We stayed six nights at the Hotel Carkukche. The reception was very friendly and informative from Mr. Schmidt. We had a sense of security. Breakfast and dinner were very varied. Wishes were addressed and fulfilled. E-bikes we borrowed to recommend very much. The whole team of F. Schmidt was very friendly and always open to a short conversation.

Traditional family business with rustic style.

We were very satisfied here. Despite the pandemic - restrictions - we had two very relaxed days here. A traditional inn far from commerce and mass tourism. A real secret tip. If you like it friendly, cordial and simple, it is well maintained here. The staff (all the Schmidt family) run the pension with passion and above all fun. Due to the short stay we were unfortunately not able to take advantage of the extensive extra offer from the hosts. The breakfast and dinner were delicious and of good quality. It is sensible to book the comfort - rooms here. Overall, a good place to relax. Very highly recommend.

Tradition and Hospitality in Good Mix

I've had a short stay in the little hotel. I've rarely been so kindly received. The rooms are very large and clean. The interior has gotten a little old but not broken. Only for the old showers and fuses there is a discount point. You can renew this at a low cost and you should do that.

Something older but very cozy and impeccably clean, as well as incredibly friendly

We had booked 4 rooms for 8 people from Friday to Sunday, during a family meeting, and we had booked 4 rooms a few weeks earlier. Only when we arrived we were told that we could not eat anything at the birthday parties that take place in the inn on the 2nd night and that we could not get together because the staff would not be able to do this. YES!!! not at all, when booking you knew for sure about the festivities and you should have told us about it. Then we would not have been booked! The rooms were clean but we thought they were overpriced. The toilets that belong to the inn are only over the yard and a multi-storey staircase - but for older people who do not have a full footing room!

Disappointing booking

I stayed in this hotel two years ago, and now I am back. And I can confirm the good experience of my first time here. Lovely attention with english speaking people, since it is dificult to find places that speak english in the area, here they try to make the best, and you can see their effort. Nice structure with included sauna and interesting cave inside the hotel. Everything clean, delicious food and diversified breakfast. Options in the city included nice bike and hiking trips with many different routes over the mountains or in the valley.

Pleasant staying, high standard service.

The name kitchen made us curious. We didn't know that this name used to be rather negative. What we were expecting was a renovated dining room that unfortunately completely hides the story. The dining room has no independence. The usual screenery in bright wood. We were greeted with a good mood and not too big a card. The prices were moderate. The food came at a very acceptable time and for all of us (5 people) at the same time. The food was very good. The food was individually flavored, fresh, neatly arranged. I had a lot of hamburgers with old and a very Thuringian K. The children's dishes were a sight to behold. But unfortunately, it came with something as unusual as a snack. Okay. So the reservation service has taken care of us and a good reservation. So we can say that the dining room is a good place. The dining room is a good place, and the dining room is a good place.

Hospitality with taste, history and good humor

Leutenberg and the surroundings in the Thuringia forest offer a wonderful landscape, beautiful walking paths and an environment to feel comfortable in. Leutenberg is a pretty mostly renovated small town and the kitchen also makes a good impression from the outside. The rooms are average, very small bathroom, but well maintained and clean. A praise for the quality of the beds. The breakfast is adequate without any special features. The restaurant is slightly improved in terms of service and friendliness. The mushroom dishes are very good, the soups and kettles are good, the sauces and accessories are improved.

There's still a lot of air up there.

Of the two sermons, one was so unfriendly that we actually wanted to get up right away and go back. On polite questions we got insulting answers, which the pleasure of eating had already missed. The food itself is high-priced but of inferior quality. Cattle rolls that were so dry that even the finished sauce couldn't find any flavor anywhere. The toilet is finished, otherwise too much is unfortunately just convenience food.

Unfriendly service - Meals below average

We were a larger group for dinner in this hostel, and you should think that you'd be served nice, because we'd leave enough money there. Already on the order, I got very rude from the service, and was blown away by a request for a meal. Orginalton: can't you read, everything's in the card! One of the group ordered lamb with cloves and sauce. The sauce was undeniable, the purest maggis soup. We all tried and were of the same opinion.

Unfriendly service in the host court

This hotel is unique! The staff is incredibly competent and warm, always available for a chat and to give you the latest recommendations what to do in the region. The rooms are cosy, clean and charming. We stayed in two rooms. Both were equiped totally different but super nice. During our stay, we visited the close citys Weimar, Jena, Rudolstadt, and Erfurt. All of them full of history (e.g. Goethe, Schiller) and nice little alleys to discover the special architecture of this region. The hotel offers also a restaurant which has a fantastic chef! When you go there, you must try the "Sauerbraten" and "Roulade" with the famous "Thüringer Klöße"!
