Yiorgos Hotel

We stayed here for 4 nights from 21st August, and found it an ideal base for us. Like others have said, the rooms are small and dated, but we found that the 80’s decor gave the hotel its charm, and although there were a couple of issues with our room, we didn’t let it bother us, as we were only there for a few days. Rooms were kept clean on a daily basis.  Air con worked perfectly, and cooled the room nicely whilst we were out during the day. Breakfast, although limited, suited us, and we were happy with the selection of Greek yoghurts, fruits, cheeses, Hams, breads, jams, drinks etc, so for us there’s no issue there. Literally 2 minutes walk to a small beach, and a 10-15 minute walk up to the harbour, and Bar Street, with a decent selection of restaurants and cocktail bars on the way. The owner, Dimitri is a really nice guy aswell and made us both feel welcome whenever we bumped into him. Check in and out was a simple process. For the money it costs, and the star rating, I could happily recommend if you needed somewhere to use as a base. The only real issue we found is that the sound travels throughout the hotel because the walls are very thin. Would I stay here again? Absolutely yes!

Ideal base to stay

The bathroom... small, old, uncomfortable, a few broken shower plates and the tent that you're hanging on top of. The nightmarish hotel

Absolutely good experience. Hotel is located near the old town (ca. 10 minutes walk), just on the corner of the promenade. Reasonably priced, breakfast was also included (which was basic but adequate: hams, cheese, boiled egg, coffee, tea, yoghurt). The room was clean, and was air conditioned. The owner is also very nice.

Only negatives I could mention are the very basic, retro furniture (and no double bed, just 2 single beds pushed together), and the noise (there are 2 vehicle rentals nearby, one on the other side of the street and one right in the hotel next door).

I can safely reccommend it to anyone.

Very good experience

I've been to Yiorgos Hotel with my friends, it was a great experience. The rooms were fine and clean, and the owner was so nice and helpful. He also suggested us some places to visit and always helped us. The hotel is located in a strategic position, close to the center and next to the car/bike/scooter rental. The breakfast was good and there were different choises. The structure is not new but the price quality is excellent. We are satisfied of our choice!

Great place

The owner, the staff are super friendly. My sister and I felt very comfortable and safe. Breakfast was also adequate and everything was fresh and delicious. Our room was cleaned daily, it was also met if you needed extra requests. I can really recommend it to everyone because the price and everything else is right.

We stayed for three days, intending to visit historical sites on Kos. This we did, and were quite happy with our choice of hotel, recommended by some friends as being very friendly.  although the hotel did not provide an evening meal, we found a very reasonable Italian, Mezzaluna, within very easy walking distance.

A comfortable, reasonably-priced, friendly hotel almost on the sea-front.

We stayed here for a week and felt very much at home. The room was adequate, with a nice balcony and view of the sunset each evening. Kettle but no tea or coffee, which was a shame. The room was cleaned everyday which was fantastic. The bathroom was fine. The shower tended to flood as the drains were blocked, the shower curtain was also just annoying. 

Breakfast was fine. Very basic and little variety but it set one up for the day and was good value when considered. 

All the staff are very friendly and the hotel is situated in a great location just slightly out of the centre but within a few minutes walk of it. 

Good Hotel

The hotel is a measure of price, needs a renovation, more plugs in the room. Maybe it gives the feeling of not being completely clean, but it's because of the old facilities. The air conditioning makes a gout-like noise, which makes sleep difficult, breakfast is very basic and there was no fruit. Nor was there shower gel and you have a heater to prepare coffee, cups and glasses, but coffee and tea you have to buy yourself. There was also a refrigerator in the room, good, but a little noisy so if you want to sleep well, you can deconstruct it. If you hear every one, every tooth and the TV in the adjacent rooms, luckily I had quiet neighbors and went in the low season, in the summer, they told me that many young people party, but I don't want to imagine.

If you're traveling uncomfortably and on a low budget.

The staff and owners were wonderful. They were friendly, helpful, efficient, and generally useful as well as kind.
The room was serviceable, nothing special. The worst things was that it was impossible to shower without creating a flood in the bathroom, in part because the shower curtain was installed improperly (too high so it didn't go into the basin but barely touched the top edge) and in part because the shower head needed to be tightened so that you could aim it. (We stayed in 3 hotels of about the same type on our trip, and all of them had the same type of shower, and for various reasons, flooding was a problem in all 3 of them!) It had a balcony and we could see the sea a block away; the balcony had a table and chairs on it, which was nice. The air conditioner didn't work especially well, but it did help. There was a small (dorm-type) fridge and an electric kettle in the room -- no coffee maker.
Breakfast was fine, but after a week, we needed some variety! The quality was good, but they served basically the exact same thing every day.
Having access to a pool was fabulous, even though it's not directly at the hotel. It's across the street and down a couple of buildings, so about a 2-minute walk.
The cleaning staff did a fantastic job and was totally trustworthy. We didn't worry for a second about our things.
The location was excellent. It was an easy walk to the city center, right along the coast if you want. The coast was 2.5 minutes away (just across the coast road from the pool), although a beach was a bit further. Excellent ice cream/bakery and a number of restaurants were close by. The town bus has a stop next to the hotel with the pool access, and the bus station (for trips to Zia, the airport, etc.) is maybe a 10-15-minute walk.
All in all, we had a nice stay for a good price, and we would definitely stay there again! We highly recommend it.

Clean and Simple rooms. Nice view from the third floor from the balcony. Functional bathrooms, unfortunately with leaking tab. In the description promised Pool usage was not commumicated. Breakfast was sufficient.
