5 stars to Ikies.  Their motto is "ENJOY", which we did on our honeymoon.  It was worth every penny to have our own cave house with the most specular views in Oia.  The staff was super helpful and friendly.  George helped us with our bags, which was not easy going down many flights of stairs.  Christina and Artemis were amazing hosts to help us to check in, when we needed to order food or to arrange for ATV and car rental for us to explore the island.  

The location, view and quietness is perfect for honeymoon.  It is not in the busy part of Oia but about a 10-12 min walk from everything and also there is parking which is extremely rare on the island. The Caldera view is the most beautiful without it being blocked off so we saw the most amazing sunsets in the jacuzzi and the sunrises with gourmet breakfast waiting for us when we woke up.  There is a choice of both western and greek breakfast. Personally I liked trying the greek breakfast.

Summary:

Pros: View of Caldera, Modern Cave house, Gourmet Breakfast, ENJOY!

Cons: Other noise from guests (I would recommend getting the lower level suite and pay extra to upgrade to the Maisonettes as there is more privacy otherwise there will be noise from kids and people swimming outside your room).


Dream Honeymoon suite overlooking Caldera

what a beautiful resort. The staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. The full breakfast (included) was served on our veranda overlooking the Caldera. We also had sunset dinners served on our veranda 2 nights while in Santorini..the food was reasonably priced, food was excellent quality. Our room had an outdoor jacuzzi, the property has a pool for the guests to use. location was outstanding for watching sunsets.The room was large, very clean, AC worked very well. In room coffee maker was a plus . We travel a lot and this is certainly one of the best hotels we have stayed in

The place to stay in Santorini

My friend and I stayed for 7 nights in the Gardener’s Petit House in mid-October.  We had complimentary transfers both ways from the airport.  I was looking forward to the stunning views and it certainly lived up to all the photos I had seen.  On arrival and the walk down was just as I imagined it.  The views are arguably the best in Oia.  Ikies is situated at the beginning of Oia and it’s a beautiful 10 minute walk to the centre / 15 mins to 3 domes view point and 35 mins to Ammoudi Bay.  It’s quieter and more pleasant around the area of the hotel as fewer people walk 
In that direction.

Although the room is not huge it is very comfortable for 2 persons and didn’t feel cramped at all.  The only small issue I would have is with the shower glass as there is a big gap at the bottom so it’s easy to make the tiled floor very wet if you are not careful.  

Breakfast is great with a choice of different options and lots of extras.  The best thing about the Gardener’s house is definitely the private terrace where breakfast is served and has the perfect view of the sunset against the stunning caldera backdrop.

If you rent a car, there is plenty of parking right next door at the desalination plant.  There are quite a few steps from the room level to the entrance of the hotel so if you have difficulty climbing a lot stairs please bear that in mind.

We had a fantastic time at Ikies.  The staff are fantastic and very helpful and friendly.  We loved our daily chats with Artemis who was so nice and everyone works really hard and always smiling.

It was a wrench to leave such a wonderful place but would definitely come back to beautiful Oia and stay at Ikies again.

Stunning views of the caldera and sunset

The top off of our stay in Greece - this hotel was the perfect place to stay. The best place to watch the sun set in October. The staff was EXTREMELY accommodating. The food was very good! We did not take advantage of the local restaurants in the area as we discovered that one of us could not indulge in Greek delicacies. :-( The room was very small, but adequate for our needs and the view and service more than made up for it. Also, be forewarned that there is a lot of climbing if you get a room on the first floor. This hotel is very typical of some in the area but you are afforded the most wonderful views. They helped us obtain transport for a couple of day trips as well. 

Wonderful Hotel With Great Views and Lovely Staff

Beautiful setting, friendly and helpful staff and perfect room with balcony and jacuzzi for our 40th wedding anniversary. Particular mention to Christina who was extremely helpful and gave us very good recommendations for eating and our boat trip. Also a mention of the housekeeping staff who were very efficient and friendly. 

Perfect setting for a stay on Santorini

Wonderful hotel.  Great service, great location (quiet, great sunset views).  Room was great with 2 bathrooms, sauna and outdoor plunge.  Breakfast served on the patio every morning was wonderful.  Sunset dinners on patio also great.  The office, house cleaning and room service personnel were always friendly and responded quickly.  We did the hike from Oia to Fira; it took about 2 hrs 45 minutes with stops.  It was hot when we left at 9:15 so recommend leaving earlier.  Gets very crowded once you get to Fira.  We would stay here again!

Ikies was the perfect charming place to experience the stunning beauty of Santorini. Having delicious breakfast and dinner in your own expansive balcony with the magical view of the caldera and sunset over Oia was unforgettable.  And all the staff there made our first trip to this dream destination wonderfully memorable. From their pre-arrival correspondence and departing gifts and messages, they truly made you feel welcomed. Their attentive professionalism and friendliness was very much appreciated. I contacted Ikies by email 2 days prior to our arrival and the front desk staff were so helpful under such short notice and so accommodating in arranging our amazing sunset catamaran trip with Santo Sails, which was an excellent recommendation!

Dream Destination

Staff is wonderful and breakfasts are delicious. The location on the outskirts of Oia is perfect as you are close enough to the action to get into town quickly but it's quiet at night. Lots of steps to get in and out- but you'll get that anywhere you stay in either Oia or Fira. Would definitely recommend! 

A Great Santorini Experience

We stayed here for two nights and only have positive things to say!  The breakfast was incredible, the views amazing, and it’s just a fabulous hotel.  Our room was clean and spacious, with coffee/tea, water, and wine.  I will definitely stay here again next time I’m in Santorini!

Great hotel in Santorini

I did a ton of research for hotels in Santorini.  The major complaints was the "lack of privacy" and the noise.  This location completely avoids those issues!    The main shopping/restaurant areas are an easy 10 minute walk.  The grounds are spotless.  The breakfast provided on the balcony was sublime with a magnificent view of the caldera.  The staff was wonderful and responsive to all our needs.  Their restaurant recommendations were perfect.  We stayed in the Carpenter's House.  I was blown away at the spacious accommodations.   The room was "decorated to the nines" and the plunge pool was the topper.  I should add make use of the excellent chauffeur Mercedes service.    The only caveat this place isn't cheap, but I would book again in a split second.
