This hotel was the worst hotel I’ve stayed in all of Europe, I wish I was lying. The manager had so many problems with my and my group during my stay. I understand gas is expensive right now but the manager would go into my room at turn the heat off in my room, I’d then return to a freezing room. The manager had multiple screaming arguments with my group about the heating and he yelled at us for how much stuff we had. We are coming to Germany from North America for the winter, I did not pack lightly and during my stay yelled that I didn’t place everything neatly on the two shelves I was given for my shared two bedroom room. If you see this review, please run.

Nightmare Manager Hotel

We were with our motorcycle group (15 people) on June 22 at the Berghotel Simon. The most important first thing: The hotel is not recommended at all. We have relied on positive reviews, unfortunately there was a change of operator from May/2022. Despite booking with a flat price agreement, we were charged the following extra costs: parking fee per bike and day (unsecured parking space in the outdoor area) Extra price for half board per person and extra price for breakfast per person and day: Increased costs. We have to pay a total of € 328 more than originally agreed.

FINGERWAY of this establishment

Short stay from 20 to 22.05.22, rooms ok, very unfriendly, and shameless operators. For the hotel's own car park, 2€ per day are charged. Never return there. Breakfast is acceptable for Ottonormal consumers - no more.

Betteb OK, everything else can be forgotten

We were here over the weekend with our dog and we were very happy. There is a delicious breakfast and dinner. Nice location nice people. Rooms are good and the parking lot is large and also good for motorcyclists.

I'm glad to be back

The rooms were clean, even though the decor had the charm of the past! The rooms were also quite bright, the toilet washing of the next room was heard, just as you would feel it when someone walked down the hall! The breakfast was not really spectacular, which may have been due to the relatively few guests there, but it was all that the German eats early! The dinner was delicious, the prices were ok! Even if I hadn't expected any golden pineapple, or more expensive than deco here in the restaurant!

We were at the hotel with friends and 2 dogs, it is quiet and ideal (behind the hotel gas facilities) for us dogs. The food was very tasty and made in the Thuringian style. The hosts are very attentive and helpful, which makes a stay very pleasant.

Very quiet location

This lovely, not too large hotel is located in a remote place in a valley near Oberhof. It is family-run and gives guests a comfortable sense of security. The kitchen is flawless, and the staff is very helpful. The interior and furnishings are a little outdated, but everything is fine and clean. The price-performance ratio fits, and we will certainly return once again!

Family quiet hotel

The hotel earns its 5 stars for its quiet, secluded location, family atmosphere and excellent cuisine. The sauna area is small but sufficient. If you want it to be quiet, you should make sure that there is no sporting event in Oberhof.

Very quiet

We had planned our family meeting here this year and were very happy with the choice of the hotel. The hotel is bigger than we thought. But since we were almost the only guests at the beginning of November, the atmosphere was very familiar and cozy. The evening meal is very good and cheap, and the breakfast was also rich and good. A trip to the nearby experience park Sea Aquarium in Zella Mehlis with the whole family rounded off the stay.

quiet family hotel in beautiful countryside

I was there 20 years ago and 11 years ago, and I remembered it as a good and friendly hotel. This time I was a little shocked. In recent years, not much has been done about the building and the facilities and the reception at the border was too unfriendly. My bed was empty and the neon tube as a nightlight also seems to have fallen out of fashion. Breakfast was in the frame. The price of 41 euros in the EC for this is right.
