Based on the other reviews, I think your mileage here may vary depending on which room you get.  

I do see that others who stayed in the same rooms (small, ground level, bedroom without door, only bathroom access through the second bedroom, etc.) also left poor reviews.  The lodgings we had were sub par with old and broken furniture, extremely small and uncomfortable beds, external door which barely closed, and the constant overwhelming smell of sewage really made this a less than comfortable spot.  There also is no TV if you care about that, but the wifi was excellent.  There’s also zero view, which is a shame.

Do not be swayed by the promise of a “hot tub.”  It is an inflatable affair, and is not super clean.  In addition, beware, there is a camera pointing right at it.   

The breakfast was good, but not a huge selling point for us.  

We ended up here as we booked rather last minute.  Honestly, I really regret that, because considering the lack of comfort, lack of sleep because of the awful beds, the really horrid  smell (I still think about that smell when I remember Santorini), and just the overall vibe of the place, it really detracted from the enjoyment of our vacation. 

In summary:  The location is excellent, but the place is more than a little gross. 

In addition , the price wasn’t great for what we got.  

The moral of this story is book early, and look harder for better options. 

Not the best . . .

We spent the night and nights in room one, there was a bad smell coming from the bathroom so much that we had to keep the door closed, and even today the shower curtain that was wet and unhygienic still gave off a bad smell. Worse was the breakfast that was brought to your room. There was little variety in both sweet and salty and hundreds of cents, nothing extra, no towels, pancakes filled with stomachs. Everyone had their own tastes and everything would be given separately.

It's just the view.

Smarula Villa was the perfect place for my stay of a week in Firostefani. Located right in the vietta that runs panoramically through the caldera, Smarula Villa enjoys a very comfortable position for many walks, 10 minutes from Imerovigli, 10 minutes from the center of Fira, 15 minutes to reach the central bus station of Fira from which to reach the various locations of the island. The location is enviable also for the beautiful view that is enjoyed from the rooms, in particular having requested the one with a double view I had the view on the caldera, both the island and the sea, from the opposite of the caldera.

A truly unique stay on the Caldera!

This small hotel is certainly good value and the hosts are helpful. The view from our balcony was to the east but you are right by the main path that goes along the crater rim. Although the room was basic it had everything we wanted, a kettle, cups, plates, cutlery and glasses. It was spotlessly clean and the sheets were changed during the middle of our week’s stay. Even though the hotel is so near the busy thoroughfare our room was very quiet. Breakfast was provided every morning- it was HUGE!

Extremely good value

Ideal location for easy access to all the places to see in Santorini, while being relatively quiet compared to the rest of Fira. Clean and well equipped room with the strictly necessary (enough, especially if you prefer to spend time outside to visit the island than in your hotel room).

A good place to visit Santorini

Excellent location, a two-minute walk from the centre of Firostefani and a 10-minute walk from the centre of Thira, not counting the view from the balcony and the breathtaking scenery as soon as he came down the stairs.

Two steps from Firostefani

I was with my boyfriend in Smarula Villa for a week. Excellent location two steps from both Imerovigli and Fira, located right in the center of Firostefani. Quiet area for the night, breakfast served on the terrace for the covid always excellent, nice room, bathroom a bit small. Manager very handy, he meets the needs, he helped us with the rent of the quad. Very recommended Unico neo, but I don't know how it works in the other facilities: the shuttle to and from the airport (journey of about 10 minutes) we paid well 25€ a deal, but maybe because it was August.

We visited the Smaroula villa for our holidays in Santorini. Lovely rooms, nice view, very close to Fira, walking distance. The room was very clean and Covid-19 safe. The service is amazing. We felt like being at home. I strongly recommend this accommodation as it is also on reasonable price considering the prices in other places in Santorini. Voijtek and his lovely wife Niki were great hosts. Definitely will be returning.  Thank you guys for the lovely time. 

Really lovely accommodation 

Very friendly couple who do their best to make your stay as fine as possible. Room are good and cleaned every day. Breakfast was fresh every morning and they keep asking if you need something more. They also gave us tips about the sightseeing and were very welcoming.
