Although I had to take a few small hurdles with the booking: my fax request was not answered, even a heavy understanding over the phone, but ultimately a call back from the hotel, we did not regret spending several nights here. Nice room, although a little small but a large bath with a spacious shower and above all a strong shower, which is no longer offered in many hotels. Delicious breakfast, even without a buffet, but individually whatever you want (more butter, stew), is done without any problems. Very nice staff. Since Monday and Tuesday rest day we could only eat very nice dinner on Wednesday nights in the inn (exterior room) but we were not too happy here.

Far from the hustle and bustle, in the middle of the woods - an oasis of calm and thoughtfulness

The good thing is that there was nothing to say about dinner. We had booked a large room for six nights and were disappointed when we moved into this room. We felt that the room was not big at all. We also felt that the roofs were hot, the room was quite heated. We also saw thick winter beds on the mattresses. Unfortunately, there was only one window with a flap, the roof windows were not. And so we found a few mosquitoes and wasps on our way into our room. We were very disappointed when we moved into this room. We could barely get another room the next day, but a small one. Since the TV was off, we had to go to a third, then another one. Overall, we saw four pieces of breakfast and breakfast, which is significantly different. What we would have to do if we had a big breakfast and breakfast in each room, and the last four rooms in the northern countryside. The first room, however, is not a small one, but we should not feel a little less uncomfortable.

For longer stay only conditionally recommended

We were welcomed with a friendly reception, very quiet location, surrounded by the forest, a nice breakfast, nice staff, rooms very clean, a good place to relax. We can highly recommend this hotel.

It's a nice hotel.

Great ambience, both in the cozy guesthouse and the beer garden with views. Very delicious food. Idyllish, quiet location. Family friendly, with a nice playground. We like to come here again and again.

I like it all the time.

If you don't like a resting place, you can drive to Stiefelburg at the exit of Erfurt on the A4. We were noticed by the large sign at the restaurant. It takes a while, but we were compensated by a great sun terrace with a great view. The food is very civic, lavish and good. The service is friendly and nice. It's worth going around the A4 if it's not to be a resting place.

Away from the A4...

We were there for lunch and the food is very delicious, but it's too expensive for my taste. Snippets with asparagus and potatoes I find 22.50 euros too much, but very tasty to recommend. The service is extensive. You are constantly being asked to order as a guest. I find this not good in a 3* forest hotel and inn. Kindness also needs to be worked on.

Lovely woodland with delicious food, but overpriced

We've been here many times and we've eaten well. The menu is small but fine. The food is usually good and tasty. This time I have to criticize a little about which is constructive. On the one hand, we had the farmers with cloves and the oxen cakes with cloves. The farmer was barbarian and not crunchy, the sauce involved was not as tasty as usual and made a long-lasting impression. The oxen cakes were good, but the sauce was a wild goose. The price-performance was thus imbalanced. This was badly better. Please restore the earlier condition and we'll be happy to come back.

Very beautiful forest guesthouse with good-natured cuisine

As long as the owner and his wife serve themselves, everything is great. Even the waiter who was seated for the family feast was very accommodating. However, even the Eastern European staff (the waiter and the female kitchen staff) do not serve breakfast. After we waited forever and finally cleared up the dishes of our predecessors and brought them to the kitchen, the staff saw that they were not obliged to bring new dishes. This we then worried about ourselves. Furthermore, we were not allowed to address the missing things in the morning, such as tea or coffee. In response, kitchen staff quickly came to a point where we could not immediately clean up a list of degrees Celsius.

Family Celebration with Obstacles

We were very disappointed on our last visit. The menu (if you can call it that) is a small flyer, the drink menu is inscribed with an A4 leaf in a transparent sheet. The food was very disappointing. My noodles were drowned in garlic oil; the fries were burned while slicing and the onions were still raw and the sauce (with toilet) for our grandson was taste neutral and totally bright. It's delicious.
