Everything is OK from check-in to very comfortable beds and pillows. The head of the house is very nice. We didn't miss anything at breakfast, eggs are cooked fresh, coffee was delicious. The room overlooks the Rhine. In the pedestrian area there are various shops.

Sleep well in the afternoons.

When you first enter the Rhine Hotel, you feel like you're in the 50s. The hotel and the inventory are so old that it's actually cool again. The rooms are relatively modern and clean. We had a room across the street with a terrace. Unfortunately, it was very unpleasantly designed. Here you could do something with little effort. Unfortunately, what didn't go down is the bathroom. This is a small cabin in the middle of the room. It was very narrow and it also smelled unpleasant. This is very good again.

Time travel to the 1950s

Cool hotel in good condition, funny hotel manager, very good breakfast. Overall, the hotel is in a clean and well maintained condition. You feel a little like a museum. Only the phone cell in the lobby is the roar. Well, the comfort is not so great now. For that, you're staying in a museum hotel.

Hotel with the charm of the '50s

It's a hotel that's been around for years, with a special charm. It's a very loving, slightly faded, slightly morbid glamour, telling the story of the rich and the beautiful in the past. It's right by the Rhine, with a wonderful view, simple and useful rooms. Very friendly staff.

A special charm

Hotel closed when we got there. Had to ring the bell to be let in. Entree was promising, but room was disappointing. Floor was tilted. Very small bathroom, basically too small for an adult. No bar, no restaurant. Excellent spot, near the river Rhein. Just cross the street and sit at the Beergarden. Weird guy who runs the place. Friendly but doesn’t seem to care anymore. At checkout he ordered his wife(?) to let me wait, because she was serving breakfast. Understandable, but the: “I don’t care if he waits for 15 minutes” was not necessary. He talked about me, knowing I was there, without realizing I understand German... Poor WiFi, had to stand in the hallway.  We won’t go back...

Out-dated

The hotel is located right on the waterfront. The Rhine is in sight. The hotel has been family owned for 4 generations. The rooms are very simple but purposefully furnished. Overall, the hostel has certainly seen better days, but the cleanliness is top notch. Breakfast is very versatile and delicious, eggs are prepared freshly as desired. The owner is a very friendly person.

Simple but good

We stayed at this hotel 40 years ago(!!). The hotel is still family run and the owner and her son were very welcoming and helpful. The hotel has a lovely feeling of space, light and cleanliness from entering the front door. The bedrooms are really nice,modern and very clean. The choice for breakfast was good and the scrambled eggs were wonderful! The hotel is in a beautiful location by The Rhein and Andernach is ideal for touring by car or rail. We were really delighted we returned after all those years.

A gem on the Rhein!

I stayed at this hotel with uncles and cousins for a weekend dedicated to a wedding. I mark it for its centrality, cleanliness, courtesy. The rooms are a bit dated but well kept. Breakfast is rich. The owners mother and son are very available and friendly. Andernach recommended a nice town on the Rhine.

Just clean and on the Rhine

The location of this hotel, in Andernach, is the best that it has, because it is located right across the river Rhine. On the outside it looks like a stylish hotel, the truth is that from the outside it is even pretty, but you're already entering and realizing that it's an antique hotel, hall, minuscule reception, elevator, etc. It's a family-run hotel and we were well served, all the time. The room, at least the one that we were given, gave the back, so you can look at the hotel, nothing, and it was small, ugly, with very old furniture. Decorated with some antique painting, a carpet, a cupboard, a mirror desk, and a table with a kind of cloak and two linens.

Hotel with nice location...but with villains and antique rooms.

The Hotel has a great location with view on the Rhein, is reasonably clean and has "ok" Prices BUT there's where the positive things end.

 I couldn't avoid thinking of the Addams family while being there. I always felt observed by the owners that gave me the feeling of being an unwelcome guest in their home instead of a neutral guest at their Hotel, but maybe that was a personal thing between me the owner (nice older lady who seems overstrained with the Hotel) and her son (who seems overstrained with everything).

The Rooms are out of a different time... the Bathrooms are built in meaning that they are neither isolated nor spacious in any way.

Breakfast was alright but nothing special.

All in all are 2 points to low but I didn't feel that it deserved 3 points given that I've never felt comfortable in the Hotel. I had a look and a small chat with the owner of the Anker Hotel next door (same location) and found that it looked nicer and was friendlier (without the Addams Family..).
