We spent the weekend there and were enthusiastic. The reception was very warm, the large room and the bathroom for the disabled were very clean. In the beds we slept very well. The free WLAN is easy to trade. The breakfast buffet leaves no wishes open. A very attentive service provided absolute satisfaction. The palisade forest can be perfectly conquered from here.

Nice hotel in a central location

Very nice hotel/location. The staff is very friendly and attentive. Toilets and rooms are clean and well maintained. Beautiful beer gardens under trees, where you can definitely stay well in the summer. Good parking options are available.

It's a very nice location.

Incompetent staff, if there ever is one. The beds are so small that you're up at night every time you turn around. The disabled room on the second floor and from 8:00 p.m. the elevator is off and still not on at 11:00 a.m. The phone number from the boss can't be released because otherwise the desert is running in your store. I'm not talking about old carpet floors and missing trash here. There are many better ways to get a fair night's sleep, as I've found out too late.

A Better Youth Hostel

We chose this hotel because of the reviews and because there are limited accommodations in Otterberg.  We were given a room on the outside balcony near the entrance of the hotel.  The room was very cold, very damp, humid and it smelled.  The decor is very old, dirty and is in need of an update.  There was no place for us to open our suitcases.  The carpet is very dirty (the corners of the room had so much dust that the carpet was black) and old, the bathroom has mold in the shower and the toilets were disgusting.  The windows do not have screens and we could not open the windows to get some fresh air.  The following morning we arrived at breakfast at 9:00am and the buffet was empty.  No cups, plates or cutlery.......we had to go ask for these items.  The staff was not polite and not helpful.  They did not even replenish the food.  When we asked for bread/rolls they said they did not have any more.  We gave an order for eggs and what we received was burnt fried eggs.  We did not eat them.  We left our plate just as they brought it.  What was left was it for breakfast  even though breakfast was still open until 10:00am.  They did not care about the rest of the guests that came after us as well.  This place is NOT worth staying.  We regret our reservation.  Even though the hotel had wifi the service was not reachable.

Stay Away

It's a very comfortable hotel and very good price ratio. Everything is done to make you feel good. For a Frenchman it's hard to get used to breakfast that's traditional German which makes sense I admit it. I advise him with my eyes closed.

A quiet place after a day's work.

First off I did not stay at the hotel itself. I only ate at the restaurant, and I did so multiple times. The restaurant itself has a decent atmosphere and the staff is very friendly. As a vegetarian in Germany I was very surprised by the restaurants VEGAN menu options, which there were surprisingly a lot of. This in my opinion is considered ahead of the times when compared to the countless other restaurants in the area. I went with my whole family (all of which are NOT vegetarian/vegan) and nobody disliked their food. I can only recommend this place.

Hotel is very nice. Clean rooms, staff friendly, breakfast very good. Rooms to the street are a little noisy. Free parking right at the hotel. Garden restaurant under beautiful trees only open from 4 to 8 p.m.

Nice hotel, weird opening hours

The bathroom is too small. The bathroom has mold on the window frames. The shower is flat, the sealing was missing in the shower compartment, the bathroom is swimming after the shower. No storage in the shower for shampoo ect. Unfortunately, you had to drop a cloth roll in the shower every day to avoid being observed by patients in the dentist's office, in the shower or in the toilet. Milk glass would be better stuffed! The room without the shower compartment... The garden bars hang through and you can't pull the curtains properly either. Absolutely dirty moar. In 3 days, not even soak up the dust! W dirty hair on this bed! I'll never enter the hotel! And all this in a 3 o'clock morning hotel or breakfast...

Never again!

We had a two-week stay here during our transition to Germany.  Very comfortable, basic rooms with great beds and clean facilities.  Wireless internet in the rooms was weak, but workable in the restaurant and lobby.  The best part about the hotel was the adjoining restaurant...great European continental breakfasts, delicious dinners and good beer and wine selections.  I would recommend this location for travelers and families while passing through Otterberg.  Can't wait to visit the Biergarten during the summer!

Great Place!

Stayed here last weekend, visiting a friend who  moved to Otterberg. I really liked this hotel. Rooms are basic, but comfortable and clean. Free internet worked well. Used sauna twice, which was great.  Had dinner here 2 nights, and although the restaurant was very busy, dinner came timely and was delicious. Service is great with friendly staff. Breakfast well done. Hope to be back soon.
