name and were not as often as usual in our Zimmer 11. We lived in the garden, which is a few meters away from the main house. The room is large and modern furnished, pleasantly quiet with a separate entrance over a few minutes outside. With the telephone and a car, you can drive directly from these stairs.

Pension for well-being

We were greeted on arrival by a lady (presumably the owner) who was very briefly attached and unfriendly. When I asked if the restaurants were open on Sundays, there was no warm welcome, no question of whether we had a good trip. We were assigned room No. 2 on the ground floor. We were briefly informed about breakfast times and two restaurants nearby (at the pond, then to the right and again to the right, they will find it). When I asked if the restaurants were open on Sundays, there was a brief yes and the lady said yes.
